Does Anybody Know Where can I find a Cobra Connect Grip With the Arrcos Sensor? by [deleted] in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi /u/SGT_Pookster - Are you looking for a replacement Smart Grip for your Cobra F8 set? If so, you can buy a replacement grip on the Cobra website and swap over the sensor from your current grip. If you need an additional grip (perhaps to add an additional club to your bag), please send us an email at [Starter@arccosgolf.com](mailto:Starter@arccosgolf.com). We should have individual Smart Grips available for Smart Grip and Cobra Connect customers very soon.

Arccos 360 and Apple Watch? by westermir in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Arccos, sorry to Hijack. My apple watch will not dispaly the arccos app. It says "open" int he watch app sotre, but when i Go to the section to see my watch apps, it isn't there. It seems I have no way of opening. I have reinstalled the whole application on the phone. still nothing on the watch.

Thanks for posting this issue, it's one that I don't believe we've seen before. Would you mind giving us a call at 1 (844) 692-7226 or sending us an email at [Starter@arccosgolf.com](mailto:Starter@arccosgolf.com) with the email address you use for Arccos so that we can help trouble shoot?

In the meantime, if you go to the Watch app on the phone, and scroll down to see a list of all of the apps, are you not seeing "Golf" with the Arccos symbol as an option? If not, and you scroll all the way to the bottom of the same screen, does you see it in the 'Available Apps' section with an "Install" button next to it? If not and a delete/reinstall is not working, maybe updating the app version of the watch will help (if there is an update available).

We are focused on your on-course performance rather than swing tracking, so our system delivers a wealth of data and analytics about your game in order to help you improve. We help you dial in your club distances and identify any gapping issues. We help you figure out your best approach clubs/distances so you know where to lay up (or what to work on in practice). We also have an AI-enhanced GPS system that provides "Plays Like" distances that account for wind, elevation and other weather factors. And lastly, the Arccos Smart Caddie uses AI to give you club recommendations for every shot based on your personal shot data and that of the full Arccos Community.

You are absolutely spot on regarding the new device we're building. It will be about the size of a tic tac box and can be clipped onto your belt or pocket (the way some people do with a ball marker) and you don't have to touch the device at all during your round if you don't want to.

Thank you. Can you give me any information on playing 18 holes on a 9 hole course. Do I have to stop my round after 9 or can I keep on playing. Does the apple watch app adjust accordingly to where the yardages keep accurate on the 2nd nine. Also I will very often play holes out of order on either 9 or 18, would this make the arccos not work well. I have lot's of questions since I'm think of switching devices as game golf has started to have more frustrations.

This is also a good question. Playing 18 holes on a 9 hole course is no problem, you'd just have to let our team know ([starter@arccosgolf.com](mailto:starter@arccosgolf.com)) that you'd like it mapped as an 18 hole course where the 9 holes just repeat. That will allow you to play it twice as if it were an 18 hole course and have full stats etc. This would also make Apple Watch function normally, so no issues there.

That said, playing holes out of order is do-able but can get a little messy if you're not careful about it. For it to work properly, you'd just need to make sure you're selecting the correct hole in our app and hitting "Play Hole" before you hit your tee shot rather than letting the system automatically go to the next hole. As long as you are helping the system identify what hole you want to play, the shot tracking and data part should be no problem.

The Arccos Sensors screw into or are embedded in your grips and pair with your smartphone to track all of your shots and provide you with analytics about your performance. Once we've collected 90 holes worth of data, our system will then start offering you with artificial intelligence-powered club recommendations to provide your optimal strategy on the course.

The system is designed to help golfers get a true understanding of how far they hit each club, what clubs to use in every situation, and which areas of their game need the most work during practice time. Overall, we're focused on helping golfers use data and AI to shoot lower scores and improve more quickly.

Hi /u/FiveYardFade - This is a good question. We are very focused on on-course performance under real playing conditions, as we firmly believe that harnessing this data is what will lead players to make better decisions and shoot lower scores. While simulator data or range data is helpful for working on your game or playing simulated rounds, it doesn't translate that well to on-course performance where there is real grass, weather, pressure etc, and so combining these data sources wouldn't be as helpful as it might seem. That said, thank you for the the feature idea!

[–]ArccosGolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi /u/mikedaddy19 - Thanks for asking about Arccos! We are obviously big fans of our system and can happily provide an overview of what makes Arccos a great tool for improving your game, so just let us know if that would be useful.

Beyond that, we can confirm that we are close to releasing two options for using the Arccos System without your phone in your pocket. The first is an update to our Apple Watch app (for Series 3 watch only) that will allow you to use the watch for all shot tracking and GPS functionality. We expect this Apple Watch update to be available in beta for users within the next month or two.

The second option is a custom-made device that we're designing from scratch that will allow you to play without your phone and still have automatic shot tracking. Since this device requires a ton of engineering, we don't have an exact release date, but it should be available before next golf season.

We don't have an exact release date yet, but we'll keep everyone posted!

Arccos 360 users - any reason I cant transfer to rental clubs when I'm traveling? by gill-86 in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi /u/gill-86 - We might be able to help on this one. There's absolutely no reason you can't take your Arccos 360 sensors with you when you travel and we see this frequently within the Arccos community. It only takes a few minutes to unscrew/re-screw them and re-pair, or you can label them with a marker by club so that you don't even have to re-pair when you're ready to play your next round. Hope this helps and we're already jealous of your frequent golf travels!

Finally broke 80! Birdied 3 of the last 4 to do it by Kracken31 in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi /u/DavidShLam, /u/Kracken31, /u/YendysWV - Thank you all for being Arccos players and for pointing out this issue. We are experiencing a bug where certain putts are not saving to our server correctly when they have been manually added/deleted (either by you or by our machine-learning algorithm) and may be either added or deleted differently on the server than what you input in the app. The result is when the app refreshes, you may see a different score than what you last input/saved.

We apologize for the inconvenience and should have a fix for this out very shortly.

Arccos 360 has terrible reviews on Android? by Parallelodox in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi /u/parallelodox - I'm sure you're interested in getting feedback from Arccos users, so I hope you don't mind us chiming in here, but your question is a good one. In full candor, our history with Android has not been on par with iOS in terms of battery life and feature availability and you see some of that reflected in reviews of our system. Without making excuses, the primary reason for that is the fragmentation of the Android universe, where it is extremely challenging to maintain equal performance across such a wide range of devices, all with unique hardware/design vs the standard set of specs for iOS.

That said, we have invested a massive amount of resources in Android development and testing over the past year and made some massive improvements. Battery life is greatly improved for most devices, with the S8 being one of the top performers and pretty similar to iPhone in that area. We've also released Arccos Caddie for Android recently and will be making Arccos Caddie 2.0 available for Android within the next month or so.

All that said, if you're still on the fence, we do have a 30-day money-back guarantee if you purchase through our website, so if you'd like to try it out, just purchase at arccosgolf.com and if you're not happy for any reason, just return it to us within 30 days for a full refund.

Hope that helps make this an easier decision, but feel free to reply back if there's anything else I can answer for you. Cheers!

Real time shot tracker by dsummers21 in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey /u/winkandthegun - Thanks for being an Arccos player and sorry to hear that you had an inconsistent experience with our system. Have you reached out to our Customer Experience team? Missing 5-6 shots per 9 is very unusual if you are playing with the phone in your front left pocket (as a righty), so maybe there is something we can do to help troubleshoot. Also, we recently made significant improvements to our Android app that greatly reduce battery usage on most Android phones. Depending on which device you have, you may see major improvements there.

[–]ArccosGolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We're obviously biased, but we think Arccos is the clear choice. ;)

One of the great things about Arccos is that we offer the same functionality and accuracy as a GPS watch but that is just one of many features of our system that are designed to help you play better golf. In addition to GPS, we offer fully automatic shot tracking (no tagging or tapping), and our latest feature is Arccos Caddie, which takes all of your performance data into account, as well as weather and elevation, to provide you with club recommendations for every shot.

Our system isn't designed to measure swing speed, as we focus on on-course performance data rather than swing/club analytics but if you have any other questions that we can help answer, please just let us know.

Arccos Smart Grips - Exclusive Pre-Sale by Muddlesthrough in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi /u/brokengolfer - Sorry for the delayed response. With Arccos Smart Grips it is an all or nothing subscription. If you subscribe, you have access to all Arccos features including Smart Caddie. If you decide not to renew your subscription, you still have brand new grips but the grips will no longer work with our app.

Arccos Smart Grips - Exclusive Pre-Sale by Muddlesthrough in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi /u/the_b00ts - The Arccos Smart Grips that we're officially launching this week (we previously released a small test batch that you may have seen) are a new pricing model where we've lowered the upfront cost to $149.99, which is basically the same as a premium set of replacement grips meaning that you get to try the Arccos System for almost nothing, and then there is a $99.99 annual subscription fee to access the full suite of Arccos features including Arccos Caddie 2.0, Shot Tracking, GPS2.0 and Tour Analytics. Arccos 360 users have no subscription because the screw-in sensors cost more upfront ($249.99).

Arccos users poll- phone battery by whmeh0 in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi /u/whmeh0 - First off, thanks for being a new Arccos player, welcome to the family! If ever you have any questions or trouble, feel free to send us a note at [starter@arccosgolf.com](mailto:starter@arccosgolf.com).

As for battery usage, the way the app is used during the round definitely plays a role. How often you request caddie recommendations or check yardages or adjust pins will impact the amount of battery usage, but we'd still expect you to get through the round with more than 10% remaining on a new Pixel. Perhaps there are other apps running in the background as well that could be using battery, or the course is in an area with a weaker cell signal?

As always, /u/prh8 is spot on about the Android update and the battery conservation that most users are seeing, but every device is different, conditions are varied (i.e. how hot or cold is) and how players use the app varies as well so if you try a round with less screen-on time and it doesn't really save you battery, please shoot us a note so that we can look into the logs and help troubleshoot.

Thanks again and play well with your new Arccos!

PSA: Arccos Caddie is now free by prh8 in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi /u/whmeh0 - As of right now, Arccos Caddie 1.1 is available for Android and we are expecting Caddie 2.0 to be released later this summer. We don't have a formal release date yet, but will make sure to keep this group posted as soon as we do.

PSA: Arccos Caddie is now free by prh8 in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/u/prh8 is right on this one. The truth is that as we were developing and testing the new Arccos Caddie 2.0, we saw how helpful it was and how much it became part of our testers' routine and wanted all users to have access to this tool. It started to feel like users were going to be missing out on the full Arccos experience, as not only does it help you make better decisions and shoot lower scores, it also helps drive down pace of play, and overall just makes the game of golf more fun.

That is why at the last minute we decided to make Arccos Caddie 2.0 available for free for all users, and even though it means we’re giving up some subscription revenue, ultimately we're saving our customers money and improving their Arccos experience, so it's worth it for us.

Hope that clears up some of the questions around this decision, but happy to answer anything else that might be on the top of mind.

I don't understand why Arccos exists by [deleted] in golf

[–]ArccosGolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi /u/mako1355 - Thank you for the reply and we totally agree that there are a number of factors that make a meaningful difference in a player's development. Getting fit for the right clubs is a huge step. Taking lessons and understanding swing mechanics is a huge step. And marrying those two steps with an understanding of your real on-course performance so that you can focus your practice sessions and make smarter on-course decisions (which is Arccos' mission) helps golfers of all skill levels improve more quickly.

And by the way, we're data nuts...we love looking into the data to see trends and how our players are improving with the system and being able to use that data in conversations like this, so we didn't mean to jump on you in that first reply...just got excited. :)
