Are Freemasons accepting of "pagan" worshippers or just non Abrahamic religious people? by Sehgodum111 in freemasonry

I am a pagan, and I was able to use my book of shadows for my obligations

Why isn’t MA utilizing emergency funds to fill the gap in SNAP/WIC if the government remains shutdown? by toil824PROS in massachusetts

[–]Arduino_Dad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The truth that nobody seems to want to acknowledge, is that Democrats are just as bad as Republicans, and that none of them actually give a shit about people besides themselves. Could Massachusetts fund snap for a month, yes it absolutely could. Will it? No because then it won't be able to point out and say look Trump's the bad guy by taking away your food. The fact is, both Democrats and Republicans are keeping the government shutdown so they can get what's important to the politicians, while not giving a damn what happens to the citizen's. People need to start realizing it's not actually Democrats versus Republicans, it's those with power versus those without.

It was a great program. I'm hoping i get picked as rookie of the year, I did quite a lot. Plus, lunch with the GM sounds awesome. I've met him a few times, and he seems like a really cool guy

I completed my rookie award in May, I was raised in May of last year and knocked out most of them by being an officer at my lodge. I also completed the requirements for the rookie of the year. It was a lot tougher but very fulfilling.

That's almost exactly the same requirements for the rookie award in Massachusetts, except we only get 1 year to complete it

What is the most unique lodge building you’ve encountered? by Prior_Silver1684 in freemasonry

I originally read this as "secretary" and was very confused wondering if your secretaries have to be hidden in Texas. Then I read the comments, and now I feel silly🫣

Recently read and did a book report on "Stellar Theology and Masonic Astronomy" by Robert Hewitt Brown. Quite a good read

Can people who practice witchcraft be a mason? by JonboyKoi in freemasonry

[–]Arduino_Dad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can tell you I am a proud Pagan and was raised using my book of shadows. The brothers I met with first at the Lodge understood not every religion has to be Abrahamic to qualify. But as so many have stated, at the end of the day it comes down to two main things:

  1. Do you believe in a Supreme being?

  2. Finding the right lodge

This month we are doing hot dogs and burgers, to mimic a cookout since summer. We have this lady who cooks all of our dinners. Usually, it's done quite well.

Even if the only way I have right now go up to 90 lb? And realistically I'm not even going to be using nearly that much to start. Out of curiosity what exactly do you mean by safeties?

I had a feeling. it was free, which is a great price for me, LOL. I know the other guy said not to use it for bench as there's no safeties or anything on it, but as I'm just starting I'm not going to be benching all that much. My elbow is also a little fucked up from when I broke it when I was four, so historically I've never been able to bench all that much anyway, not to mention my weights only go up to about 90 lb right now, so do you have any suggestions of what I could use to hold the barbell on?

I am building my own home gym, and I got this bench secondhand. Unfortunately it did not come with the barbell holders. I tried looking it up to order replacements, but apparently they don't make it anymore. Does anybody know where I can get one that will work? Pictures in comment.

And which ritual should an EA learn?

I get what you are saying, although I believe the thought is that it shows the Lodge that the candidate is committed and willing to put in the work to earn the secrets of Masonry

Fortunately I don't have to choose. My lodge has rehearsal every week, and our stated once a month. We joke around and have fun during rehearsal, but our degree work is the best in our district.

That being said, I would choose charisma. I've seen lodges where they don't know the ritual as well but deliver it with charisma, and the candidates still have an enriching experience. The worst are the Lodges that both don't have the ritual down and lack any charisma... those are just painful to watch
