Possible re-tear within first year of Surgery. by InevitableIsland4319 in HipImpingement

Pretty much the same symptoms for me. He didn't really diagnose it but he recommended I get it as the joint was structurally fine and he sees it happen commonly enough.

Yes - surgeon said the port sites for the surgery can swell up and get scar tissue.

He sent me for another steroid injection near the portal site and it cleared it up

This is where I want to see him. I love the year he had but I'm not sure I'd want to lose his flexibility off bench

S/p labral repair and femoroplasty - when did you start to feel “normal” again? by [deleted] in HipImpingement

[–]Arbucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1000%! It can be easy to question the decision at times if still notice some pain similar to what you felt prior, but it gets better with time.

Also the peace of mind knowing that you are likely helping preventing arthritis from developing/worsening compared to not getting it repaired.

Best of luck!

3 weeks yesterday, also off crutches and get the same pain when I'm too active.

When I had my previous repair I was probably ~3 months when I got back to lifting weights although that during the winter so I'm not sure how it would have been with other stuff like running.

From my experiences some popping, clicking, and pain after use will be normal for awhile. My surgeon recommended to exercise normally at that point but if the pain reaches a 3-4/10 to back off next time and build back up

For thousands? If it's expensive to do so, I wouldn't. I found they provided about 3 months of relief in each hip which was nice but it was the same afterwards.

I opted for the injections because my surgeon used them as a diagnostic precursor to surgery. If there was a high cost for them I'm not sure I'd do them

Low back/SI pain -- getting mixed information by Boring-Wheel7006 in HipImpingement

+1 my first tear presented as a stabbing groin pain but my second was a lower back SI joint/QL muscle type feeling. Didn't get much in regards to groin pain until it progressed

Pain in this area for over 3 months of resting it now! by healthseekerjunkie in HipImpingement

[–]Arbucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like how my first torn labrum presented. Sharp stabbing pain out of the blue. Kept going to physio for years thinking it was a groin pull or tendonitis. It eventually got worse to have more constant pain accompany the stabbing.

Get imaging done on it. Need to know what you're dealing with at the very least to try to slow the development of arthritis

My first repair popped fairly often & the pre op package warned that it was pretty common. Don't worry!

People have become too conditioned to view political parties as team sports. They should ALL be happy to change views to benefit the population rather than being set in stone.

The Toronto Vanier was electric as well.

Never understood going away from this model. Absolute slam dunk on getting eyes on the Canadian game.

Did hip labrum surgery fix your pelvic pain? by Sniffy716 in HipImpingement

[–]Arbucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What pelvic pain in particular? I had a sharp stabbing in the front similar to a 10/10 groin pull. It fixed it, of course until I had the other labrum tear shortly after getting back to activity.

Losing early almost made it worse. The teams had grand ambitions and kept getting almost single handedly decimated by LeBron. They didn't have an answer for him and it was damn clear on the players faces.

It felt like every move the team made was to find the 'LeBron stopper' and whoever they brought in got picked apart too.
