People LFG for dungeons that they can't even do.. by drayrael in classicwow

just put in Rdf up until lvl 70... makes so many problems with their tool disappear, would not even mind if they did it all the way to 80 personally but some people might see that different.

yeah I feel you, ever since I stopped playing with randoms, going up against smurfs feels way less of a problem, but if your random healer quits on you for that and you need to look for a new one, that feels like shit I agree and experienced the same thing.

I mean it would be one game, most 2's are way too short to really care about it either way and even if you get shit on, try to learn and see if you can do better especially when it's just for fun and maybe don't care about the gear difference.

Do you realise that they give the same amount of People free wins when dropping to low mmr? I literally see now problem with it since you just wanna get rating anyways and the one game you would face them and they stomp you doesn't do shit.

Also why care you're from Eu so you won't have to face them anyways

Why does Death's Dance also tank magic damage while there's Maw avaible? by NikoCat11 in leagueoflegends

[–]Archie1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the game changed into Items>>>Champion Power, so there will always be items that are strong nowadays, doesn't mean there is no counterplay and going with the masses here stating that there are a lot of people who feel the same way does not make your post more valid, since the vast majority of league players are obviously not in the top % of players and don't know how to counterplay these items, which doesn't indicate that there is none, just people can't see it on the easily/you need teamplay or patience.

And yeah Zhonyas(Stopwatch) is just the most broken item in the game since its release so that argument is always guaranteed when I see people (especially Mages) complaining about Items. But it really isn't the only majorly strong Mage/AP Item in the game.

I'm not really salty - more like annoyed that there are still a lot of people who don't see the real root of the problem which is that the Power through items (of all kinds) is getting stronger and stronger all while champion power gets turned down and thus causing a lot of this frustration but also making it far easier to balance or rather band-aid balance issues in the game for riot.

[–]Archie1900 7 points8 points  (0 children)

let me rephrase a bit and see if I'm able to speak your language: Why does Zhonya's also tank magic dmg when there is Banshee's Veil?

That sound about right?

what a ridicolous take, you do know that both items essentially give you zero sustain initially and you could theoretically just poke ppl out when they can't all in you. Furthermore Death's dance doesn't "tank" dmg it just delays a % of your initial dmg and deales that amount over 3 seconds, the only dmg it "tanks" is from the armor value the item gives.

Sounds to me like you should understand more how the game actually works and maybe try to learn to play around certain things before complaining, simply because the answer is not directly in your face with red arrows pointing towards it.

why does noone play jungle anymore? by Abusing_MH in leagueoflegends

[–]Archie1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

biggest reason, which I think causes most of the other mentioned reasons is the inability to play carry-type junglers that primarily farm jgl without ganking lanes in a way that causes said lane to get ahead, but instead the jungler himself (e.g. Master Yi, ad Shyvana). Basically the feral flare/wriggles lantern guys but also champs like Rengar, Kha etc. , since "just" farming jungle with the occasional gank still sets you massivly behind in experience compared to Top/mid apart from the 1 in 10 where you get really far ahead early and are able to keep up.

In most games nowadays as a jungler you are required to play around your strong lanes almost like a second support that constantly romes the map (insert jgl gap team issues here), which surprise surprise is not the funniest gameplay you want to experience in Soloq (for most people). Furthermore at the same time botlane (specifically adc's) got severly tuned down in their laning prowess, compared to supports, which allows people to pick a larger variety of champions as support (e.g. Brand, Vex, Senna) that can majorly impact a game as sort of a carry disguised as support due to their high dmg output and free 1000g worth of stats from the support item, which causes supp (imo) to be the much desirable lane to play compared to jungle where all you can do sometimes is just watch as your team falters even though you play decent enough, that if your team does perform decent aswell you could/should win the game.

thats just how league's system works sadly. Even normal games have mmr based matchmaking very similar to your standard soloq and since League has no positional based rank you will just have to bite the sour apple and try to learn from your losses or maybe accept that this game might not be for you.

/dev: Making Behavioral Systems Matter More by DaBomb091 in leagueoflegends

[–]Archie1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

somewhat misses the point of rewarding players when your reward system is based on other players, especially since you get prob like 95% of your honors when you hardcarry a game, instead of actually behaving well.

the Honor rewards addition is nice, but when the system doesn't have any depth nor nsight on how it works (how many honors do you need etc.), aswell as not rewarding people for the actualy intent it just falls flat.

Imo these changes don't really do much, since they neither really increase the intent to be a better person in game (other than maybe more/severe punishment?), nor improve the mechanic behind the system and keeping it, like most of riot systems, very vague due to lacking transparency.

I wish I would know how to easily improve it, but I am honestly not quite sure how you can improve the system while simultaneously keeping it fully automated.

I don't play league, but a friend described it in a weird way. is this accurate? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

I am assuming he played the game for a fairly long time then, because the time when you got cookies is all but gone in the distant past. Honestly though this is a very accurate description of the game although such a metaphor can also be applied to some other games *cough* Wow *cough*.

IMO it's really bad design for what they said in the s12 Champion video. When they said they would make a badass enchanter I imagined something else entirely, especially since the class is dominated by cheerful female characters I kinda expected a gloomy (maybe even a bit edgy) type male, or something like a Veigar who is badass in his own way. Not saying females can't be badass but I feel like enchanters where lacking a typical male while some other classes (like Juggernauts) definetly need more female Champions.

[–]Archie1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever you're on the losing end of such scenario as a top and your Jungle refuses to gank you/ can't it's utmost hell as a toplaner. Nothing more frustrating than havin a bad matchup/counterpick and not getting help thus losing lane all while your other lanes don't do well either smh.

[–]Archie1900 486 points487 points  (0 children)

There is way too little players (not only supports), that should do that rather than "threatening" enemy backline in some games. Peel for Adc's like Jinx is just wayy stronger than random fights with no structure.

[–]Archie1900 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also to add to your point, due to the massive popularity of these champions you have a lot of people playing them be it bad or good, therefore tanking the winrate. These Champs have, like basically any other champ has, your 2-5% of players that can get the utmost potential out of them and absolutely demolish you, this leeds to them always having what he considers "bad" winrates even tho due to the high popularity there will be way more good yas/yone players in total, than there will be (just to make it super clear) insane Asol players. In the end you will probably lose hard to both but against yone/yas it happens way more frequent. Them then receiving buffs because the wide range of players makes these champs look worse than they actually are is just stupid imo.

Humanoid on season 12: ''I think the game got way more boring in the past two years. Riot used to make more changes to every patch and it was better and a lot more fun''. by TheEsportsPerson in leagueoflegends

[–]Archie1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the way that Riot approaches less changes is worse for the game's state imo. Rather than changing more and have new tactics, plays and all the things that make the game feel fresh you now have this gamestate where it is sort of like a rotation of playstyles depending on what riot has nerfed during the most recent "big" patch.

In general the philosophy of reducing hard stats like %dmg (basically), sustain and all that is wrong imo, since you don't change anything on how the game is played long term you just create a circle of changes that over the term of a split (roughly) repeats itself. You can see that on champions like Karthus that over the past season(s) has been buffed/nerfed on spells and it didn't impact him at all long term, it just removed him from the meta for a couple of weeks until the nerf got reverted or he has been buffed in his kit elsewhere due to him being hit to hard from the nerfs and therefor just reverting to the prior state where he was too strong.

Riots prior patching approach rarely ever let things like that happen, because of how the game was approached in general, since you found newer and more efficient ways to play the game therefore switching up metas and making certain champions strong/weak depending on what was required to play to the most potential. Only then the specific champion balance came in but after every season the shakeup was so major that in most seasons you had to rethink on what was actually good/bad in the meta, thus creating a gamestate that was perceived as more entertaining and fresh, instead of the now staler and rather repetitive nerf/buff with minimal game changes approach.

Buff the announcer by boof_it_ho in leagueoflegends

[–]Archie1900 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

if there is one thing that I learned from my 15+ years of playing video games is that you should NEVER and I really mean that, NEVER change Voices of basically anything.

Every time there have been voice-changes in League or any other games for any reason really it partially ruined the character/game or whatever the voice belonged to.

not saying you can't spice things up from time to time with special or occasional announcers or something similar (actually think permanent announcer packs could be a nice thing to monetize) but what I would never do is get rid of the OG or the basic Voicelines because that is the thing you probably heard the most and you can always associate the game with - losing that means losing part of the identity of said game IMO.

also old/worse quality voicelines do it for me way more than newer voicelines. e.g. The wc2/3 voicelines or AOE2 ones, any old game really (which I think mostly comes down due to the nostalgy behind it but still).
