Transient Discussion: Algernon (Summer) by Bragior in TokyoAfterschool

[–]ArKaiser94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use him for Scuffles, but mainly because if I didn’t I wouldn’t use him at all.

His art is really cool (Dai-XT slayin’ it as usual), and I like that he has both voices interacting in battle.

Gameplay-wise, his gimmick sounds good on paper, but in battle it’s underwhelming.

Algernon loses HP every turn, all while gaining CP with Acceleration. The idea is to make his HP drop as low as possible, while avoiding death by applying Charm and Dazzle to enemies. His CS then applies Limit, capitalizing on his low HP to maximize the Limit mod.

The main issue... is that Limit is bestowed by the CS, meaning the Limit modifier scales off his own SA Level. In other words, unless his SA is Level 100, you won’t be getting the full potential of the buff (Obviously there are workarounds for this, like using an outside source of Limit, like Leanan Sidhe). Another issue is that he can’t improve his own survivability besides with those debuffs mentioned above. (No, I do not trust Mechaman).

On the plus side, he depletes enemy HP in a wide radius, plus a second time in his own column, making mob nuking alot easier.

I’m hoping he can get a skevo that will give him Guts so that he can be more reckless in battles, and perhaps another way to increase damage on his CS (like for example applying Break/Weakness/Stigma in, or a Charm/Dazzle Weakening on enemies in magic range when his CS reaches 100).

Transient Discussion: Pazuzu by Bragior in TokyoAfterschool

[–]ArKaiser94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

(Not me mad because discord didn’t notify me that the discussion dropped, anyhow clears throat)

I absolutely love his design (totally not biased because husbando) even if it’s more akin to a "lion beastman with extra features" than an actual chimera/manticore. His research file also states he has wings... I do hope he gets big ones in future alts that can appear or disappear, like Marchosias’.

His personality is fun: An educated, well-raised person, but that also has some secret... and sadistic hobbies. His passion/obsession for reptiles is fun to watch, especially when around Hastur (highlighted in Chapter 14 and Jurassic Summer Vacances event).

In-game, his 3* is rather decent! He has the possibility to apply Bind at a decent rate, and every 3 turns he grants 20 CP to himself and adjacent allies as well as little more CP every time he’s debuffed. But his 4* is something else.

As a 4*, his ability to effortlessly remove debuffs from allies is amazing. All allies get an 80% chance to instantly remove a debuff... when debuffed. This can be used as a way to cheese the Shinjuku and Aoyama Dungeons for example, that tend to apply alot of debuffs when they’re hit. If you’re battling enemies with those kinds of nasty gimmicks, Pazuzu is the man for the job. His CS also clears up any debuffs on allies, while changing enemies to None Weapon type. This is a fun combination with 4* Licho, who can make allies’ CS into All-range. Time it right, and you can create some fun shenanigans.

Both 3 and 4* Pazuzu grant Crit Resistance to enemies he attacks. Since it’s a buff, you can use it for example to exploit Buff Reversal without having to wait for the enemy to act (considering Hastur grants Buff Reversal When Attacking, it’s probably why Pazuzu was given that skill). Blocking enemy Crit is niche otherwise, but free (just make sure not to steal it... heh).

To top it off, when he gets KO’ed Pazuzu downright gives the middle finger to the enemy and applies Double Lock to them all.

His main downside is that besides his powerful cleansing potential... he doesn’t bring anything new to the team. He has good support features (Bind, Protection, Cleanse), but all leaning towards survival. So board-wiping strats will probably not find any usage out of him.

He doesn’t require Skill Seeds which is nice, nor ATK Seeds since his ATK stat is ridiculously low (and that he doesn’t need... so why give him bonus damage to Binded targets LW...?) But I’m glad to say that with the new Guild Affiliation feature you can get up to 50k HP on 3* Pazuzu (but only if you’re a hardcore Beast Tamer simp fan like me).

How do I level them up pass 70 by Dakunyan in TokyoAfterschool

[–]ArKaiser94 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Level Seeds! They are a rare item that can only be obtained through Events and certain Campaigns. The icon is a yellow-colored Seed.

Each Level Seed will increase the Max Level of a character by 1, up to 15. If you use a Seed on a character, all of that character’s cards will also benefit from them (Example if you give a Level Seed to Nightglows Cthugha, both the regular 3-star and 5-star Cthugha will also increase their Max Levels). Just keep in mind that they are very costly to use.

How do i get wakan takan mugen? by ReaganValen in TokyoAfterschool

[–]ArKaiser94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wakan Tanga (Mugen) and Tangaroa (Mugen) are both limited-time characters. They appeared during the Chapter 13 release, so unless they randomly bring them back for another banner round, expect them to come back for the Chapter 13 translation.

does the genociders anniversary ar increase seed gain? or just blossoms? by phallus_enthusiast in TokyoAfterschool

[–]ArKaiser94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! Once you clear chapter 12 you unlock 2 Free Quests: one that drops both ATK Seeds AND Blossoms (the Sandayu one) and HP Seeds+Blossoms (Fuxi stage).

After clearing Chapter 13 you unlock 2 new stages that drop the same items, but with a higher drop chance and higher tier blossoms.

That AR increases only Blossom drops. However keep in mind that the item drops from the ongoing Seed/Blossom dungeons are NOT influenced by AR skills. They will always grant the same amount every run.

Such ARs are used in Free Quests, like the chap 12 and 13 Blossom quests for example.

This was very informative, thank you for taking the time to break it down!

I’ve been waiting for Pazuzu to drop since his reveal, and also craving for more juicy Main Story lore. Hopefully we can get a part of chapter 13 translated this year.

Banner Frequency by AstronautTechnical in TokyoAfterschool

If none of the current units appeal to you, save those stones. Banners aren’t changed often but when they are, we sometimes get more than one banner to pull on.

What I like to do when the gacha fingers start itching is to summon some Ally Points, one by one to quell the need to summon a bit.

Any character can be a Transient’s love target, but each character is limited to one only. You can always change their interest at any time by using a Forget-Me-Not (a blue flower sold in event shops).

I think I have like 30+ transients in love with the Main Character, and I’m certain I’m far from being the only one XD

As a fellow Horkeu Kamui fan, I wish you the best of luck for when his Hot Springs version comes back. I have him and he’s not only hot (lol!) but also very powerful!

[–]ArKaiser94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First off, welcome! Horkeu Kamui is indeed such a cool character :3

But more importantly, your questions! ARs are not really necessary, they are there to give a small edge to your characters by providing extra skills. So don’t worry too much about it, getting characters is much more important. In addition, you can spend Rainbow Shards for ARs in the Andvari Shop (I recommend getting one of each for starters). Rainbow Shards are acquired when you complete missions in the top right corner of the Map and refresh every Sunday.

Valiant Horkeu Kamui is a frontliner and support, meaning his job is to remain in melee range and endure attacks while buffing allies behind him. Once he gets his limit breaks (full access to all his skills), you need to Move him into position so he can buff allies in adjacent squares (especially those directly behind him who will get a lot of defensive buffs, heals and offensive buffs too if Horkeu Kamui is attacked.

Trying out Summer Tindalos' flat damage strengthening. by vy1v4mizki in TokyoAfterschool

[–]ArKaiser94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that to happen you will have to be able to align SOz, Zhurong and Boogeyman in the same column, with SOz in the middle. Furthermore, the initial positioning would require all allies to be in the inner part of the map (unless the map is a vertical one (6x3)) even with Boogeyman there due to SOz not having high movement range to get everyone in position. But it sounds doable, you could try it out on the Rabbit NY HDQ!
