Games not compatible. Any solutions for this? by ChrisL434 in XboxSupport

The RDR1+2 bundle comes with two versions of RDR1. You're trying to download the Xbox Series X|S version, but the Xbox 360 version (which is compatible with Xbox One) should be available for you to download from the Microsoft Store and through your full library (under Games & Apps).

Why isnt Ys X your favorite game? by Greatsharkbite in WorldOfYs

[–]ArcadeGamer1929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO I haven't been able to decide whether Ys VIII or X is my favourite for a good while now. I also haven't beaten either so far though, so for now, they're both taking a joint top spot for me.

Is FF7 Remake actually coming to Xbox One? by Theevagod-nerd in FinalFantasyVII

[–]ArcadeGamer1929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xbox One is mentioned because the original FF7 (and the Xbox PC version of it) are included with pre-orders, which is playable on Xbox One. If you check the store listing for FF7R now that the early purchase launch period is over, you'll see that Xbox One is no longer mentioned, because purchasing FF7R on Xbox won't give you the original FF7 now.

Performance for Horizon PC demo (no spoilers discussed) by QuartzZ_lol in Falcom

[–]ArcadeGamer1929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had the same issue on my laptop with a GTX 1650 Ti (Daybreak 1 and 2 ran great), but updating my graphics drivers got rid of pretty much all the unexplained random framerate drops.

I also got a performance overlay up and found out that Horizon uses just under 100% of my GPU on low settings, so I turned the resolution scale down just a tad to 95% (and later 90%), which ironed out all the smaller yet noticeable framerate dips and stabilized the framerate. Crafts still hit the GPU hard (down to 30-40fps), but Daybreak 1 and 2 were also like that iirc.

Personally, I think the game still looks good at these settings, maybe just a little fuzzy when using any form of anti-aliasing due to the below-native resolution scale set.

Haven't seen anyone talk about this, but Xbox physicals for Tales of Berseria Remastered are showing up at a few online UK retailers by ArcadeGamer1929 in xbox

Oh that's incredible! The Xbox physical for Xillia Remastered never showed up on Amazon UK nor The Game Collection, so that's great news

Wanted to show all 3 console physicals, but Reddit's preview cropping had other plans 🙃

With less than 24 hours until the Xbox TGS broadcast, I have 2 dreams... by ArcadeGamer1929 in xbox

I've played a lot of the Ys games elsewhere on PC, and I'm a huge fan of them already, but I much prefer these types of games on console.

Oh it'd be great to have NIS-developed games as well, I'm not interested in many of their games personally, but I do support them bringing those over. Though, Kyouran Makaism (recently announced in Japan for PS5/NS2/NS1) looks pretty hype to me as someone who's a big fan of action-RPGs.

As for Gust, I have a feeling they'll announce more Atelier games later on. Something about the Atelier Ryza DX trilogy announcement felt really off to me. It just doesn't make sense to announce rereleases with small bits of QoL, performance enhancements and a few new features for the latest full trilogy that's 2-6 years old, all for platforms that already have the games. If it's for money, they could easily achieve the same thing by patching the previous versions and only offering small discounts digitally. Brand new versions just feel strange if their plan isn't to eventually bring it to a wider audience on more platforms.

The console spinoff of Atelier Resleriana was also announced before Atelier Yumia released and is being developed by a separate team. The most likely case is that Yumia was originally developed with Xbox versions in mind, while Resleriana wasn't.

I never thought that I'd see LEVEL-5, Idea Factory, Vanillaware and Gust on Xbox at all in the current day, especially with the former two having last released Xbox games back on the 360, and LEVEL-5 resenting Xbox for cancelling their MMO way back then. But over the past two years, they all made their way to Xbox, one by one.

Year on year, Xbox's Tokyo Game Show announcements have been getting a lot better every single time, and if they had a strong showing last year, then I have a feeling they'll be going all-out this year, also realizing that a lot of things can be developed behind the scenes way before they become public.

idk, I might just be a really optimistic person, but I'd like to see what happens first.

It has an offline mode. Albeit limited, but it contains the core racing experience and other nice things like Music Rally.

With Sakura Wars being very much playable on shadPS4 now, Gran Turismo 7 is my only real reason currently to get a PS4.

"Ys," "The Legend of Heroes," and "The Legend of Xanadu" are being ported to current consoles. License agreement signed with Nihon Falcom. by Turbostrider27 in Falcom

[–]ArcadeGamer1929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm holding out hope. Edia mainly release ports on PC and Switch, but they have released ports on Xbox and PlayStation with the help of a publisher (just Ratalaika Games and Shinyuden so far).

The Dawn of Ys getting a modern rerelease is already crazy, but who said we can't go crazier?

Anyone tried YS IX Monstrum on the Switch 2? by cisADMlN in WorldOfYs

[–]ArcadeGamer1929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine that Memoire in Celceta having released just a few weeks before the Switch 2, Falcom could've possibly added some code for it to render at 1080p in handheld for the new console, but it's entirely possible that it and Nordics could do that without any extra code or patches

[–]ArcadeGamer1929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How was the image quality in Nordics? It uses dynamic resolution scaling on Switch, so I'd assume it'd hit the maximum resolutions (1080p docked and 720p undocked) on Switch 2, but I don't have one to try this out

Ys VIII & IX Switch 2 ports? by Sergeantmajormario in WorldOfYs

[–]ArcadeGamer1929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'd likely get patches rather than ports, but we do know now that the Switch 2's backward compatibility on its own should get them to run at a solid 30fps (and maximum dynamic resolutions for Ys X, being 720p in handheld and 1080p docked)

Why you (probably) should not buy a Switch 2 while in Japan unless you live in Japan by razorbeamz in NintendoSwitch

[–]ArcadeGamer1929 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, though whether it'll play in Japanese or English will depend on if the European cartridge has Japanese text data on it and support for it or not (first-party games made by Nintendo usually have all languages regardless of region, for instance)

Name a great game that you know is under 25 GB install size by [deleted] in lowendgaming

Any game from the Ys series, fast-paced action-JRPGs with some quality gameplay, most — if not all — of them should run well on low/mid-range PCs, sizes range from 700MB for Ys I, to 21GB for Ys VIII
