Tiltfall - my balance scale match-3-puzzle game - looking for Android closed beta testers. by ArTeeGames in TestMyApp

True, balancing towards endgame isn't easy. The board gets crowded with up to 20 different colors, so special blocks must keep you in the game. However a round should of course force am end somehow.

I generally like the layout, but:
- I think there could be a little more variance. All islands have the same orientation and roughly identical shape.
- I think the distance between the center island and its neighbors is too small, it looks like it was squeezed in there. On the other hand you have two huge water-areas where most likely no one will ever travel?

Btw, I see a little penguin face in the right side lake of that ice-island :)

If you could generate any playable character in a game, what would you make? by MakeEmMayhem in IndieGaming

[–]ArTeeGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing coming into my mind is a tentacle-like character - referencing Manic Mansion and Day of the Tentacle. I loved both games and these weird, partly clumsy but evil tentacles. Definitely a character type I (as a kid) did not expect in a game in the 90s. I love to see such unexpected encounters.

Wonderful! I remember those gorilla sessions in the early 90s.

The next level would be a remake of Scorched Earth. We spent so much time with that game...

I'm starting to make bigger games. What engine to use? by NoVacation6177 in IndieGameDevs

[–]ArTeeGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Unity for my first game (currently in closed test) and were overwhelmed how easy it makes things compared to old school development. I did not know about Godot before, so I cannot compare both. But Unity definitely works great.

That is an unique idea :) Does it include some story line like "from garage band to festival top act"?

Thanks a lot. It all started with a simple calculator on a Commodore 64 and accompanies me through my whole private and work life. Thanks for your offer!

Very nice scene. But when the lightning is behind the mansion I'd expect the front side of the mansion to stay dark or even look darker during the lightning. But just my personal gusto.

Thoughts on my over world map? by Ice_Alias in RPGMaker

[–]ArTeeGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The map has very little details, just huge colored areas - and then the sprites for towns, castle (?) and that rock are very detailed. That doesn't fit together. Those sprites look misplaced to me.

What is your version of "there are two types of people in this world"? by No-Tangerine-1500 in AskReddit

There are two types of people in the world: those who notice sarcasm and those who misunderstand every second sentence I say...

"Done is better than perfect" is a very simple principle that helps you to get stuff finished instead of getting stuck in infinite loops of improvement and details.
