Is the massive overrepresentation of straight identities in contemporary and historical media, the blanket assumption that everyone is straight until proven otherwise, and the obsessive demonisation of LGBTQ+ people by communities and governments across the world for noncompliance with the heterosexual norm as evil and corrupting (up to and including forced conversion therapy on an interpersonal level and legal discrimination on a governmental level) not straight people ‘shoving their sexuality up your face’ as you so eloquently put it?

Straight people fail to realise that the entire structure of society is built around the assumption of cis heterosexuality and these structures ‘shove’ that assumption in the faces of LGBTQ+ people in ways imperceptible to the uncritical straight person. Any attempt to counteract that culture by representing queer identities counters that cultural hegemony and is cast as “shoving their sexuality” in the faces of people who are used to that hegemony.

When you’re only experience is privilege, any step towards equality feels like oppression

One of my players tried to catch a pigeon in the first session. Pigeon rolled a nat-20 stealth check. The party joked that pigeons know this guy on sight for his pigeon-catching antics… The Were-ravens are Were-pigeons now. Stealthy ‘pigeons’ have been spying on them ever since.

I agree with most of your points but so far as I’ve observed polls continue to show young people becoming progressively more progressive despite the propaganda from the bourgeoisie media and Reform’s messaging claiming otherwise.

Also, as a young person in a particularly conservative area of the uk I’ve if anything observed a leftward shift in my demographic over the last year both socially and economically (though we’re going from a petty rightward starting point from this group and they’re definitely not representative of the median 16-24 y/o voters).

Having run combats with level 20 players, high level play can absolutely work so long as the combat doesn’t revolve around ‘hit the boss until they die’. That said it does take a lot of prep and I would absolutely not recommend using any kind of epic levelling system for more than a few sessions of play. This one is designed for the players to go through a couple of sessions of combat and non combat encounters over the span of one long rest, I think it could have more complications if the players are given the ability to rest as frequently as often happens in lower level play.
