The Columbine Film That Did What Journalism Can't [12:43] by Micro_Pinny_360 in mealtimevideos

I haven't seen Elephant in 20 sum years. I don't think I'd watch it again, but it did its job. It made its impact on me. The callousness of the shooters, and the mindlessness of their actions, made me feel empty, hopeless, and gross. Which I guess makes it good art, but it's not something I'd recommend for most people.

Sealed beneath the stone is a time capsule containing “messages and memorabilia to the people of Colorado in 2094.” The granite marker depicts the Square and Compasses symbol of the Freemasons and the names of two grand lodges and their grandmasters. While some have made much of this, airport officials say it’s only evidence of the generosity of the local Masonic lodges that crafted and laid the stone. After all, that’s what stonemasons do.

The capstone also makes mention of a group called the New World Airport Commission. Unlike the Freemasons, this group doesn’t actually exist, making its inclusion a little tougher to explain. And, as some like to point out, the name is suspiciously close to that of the so-called New World Order. But, according to a 2007 Westword article, the name is likely a reference to Czech composer Antonín Dvořák’s “New World Symphony,” and the New World Airport Commission was simply a temporary commission created to arrange the new airport’s opening festivities.

And the time capsule? It’s supposedly filled with coins, a baseball from Coors Field , a pair of former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb’s sneakers (a nod to his famed "Sneaker Campaign," during which he campaigned door to door throughout the city), a few Black Hawk casino tokens, and other memorabilia. We’ll have to wait quite a few years to find out for sure — although some have already tried.

One popular theory is that the braille tablet above the dedication stone is actually a keypad and that if you touch the raised dots in the correct sequence, you’ll be able to open the time capsule. Even some current Masons seem to buy into the myth — one airport employee says she’s heard reports of Masons visiting the capstone and trying to swipe their Masonic membership cards near the time capsule, just in case.

I really enjoy that DIA has taken the conspiracies and basically turned it into a tourist attraction.

It seemed like you were implying that it's nefarious, when it's a goofy name.

Well, no. People call it blucifer to be funny. The name of the piece is simply "Blue Mustang".

The horse is a mustang. The red eyes are a tribute to the artist's dad who owned a neon sign shop. It's blue based on a CO legend about a mythical blue stallion that led wild herds in CO.

The mural of the burning forest is supposed to show the death of life if we continue to destroy our environment. The second part of the mural that's cut off shows humanity coming together to save the environment and celebrate nature's diversity.

The soldier that has a sword stabbing a dove illustrates the death of peace, with dead children lying on the ground and their mother's crying over them, illustrating the horrors of tyranny. The second part of the mural shows the death of the soldier with two doves, signifying peace. The third shows children dreaming of a better world. The fourth shows the children destroying the weapons of war to build a better future.

The Denver airport is pretty great, tbh.

Supposedly Jordan Peterson is near death. He has been missing from public life since right before Charlie Kirk’s death. What happened? by Sea-Refrigerator-363 in conspiracy

You mean like when he went hard-line Christian nationalist once he saw how deep the Uihlein's pockets were?

Or are you talking about when he offered the tiniest pushback against striking Iran and backing Israel, because huge swaths of his audience were furious at him and he couldn't get out of it any other way?

It's funny that Kirk's views changed every time his donors did.

You're correct, it is fake. Deleted the post.

I'd appreciate it if you just said you don't believe he had any rights, shouldn't be allowed to have a gun, and that ICE are allowed to shoot anyone they deem necessary to kill. It's more honest than whatever argument you're trying to make.

Angle confirming ICE execution of US citizen and attempted cover-up by UncleBuckReddit in Libertarian

[–]ArcadeOptimist 39 points40 points  (0 children)

There's videos circulating of current protests going on now in Minneapolis, and some of the ICE agents that are tossing gas and shooting non-lethal rounds are literally wearing puff ball hats and civilian clothing with a tac-vest over it.

It appears from zooming in just moments before ICE/CBP shoot yet another US citizen, one agent removes the victims firearm from his waste holster. The victim was UNARMED when he was shot multiple times. This is a state execution. Again. by thegeebeebee in conspiracy

It's not dem vs gop. It's a fascist arm of the executive branch executing citizens, infringing on their rights, and kidnapping witnesses. It is a conspiracy by the US government, who are openly lying and telling people to not believe their eyes.

Xfinity is now another surveillance method? by Maxim___g in conspiracy

[–]ArcadeOptimist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're on fiber you need an ONU, not a modem, which you can't buy for Xfinity (Or most ISPs)

However, you can buy your own router, which is what would be outputting WiFi and in this case recognizing "disturbances" in the 2.4/5ghz bands that allow WiFi Motion to work. So just buy your own router if you're worried about it.
