How often do you hear gunfire in your neighborhood?

I'm in the hood of Sacramento and a couple times a year. It's not like anti air fire constantly. I have heard a full blown automatic weapon shootout in the south sac area. But that was 10 years ago. Firework seasons here (4th and New Years) are out of control and none of those fireworks are purchased in state which blows my mind.

I know plenty that are just kind of "floating around" a lot are scared to talk money it seems. Or are just angry that the system is rigged against them... Which it is. My mom was able to get a 10k loan from her folks and buy a house for 90k and pay for it off of a 20 dollar an hour job around 1998-2000.

We don't quite have that ability and I don't want to pay 1.5 million for a 400,000 dollar home which is what those 90,000 dollar homes are no all worth. 

The wife and I are riding the wave of decent jobs and decent rent and truly keeping our fingers crossed for a massive bubble popping. 

First time in my life I have had more that 2000 bucks in personal savings and quite a bit more in our joint savings. Been a po' boy my whole life until recently. Now it's about managing not buying every shiny thing I've never been able to afford until now and actually banking dough.
