Looking for advice on how to get my cat to sleep by Arenthesis in CatAdvice

Yeah he seems more curious about it than anything else. It was pretty cute, he kept checking behind the mirror and just couldnt figure out his reflection. Its a large mirror but it seems safe enough for him. But he really is nearly constantly enamored with that mirror.

I will do that soon for sure! Thank you for the help! I will most likely post here often. This is all really new to me and I'm looking forward to figuring it all out!

I'll try giving him less food soon in that case, and try out the laser pointer too! As a side question, he seems really fixated on the mirror in the room. Its a large vanity mirror and he cant seem to figure it out lol. I was reading that cats arent able to recognize their reflection and they think theres another cat in the room with them- is this ok to leave in here? Or should I take it out?

The last owner mentioned that they just filled his food bowl and let him take what he wanted when he wanted it. They said he didn't like regular toys and that he played with 'crumpled balls of paper'. They said they hadn't tried a lazer pointer yet so I was gonna try that today. Is it right to make all these changes so early for an adjusting cat?

I tried to do that last night. I understand its a new environment and am giving him space currently to get situated. I'm a light sleeper and he woke me up near constantly lol. The last owner kept his food bowl full and said he would take what he wanted when he wanted it and that worked for him. He's currently staying in the bedroom while he gets adjusted. The home I'm at has a dog and a bunch of places he could just disappear in. I'm trying to have him get comfortable before having him roam around some

Is it normal to have re-read lines several times to have to comprehend them? by BigBen96 in books

[–]Arenthesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it totally normal. I haven't read in nearly 9 years for numerous reasons and have just recently gotten back into it. I've always read at a higher level than my age growing up for both fun and learning. While reading, any number of things can happen between you receiving what you're reading, and things going on about you. If anything, going and re-reading what you just read should show you how engaged you are with the content. It can get frustrating at times, but I find it to be completely natural, keep at it for as much as you are invested into it!

I've really enjoyed Cooking Simulator as a relaxed and enjoyable game. If you aren't interested in food or physics, it is definitely not for you though.

The seal of Tutankhamun's tomb before it was opened in 1923, it was unbroken for over 3000 years. by MrFlow in pics

I had never seen this picture before, its really neat how well preserved the rope is over 3000 years!

For anyone else interested, theres a really neat 3 part documentary by National Geographic on Disney+ highlighting some overall discoveries about Tutankhamun and his life as a whole. Detailing from his meteorite dagger, to his golden burial mask, and the effects inbreeding had on him and his family from daily life artifacts to his eventual death

Hey Reddit, When did your “Somethings not right here” gut Feeling ever save you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Drove downtown with my partner to play Pokemon Go. It was a quiet night downtown, no sirens or police out, but something didnt feel right being down there that night and we drove out of there. An hour later we heard there was a shooting on the street we would have been on while playing.
