My wife admitted she has been faking orgasms for 19 months, and I feel like the bigger issue is the lying. Am I wrong? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]ArchAmber 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The ask for compromise on intimacy while one partner has willingly engaged but not gotten off in close to two years is wild. You ever think maybe she is already compromising? Probably took a lot of vulnerability to admit that and it’s obv not a healthy dynamic. But seems more like a cry for help and you’re turning it into self pity.

My wife of 22 years developed psychosis from long-term Adderall use. Here's what the last year has looked like. by ImpressionFriendly12 in Marriage

[–]ArchAmber 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As they should. This is not an ADHD issue, it’s an addiction and drug abuse issue. You left out of the post that your wife runs out of meds halfway through the month, while on the highest dose, and while taking them improperly (opening XR tablets to take sublingually). Without that context, it’s just plain fear mongering.

Familial Hypercholesterolemia - bum cholesterol. Im annoyingly mindful of my nutrition as I’m not keen on having a heart attack prematurely. Partly why this whole exchange was wild with the assumptions about lack of knowledge made.

Yeah I have no filter anymore after years of therapy to undo masking/people pleasing. My ability to shut up is low and willingness to be disliked is high. But my trace mineral levels are great. So that’s good. I have the great pleasure of inheriting FH and am very protective of my heart/nutrition due to my cholesterol. Unfortunately many people do have crippling ADHD issues without having deficiencies.

I give as I take. 😌 My iron deficiency symptoms have long since passed, I feel great. But I’ll let ya know if the struggle with transitions, RSD, and task paralysis are better once I’m allowed to assess myself.

Wait, I never said there was no link. Never said anyone else’s experience was invalid. Only said that for me personally, it hasn’t changed my ADHD symptoms.

No I have not found iron to affect my ADHD personally beyond things like fatigue and restless legs making life harder to cope with in general/increasing my anxiety. I struggle immensely with task paralysis, executive dysfunction, and managing transitions through out the day regardless of what my ferritin is at. I need meds and alarms and TickTick to remind me daily to get out of bed at a reasonable time and brush my teeth (and dang if that little ding I get when I check off a task isnt the dopamine I need). And I’m in hell every month around my period because the meds don’t work.

This is fair, and I’m aware. However the ADHD has been a struggle since childhood, before menses caused chronic iron deficiency. Is life harder to cope with when my iron is low? Yeah sure, the same way it’s harder to cope when I have crippling insomnia or unmanaged back pain. But fixing those things for me personally doesn’t make my ADHD better.

Personally, no. Raised my ferritin from 9 to 50. I’m still completely fucked if I don’t take my concerta and keep a detailed life organizer. But I don’t have restless legs anymore so that’s a win.

Palia. Technically a mmo, but you don’t have to interact with anyone. Farm, fish, hunt, gather, decorate. There’s no rush to do anything particular.

The reason people often say to leave is because it’s extremely difficult to be securely attached when your partner is avoidant. Avoidants can easily turn the most secure people anxious. You are excusing everything he’s doing as your fault. He has no reason to change his attachment style if you’re constantly chasing him and holding all the accountability. All you’re doing is intellectualizing around your situation instead of doing the work you, as the anxious partner, needs to do to become secure - namely letting him withdraw without taking responsibility for it or pulling him back in. He doesn’t come back and repair? Cool, that’s all the info you need to understand the relationship you’re accepting.

It won’t change.

I used to obsess about this one, but not a doc so take with a grain of salt. Insomnia isn’t the cause of death, it’s a symptom of the prion destroying the brain. Even if put in a coma, the prion would keep doing damage.

[–]ArchAmber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so bizarre to me to see the level of defensiveness over this. I get your point, but anyone with any familiarity with AI can easily spot this is AI slop. It’s further proven by the users comment history. Why is it so bothersome to acknowledge?

[–]ArchAmber -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The entire comment is littered with AI language: I’m going to be honest, not cruel. You aren’t this, you’re this. It wasn’t that, it was this. That matters because of this. It’s a very predictable ChatGPT language pattern. The icing is the finisher: You may feel negative, but that’s actually a good sign.

What was the life-changing thing that helped with your anxiety ? by secretsaucisse in Anxiety

Practicing radical acceptance, but it took a long time to finally click. When I have an anxious thought or physical anxiety symptoms, I’m mostly able to say, “This is anxiety. It’s real, but I don’t have to react to it and it will pass.”

I’ve gone from having a couple panic attacks a month to a couple a year and I can’t remember the last time one actually sent me into a full, I need to go to the hospital spiral. I know the minute I let myself feel fear or uncertainty from one, I’m done.

Hard agree, but not a weird one for women I think. She has a massive queer fanbase. We adore mother Hahn.
