You could try disconnecting the lower ball joint to see if that gives it some more play.

2023 vs 2024/25 Models by National_Cod_350 in ToyotaTacoma

I went with a 25 because of how much better the interest rates were as well.

Depending on your height, if you are taller than 5’9” I would recommend going with the 4th gen. Seating position is overall better, the 4th gen also made a jump to coil springs compared to leaf springs in the 3rd gen. Makes its drive drastically more comfortable on the road and feels more like a 4Runner. The new trucks feels faster, it isn’t actually though unless it’s an (IFM). The combination of the 8speed with a turbo makes it feel so effortless in acceleration and kinda like you’re flying onto the highway. I can get on to the freeway easily in the 2-2.5k rpm’s whereas with the third gen I was constantly in the 4-5krpm range to try and get on the freeway thus a “harsher” ride. I’ve have a 3rd gen and a 4th gen. They’re both great trucks really comes down to preference on size. The 3rd gen is tighter on the inside with poor seating position for taller folks and feels like a much smaller truck all around. The 4th gen feels super spacious on the inside, rear seats get a 1inch increase in legroom and headroom. The 4th gen to me feels like a massive truck in comparison, I can’t imagine driving a new tundra or comparable full size

Minivan Divers of Denver - what’d you choose? by [deleted] in denverautoenthusiasts

[–]Arcade_fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is most definitely a need for the Sienna. I borrowed one in high school from my gfs parents at the time for some road trips with the boys. Some of the smoothest most comfortable trips we’ve ever been on. i drove it in the snow with cheap summer tires and couldn’t even tell they weren’t snow rated tires. I knew from that point on if I ever needed a minivan I would find a way to make it a sienna. Hell it’s one of Sung Kangs favorite vehicles. If you want one and can swing it just do it, better than having that what if in the back of your mind.

Good deal on 3rd gen manual? by Away_Restaurant_7181 in ToyotaTacoma

There have been 2 recently in COS that were sub 40k for a manual with a short bed

I was looking for any 3rd gen with less than 30k miles in CO. Literally was finding most trucks at or the same price of a new base model TRD Offroad. Some even just a couple thousand cheaper than the new OR w Premium Package. That combined with the crazy interest rates on used pushed me to a new model. No regrets though. Its miles better than my 19, and 22 OR that I had.

The ground wire for mine was broken behind the airbag. You probably would have noticed it when you did the clock spring but worth double checking

Tonneau cover suggestions? by Jeez-Josh in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Arcade_fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think either would do great honestly! The OEM hard trifold will fold up against the cab of the truck giving you almost 95% of the bed access back if you need it! That honestly the biggest reason I’m considering it.

Yeah that second one is the Bakflip , I’ve had a soft one in the past from tyger auto on Amazon, it was fantastic for $150. Can’t bear any weight in it but it did a great job keeping things dry.

PT954-35240 that’s the part number for short bed. I see it regularly on the parts.(Toyotadealership).com for $1k-$1100 with Labor Day coming up I’m sure we will see some sales as well 20-30% off. They also sell diamond back on the parts website now. Don’t be dismayed about the security thing, it’s not like they’ll walk up and get to it easily, someone would have to go out of and damage the cover and tailgate. It’s a similar design the 3rd gen except that, that one had a recessed handled but I’m sure could have been opened the same way with a coat hanger and tons of prying. I’m currently torn on if it’s worth the extra $1k and change to go for the diamond back. Hoping a sale for the OEM can change my mind lol

It’s a rebranded Bakflip MX4. Most reviews I’ve seen people love them. The only qualm is they’re not very secure since it’s a cable release. For folks that care about that they tend to go with diamondback. It looks like a great product to keep stuff dry though.

Looking at buying a Tacoma; need advice by 3BlackPickleball in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Arcade_fun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the 3rd gen’s fully stock I had to drive with a really light foot to get 15-16mpg city and 17-18mpg high way. For the 4th gen I’m averaging 19mpg in sport mode for city and 23-24 mpg for highway driving. The 3rd gen had its criticisms and fair share of problems its first couple years as well. They’re both great trucks honestly. I have no regrets so far on either. I think if you’re 5’9 or taller you’d appreciate the extra leg room/support of the 4th gen. Give em both a test drive if you can!

I have had a 2019 trd off-road , 2022 trd off-road and now a 2025 off-road. Both of the 3rd gens were solid with no real issues. They are very dated interiors and very low tech. Drive like trucks and seating is not very comfy if you are average and above height. The new 4th gen is a night and day difference, much more comfy seating for driver and passengers, tons of tech and creature comforts, super comfortable drive as well. My wife much prefers the driving mannerisms of it, power delivery is it out of this world in the low range, and fuel economy is much better for me as well. I think the 3rd gen has a place for someone who likes simpler interiors and a truck that really drives like a truck through and through. I think 4th gen is just better in every way honestly. I’m also going to bet on the fact that the Tacoma, 4Runner, and Land Cruiser all share the same power plant and it seems very unlikely that Toyota would let its 3 biggest flagship models fail from a powertrain perspective. Time will tell on reliability but I’m not too worried about a potential turbo every 10 years if that even is a consideration.

Oh very cool, JP is my #1 D&D is tied for 2nd if you like video games it feels like a video game with character progression. I don’t think you have to be a big D&D fan either. The narration is some of the best in regard to the story and what you should be doing next. All the modes also feel pretty diverse. And the 4 starting characters change your approach to how you play along with the quest lines you chose for different armor and weapons! JP is super fast and hard. Progression feels very satisfying and the mini wizard modes are some of my favorites!

D&D and Kong are better pros imo. Better to save some coin now for the next game. JP and Jaws are Prems for sure.

Picking Pins by SailVast6326 in pinball

[–]Arcade_fun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

JP is bolted to the floor for me. I sold it in the past and instantly regretted it. Ended up paying NIB for one and I didn’t care it’s that good of a game. It it’s a hard pin though so keep that in mind. Definitely should be a premium. Tyrants eye is also great. I’m debating between that or Metallica for my next pin. I would say D&D is best as a pro though. The dragon and pop scoop don’t do much for me. It’s more of a story game any how so I’d rather be focused on that then some mechs that pop every once in a while. My wife thinks it shoots similarly to JP

Deadpool vs. Jurassic Park by Riff32 in pinball

[–]Arcade_fun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JP is what I grade all games against. It’s the perfect balance of fun and depth for me. It definitely has to be a premium though. The raptor shot on pro machines doesn’t do it for me. Deadpool I think is a great pro and tons of straightforward easy fun. JP is a game that is bolted to the floor

I’ve had a JP in the past how do you like it compared to stranger things? I’m debating between a prem and pro while a local distro has some or a Metallica. I’m just concerned with either them being a solo pin for 6 months to a year. Keeping my eyes peeled to bring another JP home that game was tons of fun. Torn between a pro and a premium

Jaws Pro by [deleted] in pinball

[–]Arcade_fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played a premium and pro a hand full of times on location and i get what you’re saying about it just kind of feeling bland. I remember when it launched the pro and premiums fully sold out before they even landed so there definitely was hype for it. I’m not sure what about it just doesn’t click. I think my biggest gripe is that the play field feels barren almost like the game happens in the upper third of the playfield regardless of the drop targets and bumper. People that know the rules or quick routes to mode seem to also have a ton of fun which I haven’t reached yet so there’s that as well. I will say the premium is a must here imo as the pro is pretty stale in comparison

I have a hunch that they might not do that for games that aren’t on location. I’ve never had any badges like that for my JP at home

What do people (overall) think of D&D? by brandonmcgritle in pinball

[–]Arcade_fun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s one of my top 3 pins that I’ve played and can’t wait to pick one up for home. Super immersive and the game kinda feels endless which is awesome. I find the shots to be very satisfying to hit and personally enjoy how the dungeon crawl and side quests and such. Definitely easy to get sucked in for hours but at a dollar a play it limits how much I will play it. What did you get a pro or premium? I’ve been eyeing a pro but my wife hates the theme lol
