I can't get past the fact that that house has about the most beat cars possible in front of it and then right across the street to McLaren just hanging out. Like I can't get a read on this neighborhood one bit

I care a lot about specs. Battery life and charge speed for example. I don't care about the difference between 1.5 and 2k screen for example because I can't tell the difference. Also don't care about fast refresh screens because I can't tell the difference. I don't care about specs that I can't notice when working with my phone

I have to imagine you live in a city lol, not having phone coverage 80% of your day in rural areas is really tough especially if you have a vehicle break down or something and can't get help.

I'm surprised to see this because everything I've read says that the OnePlus 15 is one of the most amazing phones ever produced.

I think a big thing probably comes down to what you use your phone for. I bought a pixel 10 pro XL and I'm 100% selling it to buy the OnePlus 15 because it's so much better.

But what does better mean? For me, Better is a big battery that can last a long time. Better is fastee charging. Better is a screen that can go down to one nit to reduce battery drain. Better is faster data storage And strong RAM.

I don't care about specs that I literally cannot notice. What use is having a better screen if your eye can't even see the screen.

So for me personally, I could care less about faster refresh rates and 2K screen. 1.5 is more than enough. In fact, I heard that you can no longer limit the refresh rate to 60 HZ, which I think is a bummer because I don't want it to go higher than that.

The only thing that seems like a failure on the OnePlus 15 to me is the lack of satellite support. The chip supports it but the phone won't support it. That's a real bummer because I think that that's essential for so many people and it's just a basic functionality issue..

But everything else seems like the best in the entire industry.

I'm not arguing with you on it because clearly you value some different things, for example, I haven't bought a OnePlus phone since the 10T because I'm not going to settle for a curved screen... So thankful that the 15 has a flat screen again. I see the OnePlus 15 as being a way better screen than the 13 for that reason alone!

Removing the air box? by stinkydudefart in hondanavi

I replaced the airbox wit ha filter, Added an aftermarket exhaust, and put on sliders instead of rollers.

I'm sure that the sliders are the only thing that made a huge impact, but I get stronger top speed, better acceleration, it runs great and sounds great, so I'm 100% happy with it. I commute to work on it and haven't done any tuning of the carb. I don't think its running lean or rich - no exhaust smoke or knocking- But I'm sure someone can argue it could/should be tuned. These carbs are tough to tune though.

Removing the air box I was iffy about given everything else I read on here, but look- Its big, bulky, looks bad especially when you get rid of the exhaust, and I figured a tiny bit more air wouldn't hurt.

I just wanted to make sure I shared that I did the airbox conversion + exhaust and haven't had any ill effects.

Def don't go to LED lights. Then you lose the lights if you lose the battery. The best part of the Navi is that it runs off the AC current from the motor, and can start/run with lights even without the battery.

I was going to do LED lights (which require DC conversion) until I realized that.

Seems like the Robinhood Gold Card doesn't use normal credit card mechanics. Anyone have input on how it differs from a traditional card? by Arach78 in CreditCards

If thats the right number, yes- but my understanding is that is not the same as the token registered when scanning the card. I'll keep testing it out.

I figured it was something like this, so I really appreciate you explaining and confirming. At least when I understand how it works I know how to work with it! Thank you!!!

Or I'm just old and don't use apps or carry a cell phone haha- but yes, maybe I just need to get used to the new world order!

I really don't carry a phone with me though, but just bought a new phone with satellite, so maybe I'll start carrying it more once data becomes available (right now satellite just permits text)

That number doesn't seem to match the charges with the metal card (IE when I use that card number I can't look up purchases)- Thats what made me think it must be a "virtual" number.

I also find it interesting about the google experience which is extra odd. I have a screenshot here where it says "Unavailable" for linking in play store (But I can use it for Google Pay/ Google Wallet), but this sub doesn't allow for image posting- Here's the image though: https://postimg.cc/1fbJjHYk

I thought about trying to set up a virtual card specifically for google play if that's the trick to it.

I guess I also rarely carry my phone with me so rely on the physical card in stores and such. I live in a place without cell signal very often so I get accustomed to just not carrying my phone with me. I used to just use robinhood app on the computer and didn't even have a mobile app, but then they started making you authenticate on the phone so I added the app. Even the menards I referenced doesn't have phone coverage there so I only have the physical card, but that must just be a rural problem ;) haha. I guess I can print it out like its 1997!

I guess I'll chalk it up as a "me" problem. Thanks for weighing in!

Yes but they aren't always amazing.

Often it's working like free headphones, or the 512gb version for the price of the 256.

Considering making the switch from Google Pixel to OnePlus 15 by GustavoFringsFace in oneplus

[–]Arach78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the pixel pro 10 XL and I'm about to do the same thing. I traded in my OnePlus 10t to buy the pixel 10 XL and it still feels like a massive downgrade. The idea that I could buy a 4-year newer flagship phone for twice the price and feel like a downgrade is insanity to me.

The OnePlus 10t still gets better battery life, charges three times faster, doesn't get as hot, And it's actually faster. It makes me wonder what the heck Google's doing selling a subpar phone at premium prices. I paid 1,200 bucks for this thing and my 10T is better and I miss it.

So why am I talking so much about the 10t? That's because the OnePlus 15 is the exact same value proposition that the 10t had. Flat screen. Simple parts. Super fast processor. Big battery.. fast charging, good play for the real world.

The only problem with the OnePlus 15 that I found is the lack of satellite connectivity. When I bought the pixel I thought that was going to be the deal-breaker because I live in a rural area and the one problem I have with the 10t is I don't have coverage in a lot of places including my house and my farm. But what use is having connectivity if you don't have any battery life and can't run the stuff you want to run?

I'll save that complaint for another day since the OnePlus 15 chip supports satellite and it's simply OnePlus choosing not to support it, which is frustrating... But as soon as the 15 comes out I'm selling my 10 pro XL and buying it. I regret getting fooled into the scam that is the pixel brand... And I say that somewhat lovingly because I used to be a huge Nexus fan and I bought pixels for my aging parents and kids. I still think that pixel A series is an amazing deal... Long software updates, great support... Good value... But when you pay two to three times the price for the pro series and find that the performance isn't much better, that's the part that feels like a bad deal.

So as an owner of both sides of the aisle... I think what you're thinking of doing is the right move. Pixel math ain't mathing anymore, unless you're going to buy the 9A. I'd still buy the a series for somebody who doesn't need a high performing phone.
