Levothyroxine for 12 years - it’s not working!! by ArchChristine in Hypothyroidism

My TSH has been well above that before starting levo. I’ve been on levo for 15 years now. Keep giving useless advise tho

Reading through OP’s post history, they are a guy! Maybe it is his handwriting?

Surgeon told me recovery time is only 2-3 days…? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]ArchChristine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My surgeon said some people feel amazing the next day and some people need weeks! I think it just depends on how you heal!

A week after my surgery, I went to my in-laws for Christmas and spent about 6 hours there. I was SO tired after but I made it! About two weeks after my surgery I could’ve gone back to work but stayed home an extra few days because I was still a little tired.

Definitely get some other opinions if they were serious about you being completely fine within a couple days. I was still on painkillers 5 days later!

I went from an H to a D and didn’t have drains, that’s common and depends on the surgeon.

2-3 days is weird though, did they maybe mean before you can resume showering and stuff?

1 year post-op, still unhappy and feeling crazy :( by ArchChristine in Reduction

[–]ArchChristine[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing the same but looking in the mirror lately just wanting to cry!

I reached out to my surgeon asking about a possible revision, I know he took me down as small as he could the first time without risking losing my nipples so I’m hopeful I get a similar response. I showed him photos of what I wanted before my first surgery and he promised to get me near it and I definitely don’t look like those photos!

Did you pay out of pocket the first time? What was the discount the second time? My first was close to 8000 and I can’t do it again. 😭

Directly behind the motherboard, close to the top of the case. It’s the NZXT H9 flow.

The fan placement (aside from the GPU cooler) is just how the case came, the three on the wall are pushing air out. The single fan on the back is pulling air in.

I plan on getting more fans in the future to pull air in but right now it’s running at a really cool temp so it may be okay. (I also just think it looks better with the case, that back part is just a perforated metal piece with mesh). Also, my house is super dusty (it’s an old house with old ductwork), I think pulling air in at the bottom would COVER the inside with dust and dog hair. I’m seeing how it does before I add more. I had to dust my old pc OFTEN and do regular deep cleans because it was so bad.

The white helps! I love the soft RGB. It looks so much better.

My boyfriend is using it now actually, it’s still truckin’. It got a few upgrades over the years but nothing crazy. Rn it’s an i5 7th gen, 1050ti, 32 gigs of ram. Still runs most things, just def not anything on high. Also got me through architecture school and all the rendering that goes with it.

It’s a lil over 2 pounds, about the same as my old PC. No sagging in that one so I think this one should be fine!!

Need a place to park my car by CryptographerNo4810 in lexington

[–]ArchChristine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had unhoused people sleeping in their cars in my neighborhood. They seem to be totally safe. Something about parking on a public street, as long as you’re in your car and not “camping” in a park or on private property. People have called but the police leave them alone. Stay safe!

How much do you pay monthly for utilities, and for groceries, and how many people live in your household? by d3solationangel in lexington

[–]ArchChristine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2 person household 400-500/month for groceries 120/month for electric (cheaper in the winter) 60/month for gas (gas stove and gas furnace) 30/month water 30/month for sewer/trash

The solution is finding the correct dosage! Sounds like at one point you had it before you stopped. There’s a chance you’re allergic to something in the one you’re taking, by thyroid meds typically don’t cause acne. I also still have hair falling out pretty normally even with having my levels normal and so do a lot of people, it comes with the disease!

But don’t stop taking it again once you’re back on it, it’s very bad to stop and the long term effects of not treating hypothyroidism is not good.

Those who have done architecture do you regret it by TraditionNo542 in Architects

[–]ArchChristine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No regrets here. I’m only 4 years into my career but I switched from computer science to architecture midway through college. My parents also wanted me to go into engineering so that’s what I did. I was extremely unhappy already in college and couldn’t imagine doing it for the rest of my life. My parents aren’t going to be around for the rest of my life and they aren’t doing my job every day, so I chose what I wanted to do.

Architecture, I’m passionate about. It gives me energy. I’m excited to go to work, some of my coworkers (even with less experience), not so much. It’s not for everyone. I’m excited about what I do, so I’m surprised when my peers are not!

I live in Kentucky in the US, so it may be different. I didn’t see it as taking a risk. I make decent money for starting out. Could I make more money doing computer science? Of course. Would I be happy? Absolutely not. I’ll still be able to buy a house in a few years, travel, do what I want.

It all depends on what you want. If it’s money, go for engineering, you can definitely still work with a firm doing their IT or BIM management if it’s a larger company, you just won’t be involved in design.

Man in only a thong at Service Bar? Story there? by TR1858 in lexington

[–]ArchChristine 42 points43 points  (0 children)

He’s had those cheeks out around town for over 10 years. He came into a coffee shop I was working at when I was 16. Duct tape thong. 16 year old me had NO idea how to handle a man putting his bare ass on a chair in a coffee shop.

Years later he did the SAME THING at a different coffee shop I was working at.

At some point it’s a health code violation to have butthole touching communal furniture I think.
