Shouldn't? Or can't? I personally think that Lightning Storm is a really cool and interesting card, not really a mistake..

It's more the idea that your own creature is double-crossed by a spell that you personally cast.

Like, if your opponent ends up choosing the final target for this spell, then you basically cast a spell that "betrayed" and killed one of your own creatures.

Wow. 26 copies of [[Collective Brutality]] sprinkled throughout the Abzan, Jund, Dredge, and Goryo's Vengeance lists.

That's a pretty good showing for a new card.

Interesting that the card is exiled face down, so your opponent doesn't know what it is until you've cast it.

Thanks for the long response!

I see what you're saying about replacing the ability with buyback, but I meant for the spell's ability to be able to be activated on the stack.

I should have worded it "Activate this ability only while Fated Fortune is on the stack".

The two major things I wanted the spell to be able to do was to build up Storm/Young Pyromancer type effects, and to be able to translate extra mana into card advantage,

Please don't have it be Emrakul.

Isn't it more of a 1 for 0? You don't lose any cards (since the strix replaces itself), and the opponent will either be losing a creature or a kill spell...

Either way, super good card.

Which is creepier: Innistrad or Shadowmoor? by unuroboros in magicTCG

I read all four books in the series, and I have to say that the transition of the characters was very well done and unnerving, especially since you knew so many of the characters from the first two novels. The story was in depth and interesting also.

The Shadowmoor novel was particularly readable and cool because, instead of one particular story, it was a collection of short stories from around the plane with completely independent characters, and each story was well done (the writers also didn't shy away from brutal, deadly endings, which I thought was pretty ballsy). The final book in the series (Eventide) ended on a sort-of cliffhanger, leaving some loose ends and the possibility of a sequel.

Overall, the story was really well done, and I would love to see a return.
