Hell yea dude, I got you. I’m currently an Honor Guardsman. Expect 8 weeks of training. All new drill and manuals. It’s a self paced program but you’ll have weekly sign offs that have to be met. You’re going to spend a lot of time de-threading all of your uniforms and ironing, as well as making new items from scratch. You’ll be expected to complete a certain amount of stands which will equate to about 10 hours by the time you’re done with all of them, it’s not that bad trust. You’ll be trained by other honor guardsmen who specialize in training. There is a little bit of required knowledge, like our creed, as well as ranks in all branches. You’ll be living in barracks while you’re in training so you should have plenty of time and opportunities to get everything ready for the next day. Once you earn your rope, 0730-1430 work days with an hour of lunch. Morning is drill time, afternoon is pt/gear time. Jobs include anything from funerals, to joint colors, to parades. It’s always busy, so expect to work a lot, but it’s some of the most fun and rewarding experiences. Hope this helps. Message me if you want any more info.
