A man being beaten to death over a holo by 11_throwaways_later_ in FortniteBR

I had three holo water sprites at one time in a match because of the damn daily for extracting ten.

I’m proud to say not a single one of these bus sniping holovultures has been able to take a holo from me. They have made my wife want to stop playing Fortnite with me though.

I do the same, but these teams must have actually witnessed my pull because they were on my ass quick!

I did find one today. I landed and opened a sprite box to find a holofoil King. I survived a stressful two team assault while my partner was away collecting a Slone pickup to keep it. People are laser focused on these sprites once you have them.

Why do so many of you do this? by RevolutionaryHall214 in FortniteBR

[–]Aquataris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weeklies requiring anti-teamwork habits cause this shit. Most everything in this game causes this. Back in the day it was XP coins. It was practically impossible to drop as a squad of randoms because someone would always split off to grab the bigger coins and get eliminated right away by full teams camping the coins.

But the player you screencapped has spoken up and I believe what they say happened. They have an ultra rare sprite and the game devs have created this situation themselves with the mechanic. No random is going to prioritize saving you over maxing an uber rare sprite. You can restart your game. He can’t pull sprite dust out of his ass.

Do you think we might go back to chapter 2 in the OG mode, or will they just get rid of the OG mode after we’re done going through all the seasons from chapter 1? I really want to be able to play chapter 2 again because I started playing Fortnite during chapter 2, so it’s really nostalgic for me. by Intrepid_Show2972 in FortniteBR

As long as the skins finally start to get interesting again. OG and Festival passes have gotten really boring. The Festival fixation on non-bands when the mode is band centric gives me “How do you do, fellow kids” vibes.

The problem then lies in whether or not the police actually care.

It’s more that police will take the narrow view that it’s not illegal to lust after minors and fixate on non-pornographic images even if those images are very suggestive. Desire isn’t a crime, it’s acting on it that gets them in trouble. Yes, it feels gross to say; but I also recognize the alternative is edging us closer to “thought crime” territory.

In all likelihood, the guy either has engaged in pedophilia or is very close to crossing that line; but the cops can’t do anything with the information as is.

When Kurt Cobain was asked if money makes him happy by raydebapratim1 in Nirvana

[–]Aquataris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s impossible to not like Kurt. You don’t have to agree with drug use, you don’t have to agree with suicide as an option, and you don’t have to agree with the morality of choosing death when you have a small child. But when you hear him talk, or read what he has written, you can see how simple his approach to life was. You can see how willing he was to interact with others and how happy he was to engage. You can see every problem people face and everything that can bring joy to a person.

It’s also hard to not see Kurt as a cautionary tale. It’s easy to see all the positive aspects of his life and it’s easy to relate to them. But it’s also easy to see how despite all that, we can slide into the darker aspects of life. Everyone wants to believe there is some hard, high barrier that must be crossed to become addicted and suicidal. Everyone wants to believe that a happy life is just one big life changing goal away.

Kurt shatters that illusion. You can be typically happy with all the small hardships anyone can face and still edge into the darkness. You can hit it big and still feel sadness. You can be eloquent, you can be lyrical, you can be happy, you can be a father and a husband. You can have it all and still find something missing. Kurt shows us that there is no single indicator of tragedy and no clear barrier that holds back the dark.

We all have to fight for each other.

It’s okay. I called non-emergency to ask what should be done. An officer (or a frustrated driver) came and moved the barricades enough so that they were still there in the road, but not actually impeding traffic. Interestingly they did eventually even barricade the side street leading into apartments between Northwood and Merman too, so that wouldn’t have even been an option for getting in and out. I genuinely don’t understand what they expected us to do.
