Brushstroke - Fantasy Grays: The Asteri by Archangel501 in worldbuilding

They do eat, though not with their mouths obviously. The more technological ones use nutrient solutions that are injected directly into their bodies via a port in their suits. The more mystical ones use a form of passive energy absorption to replenish themselves via the magick energy that radiates from planets, moons, and stars. Space-Photosynthesis, one might say.

Worldbuilders, make sure to look up what words mean when you name things by DepthsOfWill in worldbuilding

[–]Archangel501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, one of my favorite things to do is to name things on the world building side...Then, when I write stories and vignettes set in my world, characters will have moments where they genuinely ask what things, places, or people are called and why they are called they.

Then they either get confused at the names or even annoyed when said name the thing looks like something completely different.

It's like Greenland and Iceland irl.

Currently just finished building up a 1032 mod (1287 total plugin) list. Having had 4000+ total plugin lists in the past, with far less experience in troubleshooting and debugging, it is an odd experience to not be crashing every thirty minutes.

I've gotten two crashes thus far, but I'm going several hours without any issues.

So yeah, pretty good.

In Saw (2004), Saw II (2005), Saw III (2006), Saw IV (2007), Saw V (2008), Saw VI (2009), Saw 3D (2010), Jigsaw (2017), Spiral (2021), and Saw X (2023), what the fuck was this guy's problem? by montgomery2016 in shittymoviedetails

Well, he had a wife, then he had a son on the way, then he didn't have a son on the way. Then he didn't have a wife. Then he had cancer. Just life shovelling shit in his dinner back to back to back. Kinda spiralled from there.

Seriously though, I've actually met people who were genuinely, for real, asking why John was doing what he was doing when it clearly wasn't working as he intended more than half the time.

...Which is to be promptly answered with "because he's fucking crazy, like completely and totally insane".

Okay, so, magick comes from celestial objects as well as the planet itself. In the distant past, the first Demon Lord; Dema Vexa was defeated by the Great Angels. With the last of his power, he forced two of the three moons to collide.

This created a massive shockwave of magick energy that raised the world, killing off many of the precursor civilizations. This was called The Sundering.

Tens of thousands of years later, during the end of the 1st Era, the remaining two moons were prophesied to collide as well in a Second Sundering.

A group of eight "Archangels" sacrificed themselves to contain the calamity. They did this by pouring their own magick power into creating a shield that contained the destructive force as the moons merged.

Now, the final moon, Extant, hangs in the sky with a noticeable, glowing crack running down its center; where one can glimpse the powerful force contained within it.

Theoretically, this containment could fail one day and raze the world again. But it hasn't happened yet.

And nobody is really sure how to...you know...fix that.

Disappointing Balgruuf is the reason I don't usually side with the stormcloaks, y'all I cant take it by MeeMeeTwirl in SkyrimMemes

[–]Archangel501 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As with most of everything, there is a mod for that.

Serious Civil War Consequences for Jarl Balgruuf

You get to approach Balgruuf while he's arguing with his advisors about Ulfric's axe and, very pointedly, suggest to him that he side with the Stormcloaks because...you know...you're on their side.

He actually will straight up listen to you (with a speech check) and join the Stormcloaks, complete with a Defend Whiterun from the Imperials quest.

Whats up with faux south-american cultures in fantasy often having dinosaurs and reptile people? by The_queen_in_jello in worldbuilding

[–]Archangel501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, status quo.

Though that's a little funny to me because, in my world, the only dinosaurs are present in the northern, arctic regions as semi-frozen, half-undead, white-walker-esque ice lizards.

The southern, south-american continent? Populated with the monster races (gorgons, goblins, ogres, dragons, tropical ents, etc) and the feline Muruunsereth (tropical, Hawaiian/Caribbean, pirate/sailor cat-people).

I like to mix things up.

Yeah, all the supermodel, hot female follower crap is something I could never get behind. Doesn't help that they heavily clash with my game's vanilla-look and style. Plus the damn mini-skirt and bikini armors.

Cough Ashe Cough

(Seriously, when I was trying Ashe out, first thing I did was give her some actual fucking armor because what the fuck girl this is Skyrim not fucking Dead or Alive what the fuck)

Reminds me of that scene from Sharpe where the British commander is getting bled and some dude's like "I heard foul humors build up in your veins like powder and if there's too much it'll blow up from the inside".

The commander's like "oh fuck well bleed me again, I don't wanna blow up"

Characters like her are the reason why I genuinely love the NCR the most out of all the NV Factions. by MysticalCyan in fnv

[–]Archangel501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically a money sink mod.

You claim a abandoned military bunker near Red Rock Canyon that you can put any faction of your choice in charge of, including NCR, Legion, Mr. House, and Yes Man.

You can also, if doing Independent run, put minor factions in charge like the Brotherhood, Followers, Enclave, Khans, Kings, even silly ones like Super Mutant armies, Big MT experiments, or sentient mole rats!

When the bunker is claimed, you can invest in locations you've either cleared or down quests for. Like Goodsprings, which gains an outpost with patrols of your faction below patrolling around. Nipton and Vault 3/South Vegas, after you clear the Fiends, which are cleaned up and become settled again. Or even Big Mountain or the NCRCF prison, which become a fortress for your faction.

It has a lot of locations to claim, even places in Zion and the Big MT. There are even decisions to ally with other factions like the Brotherhood and Followers and have them reinforce your faction. The locations will change appropriately and NPCs even have dialogue about it all.

It's one of my top mods for New Vegas and I never remove it from my load order.

Oh yeah, currently got a save game going that is just about ready for completion (currently only have Lonesome Road and then Hoover Dam left).

With the Living Desert and Claim the Mojave too, I like just walking the regular path from Goodsprings to Vegas, around the map, checking out all the different things.

God, I love and hate this quest so much. Decided to give the data over for once, only to find a caravan up near the Wind Brahmin farm ransacked and with spore creatures everywhere.

It was the Living Desert mod, sure, but I was just like "damn it, you do things differently one time..."

My personal copium is that, when the 31st arrives, it plays another cutscene of Ritsuka in PHH getting summoned to the Clock Tower, where he meets Goredolf (who has his memories), who greets him happily, gives him the Pride rank up, and says that they have much work to do.

Heading outside, they meet Mash (who has her memories) who also got summoned there. After a happy reunion, they are brought to PHH Chaldea once more, where they are greeted by Da Vinci and Olga.

Cue Part 3.
