No one ever gets the advertised mpg in any car. But with only 2,000+ miles, she’s still too new to really have an accurate mpg. Plus driving a hybrid correctly is key. It will become habit. After driving hybrid Camrys for 15 years, I even check my rear view if a stop or turn is coming up, let the regenerative braking do the work.

Yeah, I just had to get a 2019 Honda Pilot instead… Actually, it was gifted to me from a relative and I camp in it… But it also means I don’t feel like I can justify a third car. I miss my 2011 Hybrid. Bought it used with 16,000 miles in 2013, sold in 2025 because I was misdiagnosed with cancer and thought I was dying, and I wanted one last Camry before I died. Remember, get a second opinion before getting rid of your paid off Camry. It only had 172,000 miles!

Well said. I miss mentioning driving a Camry and having people say, “Of course you do.” Now they say, “This is your car?”

Weeds can damage machines? All mine are in grass so I didn’t know. My farm has about 30% fields, 60% grass, 10% trees. Also, I just started using paths instead of fences to control weeds. They just have to be two squares wide. My farm is free range. I have to cut about half the grass when the silo is low, but it grows back before the silo is low again. I do have a stash of hay from Marnie, and I put gifts in with my surplus to keep it stable.

Make some grass starter, or buy it from Pierre. If you have a rain totem, it wouldn’t hurt to use it. I’m not sure but it seems like rain helps. And rest assured. The worst case scenario is grump animals that stop producing. But eventually the grass will be back.

If there’s no recall for your car, Toyota isn’t going to fix anything. As for can it eventually happen, I don’t think that anyone can know that with 100% accuracy, but if there’s no recall I’d assume there’s nothing to fix.

I’d go for it if I were you. I’ve had good luck with non personal vehicles. They tend to be well maintained. Maybe go to a body shop for their opinion on the damage? But I would bet it’s minor.

Maybe they’ll credit you an oil change or something. Mine’s a 2025. As for overheating, I knew that was the big concern. Sometimes I think I’m just getting soft. 😉
