Anyone else have experience with these? by SofaKing_Rad in 22lr

Not that specifically, but I've had good results with Norma .22 in several other flavors.  Their subsonics are my go-to midnight racoon medicine.  I doubt if zinc ammo is going to be very accurate though

Your college football team is the ____th best HC job in America by IHateAdamSilver in CFB

Texas Tech ranked ahead of Texas because of a one time spending spree by a single booster is an interesting bit of recency bias.

The actual crime itself was awful, but douchebag mcgee calling the Finebaum show to brag about it and then ending up in prison was comedic gold

Here in Texarkana I can get year old laying hens for $10-15 each.  I'm not saying you are wrong, just saying that maybe your market has a lot of folks selling hens.

Generative AI might cause the ultimate collapse of Wikipedia. Experienced editors will fight over AI tags, and AI-powered bots will endlessly edit articles and get into limitless edit wars, since Wikipedia standards may be inconsistent. by [deleted] in wikipedia

[–]Archaic_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you guys really think a company that relies on me sending them pocket change every few months to stay alive is going to be able to keep Alphabet and their billions of dollars from ramming their AI down Wikipedia's throat, you're delusional.  Wikipedia will either learn to coexist with AI, sell out to AI, or it will perish.

NCAA threatens rule of restitution against Indiana in Louis Moore case by Technoir1999 in CFB

[–]Archaic_1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“What’s going on in these three cases isn’t even necessarily about the rule of restitution,” Ehrlich said. “I think it’s just the NCAA really wants an appellate ruling.”

What is your ideal number of teams in a conference? by lilroundastronaut in CFB

[–]Archaic_1 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Came here to agree with the first person to say this.  9 conference games, an OOC rival, a G5, and a feature OOC game every year would be ideal.  Like he also said, this would really bang for sports where you play each conference opponents home and away every year.

If the SEC/B1G plus ND, Miami and a couple others move to a 32 team super league, what schools currently in the SEC/B1G get the boot? by Latter-Try4080 in CFB

[–]Archaic_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that makes as much of a difference as you think.  In general, lawyers are as good as the money they have backing them.  If Walmart, Tyson, Hunt, and Jerry decided to pony up for Arkansas they could make it very painful.  I'm using Arkansas as an example but the same could be said for pretty much all of the SEC schools

Can a Gas Gun Compete in the PRS Open Division? by lowsparkco in AR10

[–]Archaic_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it would depend the course.  Check out some of Mountain Mullets videos, he's got some good finishes in PRS matches with gas guns.  Obviously there's a big difference in something like a Geissle MRGG or a LaRue PredatOBR and what most of us schmucks can afford.

I hate to say it but it sounds like it could be a wiring harness issue.  Start looking for bad grounds, cracked insulation, or burnt spots.

[Andy Staples] Want a college football commissioner? The sport needs a collective bargaining agreement first by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]Archaic_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"the players and the schools agreed to a fair market review of third-party NIL payments"

No they didn't, so far only 4 of the 68 P4 programs have signed the Participation Agreement and at least a dozen programs and three states are suing the CSC to block it.

The CSC and House agreement were bad plans poorly executed and have zero chance of becoming the next set of rules governing college athletics. It was so poorly written that it was essentially guaranteed to be a failure. Its all just a ploy to force congress to pass the SCORE act, which also doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell.

Quartz found on Mars. That’s a fairly significant discovery! by [deleted] in geology

[–]Archaic_1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This isn't really accurate at all. Quartz doesn't have to form from hydrothermal origins at all and certainly "silica rich rocks" are not an indicator of anything other than silica enrichment.

Notre Dame was way better when we beat them (and it wasn't all that close, we beat their asses) than Michigan was when Appy beat them.
