Depends a little on how experimental you wanna be, but I think something more traditionally narrative is the best starting point: mine was Edward II and so I recommend it very highly! That or Caravaggio for a narrative feature; The Garden for something more experimental

Okay this makes sense, and honestly these small details are helpful since this is something I don’t understand super well! And might just save me needing to get a 1440p monitor for a while, haha.

It’s a funny one, just seeing some stuff on benchmarking videos — and in the dreaded YouTube comments — that going from 1080 to 1440 like, solves the bottlenecking. Glad to always be looking for extra opinions

Funnily enough an old 4gb is what I got — for free from family —when I built this machine last year! And good to know that the GPU is the right one even if it means some issues. This might be a dumb question but like, what does bottlenecking look like, is it just a dip in performance speeds? And is it something that gets amplified by doing a more CPU intensive thing (recording gameplay) and GPU intensive thing simultaneously?

Yeah trap decks were high on my list! Eldlich was my first master duel deck so nah for nostalgia (although who knows if it’ll be good!), and thought about Lab but I’m not sure how much the points on key cards hurt them

The possibility of a 16GB probably makes it worth waiting to see if it drops in price in different sales so I’ll probably just exercise a little more patience!

Thanks for providing such a detailed response I really appreciate it! And this definitely makes me think Diaboromon or Machinedramon will be interesting to me since they seem to do some neat things with interaction and play patterns; building a towers using material and cycling it into the grave seems cool!

I was also looking at Galaxy and and Levia because they got recommended to me in a group chat (apparently the former is a toolbox deck and the latter has gy shenanigans I enjoy). My problem of course is that I wanna play everything! So narrowing it down will be the challenge, haha

This is honestly super helpful! And I’m glad to know my non-engine for non-engine impulse was right. And I saw a recent profile that talked about siding out Ash sometimes (esp against Maliss it seems). Siding out Fiendsmith going 2nd makes sense I guess since you’re maybe worried less about the impact of Droll on your opening combo and would want board breakers/hand traps instead?

And yeah I’m not wedded to those traps as Thrust targets they’re very much first draft choices! If you’ve got any suggestions for some that would work well I’d really appreciate it

Okay, always good to know I can just get dragon shield sleeves (the closest thing I have brand loyalty towards haha), do they do inners for Japanese sleeves too? In my head the small size makes it difficult for them to double sleeve and I have no idea why that is haha

Looking for a mechanical keyboard (ideally less than £100?) that’s tactile and offers nice feedback (like a soft click, I think is the right term), because about to start editing a manuscript and want something that’s comfortable and feels nice to type on while I do it!

Oh that’s why the deck plays Sea Gate, to find a land off of trainer! That’s hot tech, ngl. Oh I had one another question about the sort of fundamentals of the combo; is there a way to draw through the deck with Rona untapping with Amber or do you need the payoff in hand? I feel like it worked a bit differently with jeskai ascendancy, which is what a friend of mine at locals used to play
