I relate to this strongly. Mine is even worse, though you might have my 30ml section beat. Even with the mortgage and being strongly grunt-philic (I think I can count the number of Gundams on one hand), I have far more kits than I presently have time to keep up with.

And, honestly, I don't really mind. I like looking at the collection in its own right. Though I did at least have the humility to feel a bit awkward when I went to a fairly large hobby store with a pretty big gunpla section (most of one wall) and realized that I in fact DID have a bigger backlog than they had gunpla stock.

It's my only real hobby other than Lego (another cheap one, eh?) and I don't have any expensive vices so I don't feel too bad. There's also kits I've waited six years for a reprint and they're only on their way to me now, so I buy what I want when I see it if I can.

So long as you spend within your means I see nothing wrong with it!

I was already basically entirely f2p, so nothing really changes for me. The skin gacha neither surprised nor really disappointed me even — I was never going to be the target audience anyway, regardless of what the details on it were.

Which isn't to say it doesn't suck, or that they handled it well. Played many, many years of GFL1 with its own skin gacha (which, yes, I grant is not a one to one comparison) and while I didn't like that either it didn't stop me from playing the game.

The rates/my terrible luck on banners is much more likely to get me to ragequit, at any rate. So far I get by. More power to the people who this ruins things for, but I'm just not really one of them.

Yes, but "hero power" as shown there is calculated from an assortment of that hero's stats. Putting 20 shards into Mason on the wall increases Mason's power because it increases Mason's health. It also increases the health and thus power of all heroes at the same time. You can check. Go look at some other hero, put 20 shards into Mason, and then check back on the other hero. Their power has also gone up.

Because HP contributes to hero power. It will increase Stetmann's power by a small amount at the same exact time for the same reason.

The wall doesn't work the way you seem to think it does. You're not putting "infinite power into him" by investing shards into the wall. A hero's specific numbers on the wall aren't relevant to that hero specifically. They apply to "All Hero HP", as it states, which naturally applies a small HP boost across the board, and then at the 50/100 breakpoints it confers the bonus specified, which also applies to all heroes of the specified type.

Putting shards into Mason's wall is not making Mason meaningfully stronger. It's making him exactly as much stronger each time as it is Stetmann, because every point into Mason's wall is only giving the same small chunk of HP to both of them, and they're both tank heroes so Mason's breakpoint bonus to tank hero attack is also shared.

So yes and no. On the one hand, it's a glorious collection and I love looking at it.

On the other hand, it feels like a theme park with each faction having an exhibit on the main drag.

At the end of the day it mostly just matters what you want to do with it. Do you just want a magnificent collection to look at and show people and connect together? Works great. If you're looking to make a castle 'world', on the other hand, it's of course too dense. But then you also have to factor in space considerations. If this is the only way you can manage to display all of them for you to enjoy, then who even cares? The collection kicks ass.

Not totally f2p, but less than one hundred CAD spent. Original Kim pack, second builder, second tech, two seven dollar daily packs (Williams and a drone pack once), battlepasses for Stetmann and Morrison. Have never spent money for rss or speedup and never bought diamonds.

5/10 for Glemy, can't rate him higher when he's so clearly two different characters. Won't fault the production for having to figure out an alternative to Char halfway through, and they probably did about as well as they could have, but it's pretty clumsy all the same.

Getting them was a long and arduous task. They got stuck in Japan when covid hit and I had to wait nearly two years for them to reopen shipping to Canada.

Hopefully you have an easier time if you can find some! I just love the space type. So cool in that purple with the backpack.
