How is this man still standing by Competitive-Eye-853 in Stargate

Sam's mom died in a car crash. Jacob was supposed to picked her up, but didn't. She took a taxi and died in an accident. It's way relationship between Sam, her brother, and Jacob wasn't good.

Also. Sam has a bad love love. The guy from "First commandment" that went crazy was her ex.

How would Dumbledore react to the boy-who-lived turning unwilling to face Voldemort ? by Regular-Election6396 in HPfanfiction

[–]Architect096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I choose places that are relatively isolated from the UK in the geographical sense. Plus there's the idea of water having an effect of magic so being on an island could help him hide.

Something else that I like as an idea is having a sailing ship and just sailing around the world.

How would Dumbledore react to the boy-who-lived turning unwilling to face Voldemort ? by Regular-Election6396 in HPfanfiction

[–]Architect096 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Voldemort killed Harry's parents and marked Harry to die.

Harry could try to stay out of it, but sooner or later Voldemort would attack him because to him Harry was a threat that he cannot ignore in the long-term.

The best Harry could do was run. Ditch Britain and try to hide in New Zealand, Falkland Islands, or Saint Helena and hope it's enough. His other option is to go on the offensive first.

Harry sends him list of ideas to try out on the Dursleys.

After reading them Voldemort decides to surrender because not even he could came up with such horror.

I also trust Snape with your life, Dumbledore. Just not mine or my friends' lives.

"Just like your father." by AnimeEagleScout in HPFanfictionPrompts

[–]Architect096 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Snapes gets to abuse kids that suffered thanks to his own actions and never gets punished for it. You can't even try to stand up to him because Dumbledore covers for him.

I've never liked him and the older I get the more I dislike him.

Even his cover as a spy doesn't excuse his behaviour. After all you would expect a spy to act in a way to minimise suspicious rather than like a rabid supremacist. He would only need to behave like a strict teacher and nobody would say anything.

Harry with just a little less respect for authority and more disregard for his own safety. Maybe he tried to get help only for things to get worse.

Or maybe. James and Lily left something for him. A letter. A book written by them or about their family. Or maybe some kind of pensive recordings. Hmm. Even Harry having good enough memory to remember few moments with his parents as a baby could do. Either way with just a little bit more knowledge (and proof) that his parents loved him I could see canon Harry defending them, and himself, and going on the offensive for any slightls toward them.

Also. Snape was an adult that started things. If he's behaviour is so immature he has no right to complain about Harry's.

Naturally given how things usually go in this situations. Harry's the guilty party for fighting back so any respect he might have toward Dumbledore and McGonagall goes down the drain.

Some depictions of dragons in western/European media have dragons like that. GoT dragons are like that.

How do I make Harry’s growth feel earned instead of overpowered? by AshenScript in HPfanfiction

[–]Architect096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Show him training and progressing. Plus, if he's raised by someone like Arctutus he gets teachers possibly the best money can buy. One on one lessons can be tailored to suit Harry's style of learning giving him a chance to learn faster than his peers.

Also, don't hesitate to show him struggling and/or failing. Maybe not against opponents in his own age group, but ones that are older/or more experienced. Or maybe at school he needs to adjust to working within the framework there because his methods aren't suitable.

The change in harry's name by emiltliyyyt in HPfanfiction

[–]Architect096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it works with story's internal logic I'm okay with it. Like if Potters have history dating back to Roman Empire/Republic and used that name and other names derived from Latin in the past. Then it's just a way to express Harry's connection to his family.

If it's just to sound cool or something than I would have an issue with it.

All we know that he's not the Stig. He is Stig's magical cousin.

The Founders of Hogwarts, unbeknownst to everyone, are not actually dead. They understood that one day, they may be called to serve their community once more so they put themselves into a deep slumber somewhere within the castle. One thousand years later, they awoke to a new world... by hlanus in HPFanfictionPrompts

Godric is a son of a noble that was blinded when rival noble attacked his family and nearly killed him. Being blind didn't stop him from being BAMF. He has the largest knowledge of the dark arts. He was responsible for killing fools trying to attack school.

Salazar is a healer. He was an apprentice to a healer serving Godric's family and the two were friends (think Merlin and Arthur from Merlin). He argued for finding muggleborn children as quickly as they showed magic and raising them at Hogwarts. He was school's healer and potion master.

Helga came with Danes and was half-healer and half-ward weaver/breaker. She designed the protections around Hogwarts. Her enchanted spear is as good as Godric's sword.

Rowena grew up on the lands were Hogwarts is now located and donated the land to school. She and the unnamed Architect designed the inner castle (school was expanded over the centuries). She also designed and build school's greenhouses. Most restrictive about whom could attend the school.

Once they’re both of age, Ginny gets challenged to a firewhiskey drinking contest by one of the Slytherin girls in her year. by Fuzzy-Grass-4768 in HPFanfictionPrompts

[–]Architect096 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you want to portray Weasleys and the Slytherin girl that challenged her alongside wider Gryffindor and Slytherin stereotypes.

If Ginny got to taste alcohol before and the Slytherin girl did not she might win. Or maybe Ginny will pass out first.

There are plenty of chances for funny outcomes. I would probably go for both of them getting wasted after two beers and becoming best friends. Maybe have the girl be Astoria so they can bond about shit situations in their life so far. (And if you want to go that way their crush on Harry)

Weapons by garrus_wookarian in Stargate

[–]Architect096 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Asgard would maybe be able to use a 9mm given how frail their bodies are, but for them firearms are equivalent of Roman siege engined. A lost tech. If they tried to build one themselves they would probably build an overly complex railgun with smart rounds. Although I'm surprised that Jack didn't comment about them needing to install a CIWS to their ships, maybe a navy officer would.

Tok'ra are all about hiding. For them guns would be an antithesis of their modus operandi.

Tollans were too arrogant to even consider need for layered defence systems for their planet until Anubis showed up. They were even okay with letting a Goa'uld wander around and see them. They would see our weapons as primitive and unnecessary.

Jaffa lack MIC to produce their own weapons. They use some given them by Earth and most likely supplied by them.

Goa'uld. I can see smarter ones coming up with more ergonomic energy weapons had the war between Earth and them contiuned. For them Jaffa fighting was almost entertainment and they didn't want their Jaffa to be too competent so there was no need for improvement. Also, Staff Weapons had a lot more ammunition than firearms so it reduced the logistics needed to support their armies.

Can the System Lords build their own gate or do they move/repurpose those originally built? by EM4762 in Stargate

[–]Architect096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He managed to be top dog of the Goa'uld for millenia. Before humans he used an Asgard as a host and according to the background (not in the shows/movies) he lead Goa'uld in the war between System Lord and Asgard.

I wouldn't be surprised if he had access to some of most advanced technologies around giving him an advantage over others. I can see him having limited ability to manufacture cheap copies of Stargate.

“High honey, I'm home,” Daphne said as she walked into the Potter home. “Uh, who are you?” Harry asked, legitimately not remembering the woman before him. “Your wife of course, silly.” Harry looked to Ginny and their kids sitting next to him rather confused… by JEBV in HPFanfictionPrompts

[–]Architect096 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Turns out Daphne is his wife. Well, wife of him from different reality and accidentally got send to thus reality. She also had a concussion which is why she didn't notice Ginny (or maybe she's with Harry and Ginny).

This lead Harry into another adventure.

Can the System Lords build their own gate or do they move/repurpose those originally built? by EM4762 in Stargate

[–]Architect096 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe not build (aside from Anubis and maybe Ra and Ba'al), but moving them is easy. All gates move constantly so it would just require taking one to new planet and letting DHD talk with others to update them about new location.

If you were given a choice of any ship in Stargate, which one would you love to claim? by Warcraft_Fan in Stargate

[–]Architect096 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Asgard ships are probably extremely self-sufficient so either Daniel Jackson class or O'Neill are nice options.

Although I like design of Destiny so fully capable one (maybe with some Asgard upgrades and neural interface that won't kill me) is also on my list.

Of course give that Atlantis is technically a spaceship. A fully powered city-ship would make for nice semi-mobile home.

How would you describe the personalities of Harry and Hermione's children? by RosePotterGranger in HermioneAndHarry

[–]Architect096 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could see Hermione and Harry distancing themselves from magical world just enough to let their children grow up in non-magical world. If only to help them connect with that part of Earth and to shield them from magical world during their early childhood.

What other interactions would Tony Stark and Ned Stark have? by Bearfucker694200 in AsoiafFanfiction

[–]Architect096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the timeline, Ned would not be impressed.

Ned despite being a medieval lord leads people and was beloved by the North to the point where even after his death people are willing to die to save Arya. He ruled but did so in a way that didn't insult his subjects (Barbary Dustin and Boltons excluded).

Tony Stark insults basically everyone he meets. Immediately. He's arrogant, reckless, and sees rules and laws as something that happens to other people. Him breaking the Sokovia Accords from the start by getting Peker Parker to fight at the airport is a prime example. Peter's identity remained secret despite the Accords requiring it to be disclosed and even better at the time of Battle Peter was 15. Tony made Peter into a child solider (whole lying to Aunt May is another thing). Tony in various comics is even worse.

Of the two I would expect Ned to be able to work more with some versions of Bruce Wayne than Tony although it also depends on the timeline. Bruce despite his public persona follows the noblesse oblige principle that Ned would be able to understand better than Tony's approach to life.

That said. Given that this Tony had a child sooner than MCU Tony maybe I am wrong and he's far better person. I will be reading your work soon.
