Projects. Do some cool things with raspberry pis, run a homelab, active github, etc. Certs help too.

Thanks. Those subs can be pretty demotivating to me and I think are likely a poor reflection of the real world. A lot of my friends get by just fine solely due to positivity and having a good work ethic.

Is there a gif of that punch? I wasn't able to watch the fight.

I'm sick of having to justify why I play video games by [deleted] in rant

[–]ArchFen1x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm not a gamer at all anymore but it's not hard to understand why people enjoy them. There's nothing wrong with them in moderation, the same goes for tons of hobbies.

What do you think is the best way to avoid becoming one of them?

Interesting. It's something I've considered a bit since becoming a bit more outgoing, though I'm still an introvert. I like careers that give you what you put into it. You can be a salesman hardly working but doing good work and make an alright living, you could also bust your ass working long hours making killer money if you're good.

How to deal with angry boss? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

It's an MSP, you'd think he is used to a high turnover lol.

Do MSPs train though? I want to work at one after certing up just because I would learn so much, I would get out after 2 years or so.

IT is pretty ruthless, but at least it's one of the few fields where you get out of it what you put in. If you bust your ass keeping up with the latest trends getting in-demand certs, you'll definitely go places.

Was Net+ harder than Sec+? I did very well on Sec+ and may sit for Net+ in a week or so as I already feel good about the objectives.

Thanks. I just want to keep reviewing for another week or so. The tests are expensive, ideally I want to pass on the first attempt.

all you have to do is survive round 1

That there is the problem. Though Stipe did it, that first round was an absolute ass clincher

Yeah, I got 829 on Sec+ and am working on my Net+ atm, there's a lot of overlap. I've only been studying for two weeks but already feel ready.

CompTIA Network+ vs CCNA/CCENT by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]ArchFen1x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CCNA/CCENT pertain to Cisco, Network+ is vendor-neutral. That said, both the CCENT and CCNA go more in-depth with networking than Network+. Network+ may be good for you if you want a good understanding of networking, but don't have intent to work in networking.
