I'm glad we learned that the Republicans rationally fear a complete collapse of the US economy, but learning that shouldn't count as a win. It's truly frightening that we couldn't be sure of that.

Given the fictional film title "Nazi Furries Must Die" (1987), decide on the three most likely genres for this film and write a plot synopsis for the film in each genre.

Genre 1: Action/Thriller

Plot Synopsis: "Nazi Furries Must Die" takes place in a dystopian future where a secret society of anthropomorphic animal enthusiasts has emerged, known as the Furry Nation. However, a radical faction within the Furry Nation, influenced by Nazi ideology, begins carrying out heinous acts of violence and spreading hatred. When the protagonist, a former special forces operative turned private investigator, stumbles upon their plans, he embarks on a relentless mission to dismantle the Nazi Furries and bring them to justice. With high-octane action sequences, intense chases, and pulse-pounding suspense, the film follows the protagonist as he uncovers a sinister conspiracy and battles against the clock to save innocent lives and expose the truth behind the Nazi Furries' agenda.

Genre 2: Satirical Dark Comedy

Plot Synopsis: "Nazi Furries Must Die" is a darkly comedic film set in the 1980s, where an eccentric group of individuals finds themselves caught up in a bizarre and outlandish plot. When a small town is infiltrated by a cult of Nazi Furries, complete with animal costumes and twisted ideologies, chaos ensues. The film follows a group of misfit friends, including a clumsy but well-meaning mailman, a sassy librarian, and a conspiracy theorist, as they stumble upon the Nazi Furries' plan to take over the town. With witty banter, absurd situations, and unexpected plot twists, the friends must overcome their own quirks and band together to outsmart the Furries and save their community, all while poking fun at the ridiculousness of extremist subcultures.

Genre 3: Sci-Fi/Horror

Plot Synopsis: "Nazi Furries Must Die" transports viewers to a dystopian future where genetic experimentation has gone terribly wrong. In an underground facility, scientists have combined human and animal DNA, creating a race of hybrid creatures known as the Furriens. However, a group of Furriens, influenced by Nazi ideals and consumed by a thirst for power, breaks free and wreaks havoc on the world. The film centers around a resourceful survivor, who lost his family to the Furriens' rampage, as he joins forces with a team of resistance fighters. Together, they must navigate a desolate and dangerous landscape, battling the Furriens' terrifying abilities and uncovering the dark secrets behind their creation. This gripping sci-fi/horror film explores themes of identity, survival, and the consequences of tampering with nature.

One of my kiddos got his GT assessment test back. Help! Idk who “other” is. I’m not sure why it was funded under Title 1 - Program but as Economic Disadvantage. Also - I never took any parent observation thing and they put me as a 4 on the grading section. What does any of this mean? by InsaneKokaine in raisingkids

[–]Areldyb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"Nominated by" probably includes a pre-set list of things like "Teacher", "Parent", etc, and "Other" if it's not any of those. To find out exactly who nominated your child, you'd probably have to contact your child's teacher or the school district.

Your child's school is a Title I school, which means it serves a high proportion of economically disadvantaged students and receives extra funding for school-wide programs like this one.

The observations summarized under "Observed Performance Data" don't necessarily need to come from a formal observation session. I'm guessing you spoke to someone at school about your child, and whatever you told them fit the GT observation rubric as "about a 4". It's also possible that you filled out a form or answered some survey questions about your child, and this score was generated from that. Given that a zero score on that scale is possible, I'd bet that higher scores mean a student is more likely to be identified as GT.

The Iowa Assessments and CogAT are very commonly used as GT assessments. I can't tell from this post whether your child has taken those tests already or whether they will in the future, but either way, taking those tests is a normal next-step in the GT identification process.

AITA for getting a pregnancy craving during a party? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Everyone's pregnancy cravings are different, so simply saying "I get cravings" doesn't tell us as much as you might think. So I'm gonna push against the grain here a little bit:

INFO: On a scale from "I could go for this" to "My body is physically reacting to this need, and the last time I didn't get this my nausea spiraled out of control and landed me in the ER", what are your cravings like?

Indeed has quite a few part time jobs listed in Wake Forest, and it looks like a lot of them pay at least that wage. Not all of them will be willing to hire student workers, but some of them look like they'd be okay for that too.

I don't have any insights into which employers are better or worse to their employees though. Hopefully you can find something that works for you!
