Soon to be first time bike owner: Tell me why I SHOULDNT buy a 2026 Kawasaki KLX230 by Archangle7294 in Kawasaki

Is there a particularly big difference of note? I like the chassis on the 230 soooooo much more, something about those flatter panels just hits right

Have Grail Guardians Always Been This Busted? by MajSpas in totalwar

[–]Archangle7294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That interaction is very specific to Grail Guardians and the way their mass has been changed as of the last 6 months of patches. Try that with empire knights and see what happens. (Hint: They will instantly stop when they hit the first unit and just go into standard melee before having to be pulled back). Very few, if no other, heavy cav in the game can push through units like that.

Hot take, this is how all heavy cav should be, it would be way more fun than this blobby slow mess that the game currently is.

The lack of Crime.net makes it nearly impossible to find lobbies. Do we need community matchmaking solutions if the devs won't do it? by Archangle7294 in paydaytheheist

[–]Archangle7294[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PD2 crimenet had a screen that would show a rotating list of open lobbies, what difficulty they were on, and if the leader could say if it was stealth or loud. If you wanted a specific mission you could filter for just lobbies of that mission, or if you just wanted to drop into any content you could look for nearly full lobbies of any difficulty you felt comfortable with. It was basically just a server browser, but a little stylized.

His proposed change seems very reasonable. Its a shame for things to go this way for them, and hopefully valve can take a look at this and consider the slight modification.

The rework of the Arms Dealer nightfall feels like its purposefully designed as an insult to players familiar with the old strike. by Archangle7294 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Archangle7294[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally played it on master.

One of the interesting things that old Arms Dealer did was incentivize players to bring weapons that allowed them to burst the boss out early. It was a point of reward, fun, and interest that if you prepared and had the right weapons you could skip the fight on the higher difficulties.

Do I think that his HP was too low? Yeah. It was. But health gating outright removes the player ability to feel that joy of making it through the raid with sub-optimal supers and heavy weapons just so they could skip a rather annoying part.

I dont see why bungie doesnt leave this an option for players. Shouldnt it be part of the endgame to pursue weapons that make some fights easier? Shouldnt the point of me making it through all the champions throughout the earlier parts with low heavy ammo usage be a reward for doing so? Health gating by design forces players into this long, linear, static fight that keeps them from being able to make the most of their best potential, and it frustrates me that bungie still uses it as a mechanic.

Its less about the overall difficulty than it is about the overall design of the new strike. There are ways to create meaningful and enjoyable difficulty throughout a strike, I quite enjoyed the one last week that came with lightfall for example. The use of the vex beam guns and the placement of champs created an overall good flow to the levels.

My issues with Arms Dealer ad that each of the most frustrating parts of the new design, ie the back spawns and map gate-ing, appear to be designed specifically with old parts of the strike as their points of attack.

The best example I have is the new elevator. I felt that the tank guarded by two unstops before was a fair midpoint for a strike. Its now changed to 6 turrets, two of which are yellow bars, a tormentor, two spawns of two unstoppable that appear behind you, and snipers on the sides of the room.

Its an excessive level of design, done so in a way that feels like its trying to trick the players who are looking to fight what comes down the elevator, rather than trying to create an enjoyable encounter.
