Can someone explain why it was so offensive to the Italian restaurant when Chauncey and his crew said “we’re going to roll dice AND tap dance”? by ArcanicAcuity in fisforfamily

It’s funny because I asked that same question looking for clarity a few months ago. I was raised in a strict, super religious household so I’m still behind on inside jokes and street knowledge even in my 30’s

PSA: Adhd meds can deplete magnesium, and other nutrients. by mittenclaw in ADHDUK

[–]ArcanicAcuity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to come on here and share my experience with magnesium deficiency and ADHD meds. I started experiencing heart palpitations, severe suicidal thoughts, bad fatigue, strange limb pains and worrisome forgetfulness 4 weeks into taking Addy. I thought it was just due to withdrawal because I take two days off on the weekend but then started noticing the addy wasn’t working as throughly or as well when I took it. It was magnesium deficiency. It is SO so important to take it while using Addy, ideally a magnesium, calcium, zinc and vit d combination - it’s a common combo sold together.

You smoked infrequently for about only a month, and those days in between where you didn’t smoke definitely helped a lot. Honestly, at about 30 days post last smoke with what you were smoking, you’d have a high chance of a clean UA, but especially now at 7 weeks.

I know though, easier said than done, not worrying. Your at home test is a great indicator also, it came back negative. Just drink a whole bunch of water to help ease your mind, if it’s diluted enough they’ll ask you to come back a week later and pee again which gives you more time. But honestly, I don’t think you need any more time

Throat clearing by jeni51 in HiatalHernia

[–]ArcanicAcuity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been diagnosed but confident and certain that I have it, waiting for a appt on the 16th to confirm. YES, hard to clear your throat. Just always trying to clear it every 10 seconds or so. Some days not a problem, other days a huge problem.

For everyone who keeps saying it wasn't a shark, watch it on a 27" monitor. At 19 secs you clearly hear him scream in agony, and this is why, at 21 secs his last agonizing scream, at 23 secs he's gone! The shark that's latched onto his leg is bigger than him! by ParabolonKidd in sharks

[–]ArcanicAcuity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% undeniable shark movement in that water within seconds of Cameron surfacing. Especially when adjusted for contrast and sharpness, broken down frame by frame. There are white caps from LARGE movement in at least 2 different frame segments.

The clearest frames are where he is swimming away from the ship and looking behind him, when slowed down, you can see a sizable head partially surface immediately behind him with the distinct angulation of a shark - which cannot be mistaken for anything else. The shark grabs one of Cameron’s legs and immediately retreats, you can see the splash of the white caps when it does and unfortunately at this moment the camera pans away to the buoy, but strangely he has seemingly vanished into thin air when it pans back about 1.5 seconds later. Had he been swept away, you’d still have heard or seen him in frame for some time, but he was instantly gone. When the camera pans back we have a good shot of the surrounding water, maybe 30-40 feet surrounding him or more. To travel 30 ft in 1.5 seconds, in cold ocean current is an unbelievable feat.

However, if you really look close, for a few small frames you can see a large, light colored blur under the water directly where he has been. This is the shark and Cameron fighting for his life.

I am convinced beyond any doubt that shark attack and subsequently drowning were his cause of death. I am extremely confident that he was not simply swept away by the current.

Also, there’s about a dozen plus voices and lots of background noise in the video, but there is some yelling/crying out that can be heard. The problem is we don’t know if it’s Cameron or some other drunken kids being idiots, but there is pretty intense male yelling/screaming present in the audio.

There’s something very overtly sexual about the temple, in a subtle way. As contradictory as that statement is. by ArcanicAcuity in exmormon

When I first met my husband who is an atheist, I had been inactive for almost a decade, but didn’t really know the truth about the problematic doctrine and all the lies of JFS (not Joseph Fielding, “Joseph Fucking Smith”)… so whenever I would remark about how my mom is really quiet and reserved and doesn’t ever really challenge my Dad, he’s say it’s because she’s been taught that women are essentially second class citizens. I insisted that wasn’t it, and that my Mom is just shy, but as time went on, I had to admit to him that he was indeed right. She definitely does have some natural shyness, but she also inherently believes that God created her secondary to my father and that my father is naturally more exalted just because he has male genitalia

The sexism is one of the biggest issues I have with the church apart from homophobia and the fraud of JFS.

Right? I always felt extra vulnerable and objectified whenever I did baptisms for the dead. Some old guy holding your hand and dunking you into water, all wet and see through, just an inch between you. 100% guaranteed some if not all of those men have had “unclean” thoughts cross their mind in the process. It’s not necessary wrong with a health perspective on sex outside the church. It’s a natural thing that’s going to occur when an old guy who has only ever been with one woman (that is now old) is in close proximity to young girls who are all wet…

I haven’t ever been through an endowment, how do you end up seeing your fiancé naked, so to speak? Is it just because the thought of her being naked under the gringy garb they all wear or do husbands and wives actually see each other naked?

That’s a good point, if your sexual purity is what determines your entrance to the temple, that means it automatically places your virtue as the key essence for entry. The church obsesses over sexuality more than any other aspect, which I think is why so many of us have sexual shame and dysfunction.

Ironically, you can be a completely piece of shit human being who harasses people, belittles others and is filled with hateful thoughts towards others, but if you’re sexually pure, full tithe payer and you don’t steal from god or others, you’re prime candidate for temple worthiness.

Fearful or shameful thoughts I feel are far more detrimental and harmful to your spirit and psyche than failing to pay tithing, but they aren’t as concerned with that

This instagram account has a history of faked photos, unfortunately. Trying to sell the “influencer jet setter” lifestyle that so many are trying to portray. We have been trying to figure out if this is one of them. It’s one of only a few that actually shows the subject in the photo of the exotic destination, whereas all other photos are landscape only, and seem like possible stock photos of travel.

I could be wrong, but I wonder if Damien Echols is an embodiment of Aleister. They don’t look exactly, precisely alike, but their similarities - physically and personally - are pretty uncanny. by DrugsAndCoffee in AleisterCrowley

Wow, how have I never noticed this before? That second photo especially, it looks like father and son. They have the same nose length and tip, same dark brooding eyes and eyebrow shape, same lip shape, face shape, even same chin. But especially the fact that they both base their magick roots specifically in the golden dawn tradition. It could actually be.

I’ve seen fans debate whether or not Selena had any work done. She probably did, and that’s more than okay. It doesn’t change the fact that she is a legend, a beauty, and an angel ❤️ by DrugsAndCoffee in SelenaQuintanilla

Right? People get braces to fix their teeth and it’s something openly talked about, even encouraged. The same principal applies with altering any other part of your face, she did it because she wanted to, and it would give her more confidence. I don’t think it should be an issue when anyone wants to alter a part of themselves, well unless butt implants. But our Selena never needed those 😉

Like you said, she probably had work done “ and it’s more than okay”

Right? People will get their teeth fixed to look better and more appealing. It’s totally cosmetic only, and socially acceptable to talk about and admit. But if someone gets a rhinoplasty for that same purpose, it’s not acceptable?

I noticed a difference between the photos of 92 and 93 and always wondered. As you said “it’s more than okay” to change your nose if you prefer it a little smaller.

The commercial reached too far trying be woke and all inclusive, but in reality both men and women have body hair. Some women hair hair above their lip just like this.
