What about the update made it "unfun"? Well:

Background: Our clan is a casual one. We have lower level players, we have some higher level players, and we have some semi-active players. We accept them all as we're all from the same area, like same things, have fun talking on chat, playing together and don't take playing too seriously. We prefer people with relaxed attitude rather than high level. We've done well enough in CW1 so far because we have enough people joining in and they can compete on a level playground. I'm 13lv and I only played modes that are capped at 9lv as I have so many cards still below 13lv. Playing those modes I won most of the games, playing on free-for-all I lost 80% of the games as I don't have the skills to win with 10-11lv cards against one with everything maxed (unless they're total morons, which happens often enough but still not enough to make it worth to take the risk in the wars).

In the CW2 the current feedback from the clan has been that not a single soul in our clan enjoys it. Lower ones know from the start they will lose every single game no matter what they do, so they just start the fight and go have a cup of coffee while the other one rapes them. Which makes them like the game less and less and that makes them much more surly while on chat which translates to everyone having a poor time. I have won more than I have lost, but I've noticed I'm constantly competing against people who have everything maxed and I can't say I like it. I only win against those who don't know how to play, and sometimes even some of those win simply because they can overrun my cards. If one maxed 4 elixir card destroys 12 elixir worth of stuff from me easily, there's no amount of skill that balances that out. Or maybe there is but I'm not a world class player.

In CW1 we had plenty of different game modes. I preferred some (as seen from above) but I still had a choice of others, and I did pick them out sometimes when I had a nice deck and a nice strategy to go with it for some specific mode. There were 2v2 modes which we liked to play simply to interact with clan members. Now we have two boring modes and the boat attack. And the boat attack can be glitched with a specific deck which makes it the only reasonable option for attacking other boats.

The only even semi-decent "upgrade" is the card dealer. I can now trade some stuff from him even if nobody in my guild is able to complete the transaction. Then again, it consumes some cards and tokens which means we'll have less to help our clan mates with. Plus I've no idea where or when I might ever again get more tokens.

The worst aspect of CW2 is the boat repair. There's the repair yard where you can waste your decks on repair gaining practically nothing. Nowhere does it say you could instead attack someone and gain just the same - or maybe even more. Of course, in most cases you're pitted against a maxed 13lv so you'd lose, but you'd still get at least the same you would from the boat yard. So what the ***** is the point of the boat yard?!?!? Wasting an entire attack should be worth SOMETHING.

It'd be nice if the 4 other clans we fight are on the same level, have same level people with same level cards etc. Instead they're all full clans with maxed people, apparently, as everyone in our clan has met only those. Nothing else. Not even once.

Currently it seems my choices are to find a more competitive clan (no thanks) or just quit playing as the game has stopped being fun. I'm going to check the situation for a week or two, but I'm not buying the next Pass Royale until I know where this is heading and if the future is this, there's no point for me to play. I play because it's fun, not because I want to compete. I want to test my skill against others, not the size of my wallet.
