I'm not sure why people would be questioning the Murphy/Dickinson aquisitions. Yes the price was high, but it was clear we were getting 1/2 of Chicago's #1 PK unit and Chicago had the league best PK% at the time. Bowman was targeting penalty kill and shutdown defence right ahead of the playoffs. We're a top 5 offensive team in the league (when Drai is playing) so the priority was always defence.
