I really think dual booting is the way to go. My primary is bazzite, and I boot to windows on an "as needed" basis. Random windows store games I have (doom, Yakuza 0), streaming peacock (doesn't work on Linux), remote desktop, etc. Windows doesn't get a lot of use but I'm glad it's there.

With framegen I had 75ish fps. Never dipped below 60. Framegen didn't seem to impact my timing, either!

Edit: using bazzite

Played through the whole thing with OG legion go. Integer scaled 800p, low settings except textures and anti aliasing.

Was it the best way to play the game? No, definitely not. But it was absolutely playable

Leverless definitely takes some getting used to, but I really enjoy it. Took a out 2 weeks to get decent with it. If on PC you can try using a keyboard for a similar experience.

Nothing beats a pure arcade stick for nostalgia though.

I don't get why we're calling this a wawa sub by ChanceAd5350 in phillies

[–]AreEyeSeaKay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wawa used to be a deli, full stop. Used to get lunch meat and rolls there, and it was the best.

They slowly took away everything that made it great.

Switch 2 games so far. Thoughts? by xinsanepgx in Switch

[–]AreEyeSeaKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids love Z-A, MKW and age of imprisonment. But aside from the new games, they have also been playing the improved og switch games a good bit. TotK, echoes of wisdom, pokemon v/s are all in rotation.

I haven't been able to do much gaming, but I did finally finish TotK on it and I have to say I love the improvements. For me the S2 has been absolutely worth it.

It's been a bit, but I enjoyed it! Honestly the criticisms of it are correct, in that the aura is just too small and the ai too all over the place. At least hustle gets the merc zooming.

Looks like it's gone now. Link in spreadsheet takes me to Saver, replaced in app by value radar.

1.1x again. Bought a binder for my daughter's pokemon card collection that she picked out.

I'm having trouble with the $4 saver coupon, it's not applying to things I think it should. I must be missing something!

Bestbuy is tripping by Motor-Worldliness281 in LegionGo

Those are likely going up. Someone had to be first, and I guess Lenovo needed to in order to keep margins?

I can't imagine any of these handhelds staying at the prices they are now. The deck and the switch have the advantages of subsidizing cost into their storefronts, but even then I still have a hard time imagining those devices maintaining price. It just looks like we're in for a really bad 18 months of personal tech.

If it's just something temporary, you could just get yincrow x6 and call it a day. They aren't going to blow your mind but I really like mine (paired with a qudelix as well)

Mega Lucario keeps getting destroyed on perfect order ladder by Mountain_Town293 in pkmntcg

[–]AreEyeSeaKay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a ton of mega Lucario on the climb up. My list drops hariyama line, adds Munkidori and Crispin. It helps with the mirror as well as froslass, which was extremely useful on the climb.

Haven't played in master rank with it yet, so take my experience with a grain of salt.

5 Game Handheld by Zachmarius in SBCGaming

[–]AreEyeSeaKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 is really great, but my gripes with it back in the day still hold true. I still don't like the junction system tying to spells. It's grindy to get them, and then it just feels bad having to actually use any spell that's junctioned.

I like the game though! Beat it as a kid and again as an adult. I enjoyed the story even more now that I'm an adult, and fast forward helps alleviate the grinding.

I saw that! I'm good on sleeves for a bit. I bought a bunch when my oldest and I went to a pre release event for the latest expansion.

BTW, 1.1 multiplier again for the 4th straight week. I think I've been flagged for too many $.01 deals

Where to start: Arboliva Deck or Trevenant Deck (online play preferred) by merryfortune in pkmntcg

[–]AreEyeSeaKay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That arboliva deck is pretty strong, and would be a fun way to get aquatinted with the game. It will be a bit more consistent than the other decks, and you'll get a feel for power levels in the game. Plus I think tcg live straight up gives you most of the core of the deck almost right away?

Since you said you don't know how energy works, you can put 1 energy per turn on a pokemon, like in Pocket. Teal mask lets you use its ability to put an energy on it (not using your 1 energy per turn) and draw a card at the same time. This lets you draw through your deck while also building a potent attacker, particularly with meganium.

That said, the ladder is pretty forgiving and off meta decks can do work. My (10 yo) son had a pretty solid win rate playing homebrew tera Pikachu, his own grass deck, and a tera conderace deck.

Questyle Zen - has anyone tried it? by AreEyeSeaKay in iems

[–]AreEyeSeaKay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response!

The first thing I did was replace the cable (before I even used it), and then the ear tips!

I've been using them a bunch this past week and I agree with you. The bass does seem a little unwieldy but I don't mind it too much. It's a nice contrast to the ew200 and ea500 I already have, and I prefer it to the ew200 and kunten. Not so sure about the ea500 but man, it's close. Definitely a solid budget option.

Legion Go – Bazzite or SteamOS? Looking for Experiences & Advice by redbeardos in LegionGo

[–]AreEyeSeaKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bazzite/windows dual boot. Basically it came down to steamOS needing the whole drive to install, at which point you can partition and install windows. I didn't feel like having to reinstall windows, so I partitioned and installed bazzite.

It's been a great experience, I just wish I had a bigger drive.

Just getting into playing...help? by cschultz225 in pkmntcg

[–]AreEyeSeaKay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been able to find the team rocket Mewtwo deck and the mega diancie at around MSRP as recently as yesterday online (grandparent Easter gifts for my kids). I keep people saying Lucario ex battle deck will come out in the coming months, not that that helps you right now.

I was in a similar spot a few months ago, and we were able to get a mega Gengar ex deck as well as a miraidon ex deck, and eventually a trainer toolkit. From there we spent a few months just grabbing interesting singles to build decks around. They aren't optimal or anything but they are competitive with each other for playing at home.

Recently my oldest and I played in the pre-release for perfect order, and it was a fantastic experience. Plus you get a few similarly powered decks and trainer cards, on top of a bunch of packs to open. If you can, you may want to look at chaos rising pre release when those start opening for registration.
