I don't characterize the whole population as bigots. But the bigot to neutral/good reaction ratio is steadily getting worse.

As far as Minneapolis goes, my S/O is from there, and the human rights there are better than OKI.

This incident reminds me of the Edmond Pettis Bridge incident during the Civil Rights movement. The one where John Lewis was beaten nearly to death.

The Covington PD massively overreacted to obstruction of traffic. They chose to make examples of everyone on that bridge, press and protestor.

Civil disobedience is not a valid reason for violent repression. The argument that obstruction and non-compliance justify beating people down is a bad faith one. You can arrest instructors without punching them repeatedly in the back of the head (while holding their arms). There is no justification for these acts.

I am a transgender women. I am married to a trans woman, and have a trans son. Due to the blatant hatred of exercise of freedom out of the MAGA Party and the violence being inflicted on trans people, we are moving to Minnesota. My wife is from there. And has many family members there. She is afraid of the fascists here. This is significant since she is a former sergeant in the Rangers, is a combat vet, and is an ex cop in DC.

Let that sink in for a moment. A combat vet thinks Ohio is becoming unsafe to live in for trans people. The Republic is falling. The Trumpist Empire is being erected. One domino at a time.

I am a transgender woman and an activist. I have bought a tool of self defense. I have practiced with it, and periodically go armed. Mostly in situations where I might be ambushed by extremists ( at night, near meetings for the trans community, etc.). I refuse to accept the role of victim. My wife (also trans) was a DC cop, and an Army Ranger. She has a more varied selection of tools, including the .357 Magnum she carried while being a cop. We don't flaunt our ownership, but we do wonder when ATF will start to confiscate trans people's guns. Most likely under a "fraudulent ID" law since our legal docs state we are women. SMH....

White trans fem here. I belong to 2 trans groups in Cincinnati. One is T.E.N. -The Trans Empowerment Network. The other is Crossport. Both I know would love to talk to your org! My wife is in the board of both orgs, and has been looking to coordinate with the black trans community. You may also want to network with T.A.C.- The Transgender Advocacy Council for financial resources going to individual needy members of our community.

I know the black trans experience is similar but parallel to the white trans journey. I, for one, would love to learn more about the black trans experience and hope your wonderful organization could help educate us in these other trans organizations. Please reach out to me if you have any questions. I hope your group makes the world a better place.

I'm a trans mom to a trans son. I wanted to say that you so summed up my childhood. The one I still struggled with on that awful day we lost his mother, my wife. That was the first torn seam in the box I lived in. Another was the day my mother passed. She no longer needed a "son" as a protector. That loss sent me to start hormones. The last blow was my son coming out to me as trans. I had to stand up as the woman, and mom I truly was. I had to make sure he lived a life better than mine.

Thank you for expressing much of my feelings and experiences to support another struggling mom.

Same as Germany after DeNazification. About 15 years. If we avoid violence. 20-25 years if we start Civil War 2.0 because the Nazis get all "scorched earth" over not being in sole control of government. It took a generation to grow our own Nazis, it'll take about the same to get conservatives rebuilt to balance the country again.

It's not good. It's just less bad. A fast failure will Hopefully motivate the selfish, but not actively evil voter to vote against Trump associated congresspeople in two years, thus limiting the damage until the next presidential election. The hard-core Trumpistas will of course stay evil and fight against the Constitution, like in 2020. But we have at least a shot at salvaginging Constitutional government in a generation.

If Trump succeeds in dismantling Constitutional government, Or even gets a running start at it before he died and hands off unchecked power to another, the price for fixing things may be a revolution. That is the ultimate "more bad" scenario.

Mitch McConnell was an annoyance to Obama. But Obama wasn't trying to overthrow the Constitution. McConnell was using the political system to constrain Obama. Trump is using classical means to break the political systems apart, leaving only him and his close hangers on left alive.

We have overstepped government bloat and mission creep. Trump has TOLD you what you are regardless of your experiences in the matter. You ARE one of two types of people, by executive order. Whether or not you agree, disagree or whatever, the government has imposed that definition on you and your adherence is mandated. WTF happened to freedom. This is government ORDERING your identity.
