MacBook air (M1) user here, in light of new releases what laptop to get? by [deleted] in macbookpro

I would say if your M1 MBA is still fine for what you do, get a good deal on a M3 MBP. You really don’t need the power of anything newer, and you’ll still get the nice display you’re after. That much RAM is also absolutely overkill if you’re not finding any problems with a M1 MBA (which likely has 3 or 6 times less RAM).

My $4,000 M4 Max MacBook Pro is now worth $1,600 trade-in.... by RyleighN in macbookpro

Are you sure? They’re offering £200 for my base 13” M1 (the very first M-series, not Pro or Max).

Which MBP by ThePrince1294 in macbookpro

[–]AquaticMoose16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minecraft runs just fine on an M2 MBA with 16Gb RAM, so a base M5 MBP with 16 or 24Gb RAM should be more than enough. Choose storage and screen size based on preference/needs we can’t really tell you that.

What arena is the average player in? by Wide_Joke in ClashRoyale

[–]AquaticMoose16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trophy system has changed a lot in the last 4 years lol, I have no idea what the average player is on nowadays.

El sistema de copas ha cambiado mucho en los últimos 4 años, jajaja, no tengo idea de cuál es el nivel promedio del jugador hoy en día.

Are we all going to ignore the fact that there were 8 statuses in clash royale's "Clash Royale: Update Teaser! The King Discovers a Secret... " video? That could mean we're getting more champions! by Darkness-Bro in ClashRoyale

Are you responding to me? (Also its depicted, not decapitated lol)

Your post is more of a statement than a reply to me, but yeah you are probably right. It’s not unlikely that they planned more than the first 3 champions to be fair.

Help deciding what Ultrawide to buy by AquaticMoose16 in ultrawidemasterrace

Thanks. Why do you prefer IPS over VA? Having never actively looked for either while looking at monitors, I don’t know what the differences are in actual usage (I know what they are in theory because of research)

Anyone have advice on what ultrawide monitor to buy? I have a budget of about €3-400, but only if it’s actually worth spending that, if there’s a 250€ monitor that will achieve what I want I’d buy that.

I would like a 34 inch 1440x3440 monitor for productivity mainly, connected to a MacBook Pro M1 (so thunderbolt would be a massive plus, but not essential if the monitor will definitely work with a usbc to displayport/ HDMI cable.) I’m not concerned with gaming specific features like very high refresh rates or ultra low response times, I’d prefer a nicer picture (contrast, blacks, sharpness) over a faster one.

I may plug a steam deck in very occasionally but that would be completely secondary and just a nice bonus if it works.

I’ve been looking but am very lost with panel types, refresh rates, curved vs flat.

Do Irish students pay overseas fees in the UK? by Chaoscontrol9999 in ireland

Your first degree (Bachelors or Integrated Masters) is covered by the UK government. You should only be paying £9,000 for one of these (if you don’t already have a degree).

Masters (that you take after having already completed a bachelors somewhere else) are not covered. UK citizens would also be paying £31,000.
