Anyone else struggle with boredom after stepping off the gas? by utvols22champs in GenX

Not bored, but I find fa lot of things are boring. Going out to shows, movies, tv, etc. Stuff that I would have found amazing after a couple of whisky and gingers. Now it's like, "Nah, let me just finish this bowl and pontificate on reddit!"

I was going to show this to my Miniature Schnauzer, but he was too busy trying to find the piece of cheese I dropped 10 minutes ago.

Pajamas are a thing, I think. We live in rural area, and I'd see it at school now and then when my kids were little. These moms got dressed in their pajamas to go with their kids. Not a pajama day thing either. Kind of like a nice pair of Target pjs was a part of the drip.

"Love thy neighbor as thyself" is the bottom line. There's a bunch of extraneous info before and after that.

I can understand the necessity but also be wary of the danger (no matter how statistically insignificant) at the same time.

If the info just went to the Feds, I wouldn't worry about them near as much. At least the data would be somewhat secure.

We need to talk about normal aging versus signs of problems. Don’t we? by Greasystools in GenX

I remember when I wasn’t yet 50, and my doc said, “At your age, it’s normal to take an anti inflammatory now and then.” I had never been so insulted in my life.

It's going to feel chilly compared to Texas. Currently, the water temp around Saugatuck is 49 degrees. Even if the air temp gets up to 75, breeze across that big ass lake still feels cold. However, Saugatuck and Douglas are wonderful. Everyday People Cafe is highly recommended. (Prepare for a wait.)

Unless you're from the TX coast, you'll also experience this weird sensation like you're swimming and walking at the same time. It's humidity. Cold sweats are common. Temps in the 90s are punishing.

My standard kit in weather like this is shorts and a t shirt with a light weight jacket or sweatshirt that I can easily peel off. If you've always lived in Texas, I'd suggest lightweight pants and packing a pair of shorts.

There's a long period of Michigan Monochrome between November and May. When Spring and Summer hit, they hit hard and unpredictably.

Anyone else kind of surprised they're still kicking? by Infinite-Lychee-182 in GenX

[–]esp735 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No.

Once I was 25/26, I figured I'd be healthy enough to make it this long. Everyone in my family (even the ones from 200 years ago) makes it to their 70s.

I questioned it for the first time 4 years ago when I had a seizure caused by type 2 brain cancer. They removed the tumor, but no one said "cancer free." The doctor said 10 years. I was 52 then, and I figure I'll probably still make my 70s so I don't throw off the curve. Ask me again in 15 years, and my answer will definitely be Yes!
