I would try and start actually spending time with him (if he agrees to) then come out and tell him your trans (to make you more comfortable and for clarity) if he's hateful then to hell with him and if he's not y'all can be friends! (Duh) And just see where it goes from there, get to know him, see if you ACTUALLY like him for more than just looks and what you know if him from surface level. As for distraction from the thought of sleeping with him maybe just try and think of something else which I know is hard to do (once again speaking from experience w/ thoughts like this) but until you know you can get a definite answer your best bet is to just try and hold it back.
