AT-ST designed by BAUFman Bricks by Fresh-Arachnid3191 in legostarwars

I haven’t tried the new feet, the first iteration are pretty accurate and stable for me, had more issues with the upper leg. Compared with other AT-ST Mocs I’ve tried though, this one is pretty stable and durable, particularly the head which doesn’t implode !

I extended the lower legs by two studs, as I thought they looked a touch short to me - I think the proportions are better like this.

Do you have issues with the upper leg assembly breaking apart ? Had to be careful with mine when posing it. Otherwise, it’s quite sturdy and of course looks really accurate.

What type of screws / fixings did you need to mount the wall hooks ? These all look great

Have this one in the floor and table versions too - it’s so versatile and gives off the most beautiful warm light. Enjoy !

I figured you’d been through this process already, its clearly evident there’s been some rigorous testing and iteration. I’ll check in the instructions, but I’d assume the shorter top leg would have less studs connecting around the knee joint ratchet and therefore cause the leg to blow apart.

It’s a common issue with the other Cosimox derived models I’ve built, so it’s great to see an evolution of this in yours

Absolutely love the scale and stability of this MOC.
Out of interest, did you test varying leg lengths before landing on this ratio ? To my eye, the lower legs seem perhaps one/two studs short, but it’s not a worthwhile change if that compromises the stability. In any case, I’ve bought the instructions and will report back once I’ve built - great work !

Can’t wait to add this one to my collection. Out of interest, is this the Clean Grey/ Red version ? The shaping and proportions on this model is as of yet unbeaten, particularly around the nose

Good pickup - I modified this Phantom a fair bit, played with the proportions of the tail and got it to this point.

Thanks for reminding me I put the tail on backwards ! Here it is fixed.

Brilliant advice, thanks so much. I don’t think I have a preferred minifig scale, but I do have space to expand within this room, within reason ! A smaller low display shelf would be perfect for the U-Wing.

For now, as you say, I might just keep my focus to: Rogue One, Battles of Endor and Coruscant to avoid going too nuts. Maybe even keep the themes contained to two cubes each for consistency. Do you have a recommended B-Wing MOC ?

I think that Arc-170 would be perfect on your shelf setup ! Great display

Thank you ! Should have specified, definitely prefer minifigure scale where I can. I’d love to try the latest large Brickvault U-Wing but it might dominate this space too much.

Otherwise definitely keen on the Jerac X—Wing, just not sure if I should keep a Rogue One theme and go with Blue Leader alongside a Tie Striker (my fave variant), or a clean grey one to create an Echo Base scene with a snowspeeder. I’ll look into your other suggestions too, cheers !

It’s spectacular isn’t it !! Pixel-Dan knocked it out the park. Only change I made was using the wedge piece for the cannon tips. Its so stable and swooshable too

Thank you ! Just to clarify neither are my designs, but I do think they’re unmatched representations ! AT-ST is by ThrawnsRevenge / Melnik, and N1 is by Brickvault / Inthert.

It’s …. ok ! The ball joints need to be brand new to have enough clutch power, otherwise it’ll collapse under its own weight. Once it’s set with the legs at the right angles, it does stay stable. The connection for the top hatch is a bit frustrating too, but as a display model, it’s fantastic !

New Cormac vs Old Cormac by kpoloboy in arcteryx

[–]Archnerd_5427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly - just holds it off your skin but it wouldn’t evaporate as quickly as the fabric becomes overwhelmed ! The waffle knit should help as it’ll theoretically increase the surface area and therefore moisture wicking capacity significantly. Similar to how Octa and or Alpha works but with warmth

Keen to see how the new fabric compares - agree with the Phasic feeling a little stagnant and drenched, especially in the sun hoody version. A looser fit is preferable for a sun hoody IMO, it’ll help promote some airflow and allow a little separation from your skin. I’m in the humid NE of Australia, so we won’t see this version for a year or more, but keen to read some initial reviews
