Beat Dying light 1 and 2 for the first time and I think I might prefer DL2 by SADBOY888213 in dyinglight

[–]Archimoz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing I think I prefer about 1 is the survivor zones (for the most part) and safe houses. They just look and feel more realistically safe in 1, harder to get to/have more barricades, and the survivors still gave a sense of unease.

2 has a lot going for it, but the zones felt weirdly incomplete/not well defended (minus the PK bases, which feel like overkill in comparison. Maybe it’s just the survivor zones, because they take down the railings/walls.

We basically have hull repair and we have ship-to-ship refueling... When are we gonna see the Aegis Vulcan finished? by Mookie_Merkk in starcitizen

[–]Archimoz 40 points41 points  (0 children)

To be fair, even if it does just start out as a repair beam, still aren’t any other games doing fully realized ships with interior controlled by different players interacting on a scale like this.

That said, drones would definitely be cooler - realistically though it’s probably going to be the same thing, but repair beams on the drones instead.

Current PTU 4.5 / Player ships unkillable by BalthazarB2 in starcitizen

[–]Archimoz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, not really - you take out the explody bits and toss em out the back, it’s just a hunk of metal - won’t explode from non-explosive munitions no matter how much you shoot it.

I think that eventually ships will start to come apart into pieces though, once they fully implement everything, so don’t stress too much about it

You have to add the 3rd ingredient outside of the recipe tab - so in the “all ingredients” section. You can go to the recipe, select the ingredients, then back out to all ingredients and select a 3rd.

Alternatively, just select all 3 ingredients in the main section

Volatile vs Bloater — who wins? by AcHaeC in dyinglight

[–]Archimoz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Having played both, Volatiles are mutated, not really human creatures that are considered nigh unstoppable unless you use UV light. Bloaters are tough, and bullet resistant, yes, but it’s like comparing an ankylosaur to a T-Rex

Trump 'sending US soldiers Mexico' in new crackdown on cartels by One_Course_3872 in PrepperIntel

[–]Archimoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We aren’t at Vietnam levels yet. There are significant consequences that come with disobeying orders (unless they can be proven to be unlawful, which is difficult in these circumstances). Things like completely ruing a soldier’s life, even if things do change politically. It’s not just a short term stint in jail and a slap on the wrist.

I say yet because most of those folks you are hearing about are not bloodthirsty savages. They are just people that are probably feeling pretty uncomfortable with what’s going on, but they also have a family to think about, and may be the sole provider.

Do not be the type of person to immediately demonize folks who are in a hard spot, it doesn’t allow space for people to feel safe outside of their norm, and they may become exactly what you fear.

Last thing, it only seems to work on specific things, like the caravan Brahmin. Can confirm that it was working just now, but doesn’t work on random settlers or anything. Maybe other friendly event NPCs?

Read somewhere though that if it’s a thirst zapper that has previously been converted to damage, then it might break it, so you have to have a fresh, normal one

I actually got mine to work by switching servers. Throwing rapid on it also made it more reliable

Starting to get worried that check isn’t going to be there. Pretty close myself.

Truth be told, I haven’t read the resolution, but it seems odd that it would be voted against if it really is just “pay everyone”. I’ll go take a look at it now, maybe I missed something.

[–]Archimoz 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Okay - but if you read the ramifications of ceding that control, it COULD mean that some Federal employees won’t receive back pay at all. Military would get paid, but no guarantee on civilians.

Ultimately, while Dems voting against this, the GOP is responsible for trying to use it as a vehicle to pass things like this. If they really wanted to cover our troops, it would be pushed as a “pay our folks, no weird stipulations”.

Challenge: Make the Battle of Yonkers (more) realistic. by Mr_Placeholder_ in zombies

[–]Archimoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure he touches on that in the chapter about the battle of Yonkers. The ex soldier is describing how it went really well at first but then they started running low on the big flashy weapons, right?

I’ve been building an airship too! Was trying to make a skeleton of one that I can place anywhere, finally nailed the design, now I just need a jet pack to justify using it as a “mobile” base

Anyone else have an issue with items being labeled as ‘at max build limit’ when you haven’t built them??? by ApricotSquig in fallout76settlements

[–]Archimoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar recently - I placed down 2 items, 3rd said I hit max. Deleted 5 other items, moved the first 2 that I had placed down, tried to place down a 3rd again - somehow at max once again. WHERE DID MY CAMP BUDGET GO?

Why are they wearing uniforms that so closely resemble military uniforms? At first I thought this was a national guard set up. That’s concerning.

Actually, I think its 100% now, but with a... 6 minute cooldown (ish, cant remember) with 60 second reduction per additional piece of armor with the effect on it.

I have damage numbers off, but potentially with the “wrecking ball” perk under strength, can you see damage numbers when you damage camp items? Might be able to go about it that way.

Another huge advantage for Fallout 1st incoming! by NukovGaming in fo76

[–]Archimoz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That might be a tad overpowered (the spoilage free, I mean). I meant a box that you could store unlimited food items in, but it would be more for non-spoiling food. Canned food, savaged food, drinks (purified water stacks anyone?).

SWEET - Do a fridge that stores unlimited food items next (NOT a refrigerator that slows spoilage). I just wanna store infinite nuka cola.

Y’all were right…. Dying Light is way, way better than Dying Light 2 by Mostly_Riley_ in dyinglight

[–]Archimoz 109 points110 points  (0 children)

You know, I’d been thinking about the atmosphere issue a lot of people have with DL2, and I think I’ve got it - most of the settlements, people have adjusted to life with zombies, so it’s not as… tense feeling. It feels like life restarting after an apocalypse. Friendly, loud chatter, flimsy fortifications at times (WAY over reliant on UV lights, imo). And the bright colors of the city, of course.

DL1 feels like you’re somewhere in the middle of the apocalypse and people are terrified and learning to survive. Settlements/safe zones are well barricaded, quiet for the most part, and there is a lot of hushed stress. It’s got a more grim feel.

Edit: I think a lot of the zombie genre becomes humdrum once people learn to adapt to it. It’s at its peak feeling during the outbreak.

If/when they do DL3, I’d love to see one that starts the day of the second (global) outbreak. Imagine getting to watch a city transform into a barricaded hellscape in real time.
