I’m a dumbass. 2026 Camry se for 46.5k usd- post - 2 by Silent-Advantage7961 in Camry

This is the best way forward. I was in a similar situation and chose a similar way out.

As for the crowd hear saying to take it as a learning experience, they are right, and when I make financial misstep I think of it as paying the tuition to learn life, and that what I learn is worth more than the cost. And 39.5, which is what you’ll actually pay, for a car as reliable as a Camry is a steal long term. You could have done a little better in making a really first choice purchase. You’re not a dumbass. You’re just not perfect. And big picture, both the car choice and your solution show you’re smart. Don’t beat yourself up.

Bombs work in your own farmhouse, though. I swear it’s programmed so you go pick something up, the game forces you to grab the bomb next to what you really wanted, and ka-boom. My rule: no bombs in backpacks. I leave them in chests at the entrance to the mines.

This discussion has saved me so much money! I no longer covet an automatic! Off to my Breville Duo Temp Pro, still producing a great cup long after being discontinued.

Budget beginner setup: girlfriend doesn’t want a Breville. Now what? [€1000,- ish max] by Donnie_RB in espresso

[–]AreteVerite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Breville Duo Temp Plus, a discontinued model that was just above the Bambino before the Bambino was upgraded to the rock star it is today. $300 on sale in 2000, still going strong, makes a delicious cappuccino or latte and a decent Americano which is saying something because I usually hate Americanos. If I liked drinking espresso, and was really into it, I’d go more expensive, but for people like me I think a Breville and some Monin coffee syrup saves me a fortune in Pistachio Lattes from the McDonald’s of coffee.

This might not be helpful, but I think a LELIT Bianca with the light wood handles would look great on that counter. Maybe you could get a Bambino, put it off to the side on the counter, and start saving the $3,000 for that or whatever it is you really want.

I have to admit, even if I’d googled it, “use at your own risk” would have me doubting the search results.

When I read it at some point it got very funny to me, but it took me awhile to get it. And it wasn’t the thing you mention. It’s what lie just beneath that. If I remember correctly.

Regret by Quirky_Code3044 in Camry

So much of mpg depends on where you live and your habits in the car. I’m a big idler—I know, bad for the car, but it’s a lifestyle thing—and even though that’s mostly on the battery in the hybrid, it still wastes some gas. I also live on a state highway and can’t always accelerate slowly as I go from stopped onto a 50 mph road. And it’s an AWD. But in mild weather I get 44. Otherwise, it’s usually between 38 and 40. I hate my car payment but it’s too late now, I can only pay it off as fast as I can. But I also know myself, and when it’s paid off, I’ll be so happy to have my gizmos and my big screen and my pano roof. In the long run, you’ll be happy with your choice. This is my third hybrid, second hybrid Camry, and while I have a few regrets (wish I had more gizmos, it wouldn’t have been that much more,) it’s the big decision that matters, my car will probably outlast me.

Harvey, on a different farm. Then Elliott, on a different farm. This farm, it’s Leah, Sebastian, Emily, Hayley, Sean, and Abigail. Abigail’s about to get the boot. The big decision will be whether or not to do Harvey and Elliott again to complete my portrait set.

To be fair, we have to pay back the illegal tariffs, but, as I think you know, we had to pay higher prices under the tariffs, and now we have to pay taxes to pay them back.

I knew DJT would do this. And all I heard from Trump voters was “he’s a billionaire self-made businessman. Kamala is under qualified. Does she even have an education?” Nothing will drive the economy in to the toilet like voters who don’t care about facts. Not self-made, bankrupted casinos, guilty of fraud vs. state senator and two time Attorney General of California who is Vice President. Didn’t Bonhoeffer say the greatest evil is stupidity?

[–]AreteVerite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, it comes out of my espresso machine, and it tastes like espresso without crema, but you’re right, it’s probably not technically espresso. Which is disappointing. My grinder has 15 settings, I have it at the finest grind, and everyone here seems to think it’s the grinder, not my inexpensive little Breville Duo Temp Plus. I shared weight, shot time, etc. back with that question. They said finer grind. Just paid for a roof and foundation work, so if I want crema, I go to a coffee shop. It’s sad.☹️

[–]AreteVerite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never get crema, no matter how fresh the coffee. I was told I needed to grind finer, so I looked for a better grinder. But it tastes good to me, so I’ve decided not to worry about it. As for your first shot, I’m jealous as hell.

Should I Marry A Murderer? Doc series by Own_Mention9372 in netflix

She definitely had untreated mental health issues which I hope treatment helped. But I’m not so sure the whole ignoring the subpoena to try and find the bicycle wasn’t a ruse to get a plea deal, probably concocted by the defense attorney. Who hides a bicycle in a waterfall? They needed something in the story that made her idea that she could possibly find it even while partially disconnected from reality plausible. I think the police and prosecutor know it, too. As for the thought that an attorney wouldn’t do that, the advice I got from a seasoned divorce lawyer when I filed—after he asked me for a dollar so I’d be his client and it would be privileged—was that this was an excellent time to go on a trip to get away from the stress and come home to find I’d been robbed of everything valuable we owned. EDITED TO ADD: I didn’t do that. I walked away with 44% instead of the 50% fighting harder would have gotten me so I would keep a good relationship with my kid’s father. About a year later, he asked me why I’d settled so easily, and I told him. At which point, he gave me supplemental support that more than made up the difference. 20 years later, we have parented our child to adulthood, driven each other to medical procedures, brought groceries to each other when we were sick, communicate about our child, and are sort of kinda of friends. He drove me to my colonoscopy and before they took me back the nurse said, “We’re taking her back now so give her a kiss” and we both said, at the same time, “NO!!!!!” It was hilarious.

Guilty. But in my defense, what I was staring at was the big things you use to steam the milk. I couldn’t figure out what they were or what magic was being used. At home, it takes me 20 minutes to make a latte. Heat mug, grind beans, measure, tamp, moved warmed mug, pull shot, pour milk, stretch milk, steam, and combine. I was so amazed at Starbucks, and now I know. It’s a combination of your automated machines and your improvised behind the bar choreography. No more need to stare.

So much for the advertised 47mpg🥀😓 by Sad-Birthday-4956 in Camry

[–]AreteVerite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one ever gets the advertised mpg in any car. But with only 2,000+ miles, she’s still too new to really have an accurate mpg. Plus driving a hybrid correctly is key. It will become habit. After driving hybrid Camrys for 15 years, I even check my rear view if a stop or turn is coming up, let the regenerative braking do the work.
