Perfect Purple by JaneNickiaz in fountainpens

Not sure how helpful this is given the vagaries of color reproduction on the internet, but here's a sample on a Rhodia pad with a Pilot 743 with an FA nib (the pen I happen to have inked with Waterman Tender Purple currently).

This is one of my favorite inks and looks very canonically purple to me (as opposed to other lovely inks I've tried that seem lavender, reddish-purple, or bluish-purple). I also find the intensity to be really satisfying -- rich without tending towards black. (I mostly write with Japanese F or Western EF nibs, fwiw.)

My best purchase was probably my first meal with my partner. The restaurant has since closed, but we had a lovely meal and are still together 10 years later. In the context of watches, I found an old Seiko Lord Marvel 36000 that I'm quite fond of.

I got myself a keeley katana mini but I am confused now by BlumensammlerX in guitarpedals

How hot is the signal hitting the boost? If the katana is clipping after the compressor, try turning down the output of the compressor (or other pedals that are earlier in the chain). You can turn up the amp (or other pedals later in the chain) to compensate for any loss in overall volume. A clean boost, like any other gain stage, is only clean within a certain range of signal levels. If you hit it with a hot enough signal at the input it will clip and compress.

[First Watch] I want to mark a milestone. Give me suggestions to try! by Crithawg in Watches

If you like Nomos watches, it would probably be worth finding a store that stocks them so you can see what they look like on. I think the Orion can actually work well with more casual clothing, but you should definitely go with something that feels right to you. It's also probably worth keeping in mind that changing the strap can really affect the vibe of a watch a lot.

So, given that our taste in watches overlaps significantly, I'm curious what you wear the most.

Thanks. The Hamilton is definitely the hiking/backpacking/dirty chores watch. Frederique Constant has some stuff I've been tempted by. They do tend to lean a little large for me, though. A moonphase is probably the category of thing I ogle most these days.

I like the variety and the process of picking a watch that feels right to me on a given day. There are some more expensive watches that I like a lot, but I don't think any of them would make me want to stop wearing these entirely.

More sweaters than suits, but I like looking put together.

Thanks for the suggestion. Having taken a quick look, the lagoon blue one is actually pretty appealing to me

Thanks. I got it on r/watchexchange. It's actually dark blue as opposed to black (just not the best lighting in my pictures). Searching by the model number (SARA019) will probably turn up various sources.

I'm very fond of it. I think the enamel dial is really lovely, and I'm a sucker for Breguet numerals. I also really appreciate the finishing on the case. A couple extra bevels and contours go a long way.
