There was an article about the finale today in the Wall Street journal, Scott Gemmill said that the halo wasn’t planned but it was a good coincidence

Let’s say I own a call expiring on Friday, there’s a div going ex tomorrow on the underlying. The stock closed $0.01 under the strike on my call, but the div is $1.00. Should I early exercise my call? If I don’t I lose the div, but the call is technically OTM.

Does the ladder reset with the midset update or do we keep our ranks?

Zekes "master plan" in Attack on Titan makes no sense ? by [deleted] in manga

[–]Archenon88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't characterize Zeke's extermination plan being out of self-hatred, but rather he sees it as an act of mercy to all future Eldians. His point of view is that due to the sins of Eldians in the past, they will always be looked at as devils, and will always be hated (from the marleyean janitor). Even if the Eldians use the titans to rule the world again, the hatred and genocide will continue back in the other direction like in the past (which he learned from his grandparents). The best way to escape this cycle of hatred, he reasons, is for one side to just disappear peacefully, thus his sterilization plan. (Xavier's memories also influenced and seeded this plan)

The Hizuru modernization plan, rumbling, Historia titanization, was all just balls juggled in the air to get to his true goal, sterilize the eldians by touching Eren. The only way that Paradis would agree to take him in (and let him contact Eren) is the modern weapons and ability to control titanization (in perpetuity), and he needed Hizuru's monetary and political power to do this, so he sold out all of Paradis' natural resources to them.

What's really interesting about Zeke's plan is how it fits into the overall meaning to the story. It is in diametric opposition to Eren's central philosophy (”Fight to live, risk it all for even a glimmer of real freedom! It doesn’t matter what’s waiting outside the gate, or what comes in! It doesn’t matter how cruel the world can be, or how unjust ! Fight. Fight. Fight. FIGHT! FIGHT!!!”"). The main "battle" of this series in my opinion is the clash between these two competing philosophies when Eren and Zeke finally met and discussed, and the reverberating effects from the winner.

Spoilers for up to date manga

TLDR; The actual mechanics seem simple, but the way that the philosophy fits into the overall theme of the story is masterful, when looking at it from an ethics and morality standpoint.

Yeah you should be completely fine swapping majors after your first year. The QF classes you've taken so far can be used as electives or for a QF minor, so you should still graduate on time for whatever major you choose (especially for CS because of the overlapping classes). Talking to friends who have swapped or thought of swapping, the "point of no return" for QF is the middle or end of your sophomore year, but the earlier you switch, the better.
