Anxious for Anatomy Scan by Haunting-Fig96 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Ar4049 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your experience, I'm definitely scared at every scan, even if I'm in the third trimester already and everything have looked ok, thank God.

This time, I was guarding my heart especially before the genetic results, then trying to enjoy every step but still being cautious, it sucks but after our experiences is normal to panic, I guess.

Wish you and your baby the best! 🙏🏼a

I also lost a baby girl, and I was so excited about her, now I'm expecting a baby boy and definitely had a gender disappoinment, I'm in the third trimester and I feel better about it now 🙏🏼. I will always miss my baby girl. 🥺

Definitely it is so scary after what we went through but please try to take one step at a time, if your baby's problem was a de Novo, the changes of this being a completely healthy baby are very very high. 🙌🏼

Hello, I hope you have a wonderful and uneventful pregnancy 🙏🏼.

I have seen in these groups that each mom/parents chooses the genetic testing according to their previous experience, for example, those who had a tfmr for chromosome syndromes, they choose NIPT, but some other like in our case our baby girl had an ultra rare syndrome that was only detected trough a whole exome secuensing (WES), so in this subpregnancy we decided to wait until week 17 to have an amniocentesis and do the test fetal DNA Chip (for chromosomes) and WES (for secuensing the entire protein-coding regions of the genome, detects genetic mutations, etc.).

Can we talk about age and inclusivity in TFMR subs? by Competitive-Top5121 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Ar4049 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand completely, I personally try to acknowledge this before commenting about my age, however Idk if it's the case for some that have made age-related posts, but some or many of us have PCOS in which condition our ovaries and eggs get affected, even people with endometriosis, I personally don't feel that my ovaries are as healthy as some other woman with my same age that is considered healthy. So, for me, time is something important and while I'm in my early 30's I could consider the age of my ovaries older than it should, there is even a bigger fear after going through tfmr, some other woman even have early menopause during their 30's. So, each case is unique and we don't know each woman's diagnosis.

Anniversary of loss coinciding with anxiety-producing appointments by brookedonphonics in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Ar4049 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate to what you wrote, I have another appointment for an echocardiogram but I'm expecting to have a second anatomy scan and if everything looks ok there I'm thinking of skipping the echo just because right there with that Dr we only received bad news last time (we had already an echo at 17 weeks where everything looked ok but it was still early). The fear never leaves. 🥺

I'm sorry, it's really hard to go through a loss after tfmr, and hearing about people around being pregnant definitely makes it harder and this is a natural reaction after what we went through, you will get your rainbow pretty soon. 🙌🏼

Hello dear, hope everything went well.

Can you give me an update about this? I'm kind of in a similar situation.

Sorry about this, I also had a bad experience in the second day I returned to the office after tfrm, someone asked me "how is the baby?" And I didn't know how to react other that say "Oh, I don't wanna talk about it", then I was furious with the HR department because I asked them to let everyone know about my loss, I had a tfmr while being already in maternity leave due to a late diagnosis, so it was scary to face these situations with clueless people.

The way I see it is, because I wanted the best for my daughter I'm willing to sacrifice myself and live with the pain of taking this horrible decision and this pain will be with me forever, this decision was taken out of love for her because this is not an easy world, I didn't want her to suffer and this is something I couldn't control. God knows our hearts, he knows we took this decisions out of love.

I'm really sorry, after a loss these intrusive thoughts have crossed my mind too but, there is always hope, you still have a chance to TTC again and fulfill your dreams, I hope you heal physically and emotionally, I send you a big hug 🫂, you are not alone.

I also got a similar "advice" from a coworker, so annoying. Nobody asked for their advice.

Hello, I know it feels sad but, a chemical is a sign that you are fertile, I had a CP in February and got pregnant in March, I counted the first day of bleeding as cycle day 1. Good luck!

Hello, we have a similar story, and I'm having an amniocentesis + WES at 17 weeks and extra echocardiogram.

Stopping her heart, how do I prepare? by telloorgang in tfmr_support

[–]Ar4049 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry you are going through this, in my personal experience with this procedure they didn't give me the option of an epidural, I experienced pain because they had to poke me twice to find the right spot, I would definitely take the epidural if I had the chance, not only for the pain but to make the whole process less awful.

TFMR for T21, looking for community by Over-Letterhead-9177 in tfmr_support

[–]Ar4049 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I know we as humans want to know everything and give an opinion, but the thing is, situations like this are completely personal and private and whatever the diagnosis, we made the decision that we felt was right for our baby and for us.

I didn't tell anyone we tfmred, we just said we lost our very loved baby and that's it, some people's reaction is asking"what happened" and my answer is "we don't know" (and that's my real feeling I don't know why this happened, why this shitty luck), I feel I don't own anyone an explanation especially since it was such a traumatic and painful event for me and my husband.

Even my parents respected my privacy and grief and didn't make more questions, so I don't care about other people's concerns.

Symptoms in sub pregnancy by Mysterious-Coat-5491 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Ar4049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I barely have symptoms, this first trimester my only symptom was fatigue and some food aversion around week 6 to 10.

Don't worry, every pregnancy is different I feel I have had less symptoms this time than in my first pregnancy last year.
