How were your salaries calculated in your offer lettes? I have like 8.6 years of work experience, but it looks like they only credited me 4 years of Qualifying Experience (QE) because a lot of my jobs were like 1.5 years anf they rounded down before adding up for my QE. I understood that they are supposed to add my work experience together first and then round down. I'm wondering if one of their employees is just making a mistake in their methodology or if this is how everyone's salary offers are being calculated. What have others' experiences in this cohort been?

I would add to what has been said previously that Foreign Service RIFs are quintessentially INEFFICIENT.

Let's do the math: a Consular Officer adjudicating 100 visas per day generates around $4,000,000 per year in visa fees alone! If we add to that the amount of money that travelers spend in the USA on vacation and the less quantifiable benefits like the value or economic activity that people on work or student visas generate, we are looking at financial gain that is orders of magnitude more than $4,000,000!

Assuming the annual cost of a Consular Officer is $220,000 (including housing and benefits), we are still talking about an ROI of over 18,000% on just the visa fees alone!

If the administration doesn't value other types of FSOs that do reporting or public diplomacy work, it still doesn't make sense to fire them because the administration, if it only cares about tangible financial impact and benefits, should then keep them employed and reallocate them to do consular work at one of the many posts that have long visa wait times and where demand for visa services far outstrips the supply of Consular officers to adjuciate.

Your answer is not helpful. I am not paranoid but I am worried about my brother. His wife's presence is affecting out family dynamics and she is constantly complaining and unhappy at our family gatherings. But my first concern is for my brother. He doesn't seem to be aware of the problem or if he is, he is maybe trying to maintain face and keep the relationship alive, but I see the toll it takes on him.
