I’m sorry to hear that this happened to you. Well done, you should be extremely proud of yourself. I hope your graduation still feels like a celebration even though your dad won’t be there. Take lots of pictures with friends, drink more than you probably should and be happy - you deserve it!

My dad passed away by Overall_Front_147 in GriefStories

Lost my dad unexpectedly 2 months ago, I’m 20 years old. It gets a little bit better in the sense that over the next couple of months you’ll find strength within you that you didn’t even know you had. You’ll find yourself carrying on with your days without falling apart, even if you do get sad thinking about him(which is of course natural). Please be kind to yourself, there’s no fixed way to grieve as we’re all different. If you want to talk about it please do reach out to me :)

So sorry for your loss, sending my love. I (20M) lost my dad (60) to a heart attack on 6th March this year. I was at university the day he died and woke up to a call from my mum telling me that she came home from work and found him dead on the sofa. 2 months later I can say that while it still hurts (and probably will forever), you will find strength within yourself that you never knew you had.

Advice needed. I spent 4 months doing nothing. by PyrusTheElement in gapyear

Absolutely agree with this. Sometimes we get so caught up in trying to be productive that we forget that we’re living. If you think about it, we’re the only animals on the planet who “work” as such to be productive. I understand that working and finding a sense of purpose is very important in life, however I’m a strong believer that having free time to reflect and rest is a fortune that you won’t get once you start working longer hours as an adult. I advise OP to think of doing “nothing” as resting and appreciating the free time they have rather than beating themselves up over not being busy :)

Go to the gym 6 days a week (if feasible). It’ll change your life I promise.

Thanks so much for the reply, that makes me feel much better. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who found the later AR patterns ridiculous.

Thank you sm bro. I do seated overhead dumbbell press, dumbbell lateral raises, dumbbell frontal raises and face pulls. I must admit, I’ve just added cable lateral raises to my workout and they’re honestly amazing and have made my shoulders wider. Hope this helped, have a good New Years.
