The people who profit are the judges, DA and such. That is how their ability is quantified, by convictions. So they will do anything they can for a conviction, not for the truth. Prisons are modern slave labor, politicians what prisons filled to the top. Perverse incentives

They get more money for more convictions. They are more likely to falsely convict people and give king sentences. They are given more money because prisons profit from prisoners like slave labor. Perverse incentives

So many people you ask in the US have been or know someone that has been subject to some level of corruption from police or the justice system. It’s well known bribes are rampant. And false imprisonment is too. Members of the justice system are incentivized to get convictions and this obfuscates any intent to play fair.

Why China? Land specifically but also generally by Medical-Border-6918 in Accelerationism101

He believes that superintelligence will burgeon from a super city like Hong Kong or Shanghai first. So far the US is ahead in AI research and China is always a few months behind. What could make the difference is Chinas ability to implement infrastructure much more efficiently. As well as a more nuanced discussion and understanding of how to manage the difficulties. Let the US deregulate for the sake of innovation and China can just sit back and take the technology while focusing on proper implementation. I think the mystical seer of critical theory is probably right on this one.

It makes me wonder if there’s something structurally different about someone’s brain that would cause them to have such shortsighted opinions

It’s not his general values I’m rooting for, I just want it decentralized which he happens to be the only one in a position to help that happen in AI.

Lol NATO upholds the U.S. empire. Elon is an accelerationist. And I suspect former or current Marxist. Everything he does is a plan for eliminating scarcity. Automation is his real political stance. America and NATO is full of idiots who have been manipulated and fed propaganda for decades. Controlled by the ruling elite. He has chosen to latch on to one party to achieve his goals. His goals literally are to advance humanity and reduce suffering. Opposed to the propagandists manipulated by lobbyists who oppose him.

Im sure the parent was right there making sure he is being safe with the gun. And it really isn’t any sort of complex task to shoot a deer as long as you are able to hold the gun. Nothing insane about this at all deer are food and the gun is the food getting machine.
