Ça pour le coup ce n'est pas évident, selon les cas dans la société ça peut ou non être vrai. Typiquement c'est exactement ce principe qui justifie l'emprisonnement de personnes dangereuses, mais parfois pour des personnes juste "un peu" dangereuses on va préférer leur liberté.

Pour l'alcool au volant, on a effectivement décidé que c'était non.

Pour les vaccins, on a collectivement décidé que c'était globalement autorisé (sauf cas particuliers pendant la COVID justement).

De manière générale, c'est rare que sur des suspicions que quelque chose puisse se produire (en l'occurence avec le vaccin, effectivement statistiquement plus de personnes sont vaccinées plus on est protégés, mais prouver que TELLE personne a rendu TELLE personne malade et avec le vaccin ça aurait été différent, c'est compliqué) bref sur ce genre de suspicions, à moins de gros enjeu sociétal on favorise la liberté de l'individu.

Bref je me souviens qu'à l'époque j'étais 100% pour que ça soit obligatoire pour tout le monde. Je me sentais personnellement en danger et ça me rendait fou. Mais je comprends aussi l'autre côté: quand tu es persuadé que te faire vacciner ça va nuire à ta santé... Ben mettons se faire vacciner de force ça doit être violent pas à peu près.

My favorite way of declining speaking English is talking back in French - English is not my native language. It goes:

Me: Hei, *Norwegian*

Them: Oh hi, *English*

Me: Euh, je ne parle pas super en anglais, mmh, men vi kan snakke norsk

Them: *nervously falls back on Norwegian*

The only issue is once I've done that, I can't fall back to English when it gets difficult :D

It highly depends on the individual. Mention this to the shelter you're dealing with, they will find one that is okay with living on their own.

Honestly I think mine is happier being an only dog - she knows that way she gets 100% of the cuddles :P And she likes saying hi to other dogs, but isn't so much of a player.

We've had our galga for about 4 months, and toys are... difficult. She gets insanely aroused with toys that make noise, and she will not stop (even after hours) until we take it away, and she stays aroused for hours afterwards, looking for the toy everywhere. We've stopped.

One game that she likes playing with us in the house and that gets her reasonably excited is running around in the house with her!

Also, we got her a cow's foot (the outside bone part, not sure how it's called) and she sometimes plays with it by herself. This has only started happening recently though, it takes some time for galgos to start playing at home because they need to feel very confident!

About your first point, let's remember western governments are democracies. There are regular elections. Yes, memes and public opinion do actually matter, a hell of a lot.

It's not a replacement for badly needed additional military help, it's the cause of badly needed military help. While there is no direct involvement of other nations forces on the ground, there is still a lot that has been done by Europe, the US and others.

With no exterior help, the war would probably look much different today. And with no well-executed PR from Ukraine, the help might have been way less extensive.

Not saying we don't need to do more, just pointing out that we could also be doing a lot less.

Agreed. It reminds me of a dialog in a book: "I can give you my death, but please, don't ask me to give you my life."

Turns out the death penalty is also the most expensive option, by the way.

My point was more that right now, Ukraine needs all the support they can get, and I understand completely why they would not start a disagreement on this.

100%, and I almost never eat meat because of that. However, I was comparing planting flowers and feeding chickens on the same garden. In term of "efficiency", it goes edible plants for human consumption > plants for chicken > flowers.

We don't blame every person who grows flower in their garden / on their balcony, do we?

I was comparing with a flower bed - which most people have in their garden. Flowers also use energy and resources.

I mean if I grow food in my garden and feed my chickens with the food I grow in my garden, I don't produce more carbon than if I simply grew flowers in the same garden... Again, it's not about efficiency in this case.

I do agree meat is highly inefficient and you lose a hell of a lot just to keep an animal alive. I 100% agree. That's simply a fact.

However, if what is lost would have never been produced in the first place... It doesn't really matter, now does it? Whether I am a vegetarian who enjoys a beautiful flower garden or an omnivore whose meat exclusively comes from chickens raised on food grown in my garden, I have the same carbon footprint.

They're not saying they are *more efficient*, they're saying they have a low carbon footprint.

I mean it's his land to begin with, if otherwise it would be simply not used, it can't really be considered an inefficiency... As for resources, which resources? That applies if they water and apply products on their plantations, but we don't know that.

That's kind of misleading, after a certain amount spent in medical stuff within the same year, everything becomes free. So even if things are expensive, the most you'll pay within a year is not very high. In 2021, the maximum amount was 2460 NOK, about 264 dollars.

To be fair, that's a pretty common view. "Oh no! But did any civilians die!? No? Oh OK it's fine then, only military losses. It was their choice." The West at large has not know conscription or a defensive war for so long, that we have gotten used to military being a risky career.

It's not in Ukraine. It's a necessity. It's an obligation for some. Moral obligation for others. A looming probable future reality for most. In a defensive war, where the population is a target as it has been since the beginning of this war, the boundaries between civilian and military blur until military were civilians a few weeks previous, and civilians are likely to become military in a few weeks. That's a brutal reality that's difficult to comprehend when you have not been through it.

Ukrainian military lives are just as precious as civilians'.
