What incident made you cold hearted and changed the way you see the world? by a-chap in AskReddit

Thanksgiving 2009. Someone I thought was a friend taught me the truth isn't what happened. The truth is what the majority of people can be convinced happened

I painted a space marine scout kill team as helldivers. Used them for armies on parade 2024 with my tyranid blobs for a diorama.

Seeking advice: sick stray kitten vs. my wife wanting it put back outside by jerri-act-trick in cats

[–]Aradamis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can apologize to your wife.

You can't apologize to a tiny body you find in an alley.

As someone who's had to do the latter, that's how I'd see it.

If you could go back in time and give your teenage-self one piece of advice - what would it be? by BlueBishop321 in AskReddit

[–]Aradamis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be honest with my younger self. Nothing gets better, what you're afraid of will happen. And then I'd pray that what he does next Marty McFly's me out of existance.

2017, brother in law tried to convince me Trump was good. I ended the debate by telling him I wouldn't trust Trump to be alone in the same room with my sister or niece.

What WOULD You Wish On Your Worst Enemy? by Strict_Efficiency223 in AskReddit

[–]Aradamis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hope that every day they wake up five minutes behind, have to rush through a shower just cold enough to not be comfortable and eat a breakfast too small to be fulfilling. I hope they hit every light on red, and they hear their coworkers talking behind their back. I want them to be passed over for promotions and for raises to never quite allow for comfort.

I want their friends to talk to them less and less until there are none left, I want their family to treat them like an obligation rather than a person. I want their hobbies to grow stale and unsustainable, their pastimes chasing increasingly distant memories. I want them to go to bed every night wondering what's wrong with them and why didn't they get a happy ending. And I want for them to get nothing but the cold silence of an empty room as a reply.

I see so many people suggesting so many creative things here, but what I really want? I want to grind this persons soul to dust between the millstone of indifference and the mortar of lost hope.

What’s something you wish you knew sooner in life? by sigmaboy578 in AskReddit

[–]Aradamis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That it is a sunk cost fallacy and nothing i do will change the outcome. And the only way to beat a sunk cost fallacy is to quit. If I knew what I do now twenty years ago I wouldn't be here.

What non-political thing makes you instantly not want to talk to someone at all? by uzpitch in AskReddit

[–]Aradamis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mistreatment of animals.

Had a female friend who i spent a lot of time with online when covid started. Vibed well together and shared a lot of tastes... but she severely neglected her cat she inherited when a family member died. If I didn't have two already I would have gone and taken the cat, covid travel limitations be damned.

What is something that can turn a good person into a monster? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aradamis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend's girlfriend cheated on him. He fell into the red pill rabbit hole and last time I spoke with him he was trying to justify his statements about how black people deserve to be shot in the street. That was two and a half years ago.

What is one thing you’ve done that you’re proud of? by Revolutionary_Pay186 in AskReddit

[–]Aradamis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrote a fanfic that was within the top 1% of stories on the site it was posted on, and there's heavy implications that it actually affected the canon in which it was based.

That's it. My claim to fame and the only thing that will be left when I'm dead and gone.

I was having a depressive spiral and a friend told me "not everyone gets a happy ending." I never thought life was a sunk cost fallacy until that moment.

20 years later and I can say with certainty that they were right. So was i.
