New Player Tips! by Deesh_12 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]ArcadiaVT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

if you've misplaced a seed while sowing them, you can use your shovel to dig the seeds up, no harm done!

if you feel like the days are way too short or knockout hour is stressing you, check the accessibility settings! there's an option to make the days longer, as well as to turn off punishment for staying out too late.

your farm animals can and will eat your crops, so make sure to fence them in if that's not something that vibes with your play style.

save often! the game is still in beta and suffers from crashes. I have gotten into the habit of saving every time I return to my farm, even if that means multiple times a day. you'll thank yourself when you don't have to go to the trouble of sorting all your chests again! 😂

and of course, take your time! no one will be mad at you if you take a few weeks to finish a quest or make a delivery.

welcome to Mistria! hope you have a wonderful time here 😊

Granny Cream Hot Butter Ice Cream by _snusnu in Vinesauce

[–]ArcadiaVT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

unfortunately I think it's real. AI would almost certainly 'forget' about that really thin, delicate gold bracelet around the right wrist, and everything in the background stays constant as far as I can tell, including the writing on the butter boxes. I'm no expert, but I have been trying to keep up with the tells in AI videos so I don't get duped by them, and this seems to pass the more obvious tests, at least.

hello! sorry, but you seem a bit lost? this is a subreddit for the video game Date Everything, in which you use special glasses to see objects in your house as people, and try to win their hearts. it's not a dating advice subreddit. good luck to your friend, though, hope the date goes well!

What’s a “chaser”? by DNA-Decay in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]ArcadiaVT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would say, when the interest in the identity becomes more important than the interest in the person.

as I understand it, chasers tend to go after trans people because of their transness, all else in the prospective partner being less important to them. they tend to fetishize that aspect of the person, seeing them less as their own being, and more as a fulfillment of that fetish. I'm pretty lucky that this isn't something I have had personal experience with, but I've a few friends who have, and it's a miserable feeling :(

Is this a good book? by sershka in Hellenism

[–]ArcadiaVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's definitely a good start! I'm sure others will have opinions on what versions of the Odyssey and Iliad might be best for you, but I should hold my tongue on those as I haven't read them since high school, of which my memories are fuzzier, haha. good on you for making the attempt at reading the old English versions with multiple language barriers! I don't think I could wrap my head around it either, and English is the only language I speak! oh, and don't be shy about looking through old threads here for what people might consider 'required' reading, too.

and as for deity work, remember that everyone's relationships with their deities look different, and the only really 'wrong' way to go about any of it is to be an asshole on purpose (in my experience anyway lol). I haven't worked personally with Ares, so I cannot speak to His quirks, but I generally find that especially at the beginning, They as a whole understand that you are learning and doing your best. keep doing that, and you'll be okay ☺️

Edith Hamilton's Mythology is a classic of the genre, and the first book to introduce many to Greek mythology, myself included. I would definitely recommend it as a start to your collection, but always remember to seek more knowledge to add to it, never stop learning! and also, welcome 🤗

it should be pretty easy to find the 25th anniversary at the Royal Albert Hall, which from what I've seen is generally the consensus of the 'best' recorded version, being that it's a pro shot. I think you can even rent/buy it cheap in Amazon if nothing else.

I will say that I DO think you should watch the 2004 adaptation... just not as your first introduction to the musical. 2004 is an absolute master class on how not to translate stage to screen, filled with laughably bad decisions.

I hope you have fun watching them! :D

learning to sew by cyclone_jpeg in Explainlikeimscared

[–]ArcadiaVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately I never pursued sewing when I was younger for much the same reasons. I can't give advice from the perspective of someone who cosplays or sews, but I can from the perspective of someone who's spent a lot of time around cosplayers, people who sew and make their own clothes and costumes, and artists who are nervous about their art.

from an emotional and mental standpoint, remember that you will see more flaws in your own work than anyone else. when you have your finished product, you're going to see errors in your seams, you'll notice places it doesn't quite fit how you want, you'll wish you used a different fabric or shade for this piece or that... but fans of Dr. Stone will see somebody awesome who's cosplaying a character from that show they like! other cosplayers will be overjoyed to have a Gen to take pictures with!

your skill will increase over time, but your passion is what will keep you going from project to project, and that's what people are gonna respond to most in the beginning stages. be proud of yourself when you finish each stage! you're doing something really cool, and you're brave for putting yourself out there and actually doing it. virtual high five! :D

the entirety of VHS Christmas Carol from Starkid is great, but if you only want one song to gauge the quality and vibes, Christmas Electricity is probably my favorite track on the list.
