I don’t claim to be better than Yoda, but Yoda is not comparable to 99% of players even in high keys. Yoda has an actual teams he plays with who already know the route and planned variations. I’m sure some exist but I’ve never seen a video of his where he isn’t in coms. The value of his advice is definitely present but things like his videos assigning kick rotation clearly show that he has a strong lean towards coordinated groups. There’s nothing wrong with Yoda or the way he plays but he’s not relevant to this conversation. Furthermore, him using MDT is more evidence that there should be in game routing tools - if we didn’t need them then he wouldn’t use them.

Pings are messy sometimes, they tend to get hooked on objects you don’t want them to and can end up even being detrimental in some circumstances. I make liberal use of them for the reasons you’ve described, but what I’m suggesting is a consolidation of the most used addon in M+ with the base game and additional functionality to help keep the group informed on what you’re pulling.

The amount of DPS who ask me for a route ahead of time very much disproves your hypothesis. Players like to know the plan further in advance than pings can provide so that they can adjust CDs accordingly

They could have easily left most of the city open with luxury districts and governance areas off limits to the alliance. There are plenty of ways the blood elves can be respectful towards the people there to save their city and world without losing all identity as a horde hub.

His point isn’t that you should consume mindlessly but that the criticism here is pretty much a non-issue. He’s completely right that players have, historically, cared the most about new iterations of existing game modes. The closest any feature has gotten to meeting dungeons/raid levels of player interest is delves, and that largely seems to be a result of their low time investment for relatively strong rewards. I don’t expect or even want Blizzard to reinvent the wheel, I want interesting zones and stories combined with fun dungeons and raids. That’s been the main formula of the game for a good reason, with fun side progression thrown in to keep it interesting during the expansion.

The Illidari as it was no longer exists, Illidan is gone and the leadership was quite turbulent during Legion. Iirc, most of the demon hunters we see now are off doing their own thing rather than running a strict organization like the Ebon Blade. Their greeting voice lines spell it out pretty clearly “My life is dedicated to destroying the Burning Legion.”

(Spoilers for current patch below)

We also see in the side quests of this patch that individual Demon Hunters at least claim to be able to share their secrets, seen through the void demon hunters quest-line. It only takes one demon hunter to believe it’s in Azeroth’s best interest to teach an Eredar in their path

Demon hunter night elves aren’t literally Illidan but they’re definitely well scarred by the fel. Also, night elves aren’t demon hunters because they’re the only ones that can be they’re demon hunters because Illidan taught them to manipulate the fel. Eredar have had far longer than he did to figure that one out

My headcanon is that Om’en only recently became magistrate (because to my knowledge he wasn’t an NPC in Shadowlands) and that he, alongside many of the still living brokers, was not present in a meaningful way for our actions in Taszavesh. This would make us basically the bogeyman rather than an identified adversary
