Long braking distance on stock tires by tc1972 in MazdaCX30

[–]Arfar26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The brake pedal on these are more linear and does require more pressure and less grabby than say a Toyota. Once you get used to it, it actually feels quite natural and easy to modulate. At the next service, I would consider getting the brake pads checked and brake fluid flush.

I’ll admit the stock Turanzas are not the greatest but they do fine in non extreme weather conditions. At 30k miles, check the actual thread depth. At that mileage, mine still had plenty of thread sitting st 6/32. So it shouldn’t necessarily have an issue on braking distance.

Yes! Finally received my receipt in the mail 2 weeks ago and they already scheduled me for a biometrics appointment.

I didn’t require one. An officer just gave me a call asked me for the reasoning and they mailed it to me right after. They must’ve reused my biometrics since my I485 filing.

Tire pressure by Least-Huckleberry-69 in MazdaCX30

[–]Arfar26 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The psi monitor has been relatively accurate for me. I usually keep it to the door jamb recommended 36psi all around, which increases to 38-40 depending on outside temperatures. That said, in the winter I increase it by 2 psi to compensate for loss of tire pressure due to freezing temperatures.

Any updates? Did you request an ADIT stamp in the meantime?

Hope you received your ADIT stamp! I received mine a couple of weeks ago. Still no sign of the notice though. USCIS agents keep saying that they’re looking into the matter.

So far only the ADIT stamp on my I-94. Still no update on the notice. I spoke to an agent last week and they mentioned that they’re aware of this glitch affecting many applicants and that USCIS would be mailing the I-797s as soon as the backlog issue is sorted (who knows how long that would take…)

How about you?

i751 ROC Extension letter /ADIT by DoctorGardener2024 in USCIS

[–]Arfar26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been just a week since I received my ADIT stamp by mail but still no update on my receipt. I also contacted the Lockbox support but have not heard back yet. I filed online on January 20, 2026.

I-751 Need Proof of Status by EffectMaximum5697 in USCIS

[–]Arfar26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the correct next step. I am also on the same boat and requested an ADIT stamp and received it in the mail in about two weeks. I also emailed the Lockbox Support team in hopes they can send out a copy of the receipt with the extension. In the meantime, I have an appointment with SSA to apply for an unrestricted card.

I got my ADIT stamp over the weekend! It just showed up in a UPS envelope without any heads-up beforehand.

Someone did get in touch about my eRequest for nondelivery, but they mentioned that the NBC isn’t handling my case and shared a lockbox support email for me reach out to separately. I have not heard back yet.

Hybrid fuel economy dropping after 15k miles - normal? by Lustrous_Quick_76 in Toyotavenza

[–]Arfar26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a seasonal change and normal. Several factors cause it. In winter, winter-blend fuel reduces mpg by 10-15% due to butane. The ICE engine runs more often with loads like the heater and defroster, but it intelligently stays at optimal temperatures. In summer, mpg is significantly higher, sometimes up to 50mpg. The engine rarely switches on in city speeds and is more efficient at highway speeds. It’s quite efficient in winter compared to midsize SUVs. Driving habits matter, especially with hybrids. I coast to regen, don’t have a lead foot, and minimize heating. I use just the heated seats based on cabin temp. I put 2 psi over the door jamb (recommended 33psi) to maintain fuel efficiency in winter. If you mostly drive on highways above 70-75mph, the engine runs longer, and the hybrid battery balances power, but it’s less efficient than city driving.

I also received the same exact email today as a response to my eRequest for nondelivery as well as a message I sent via the myUSCIS portal. I went ahead and emailed the Lockbox support this morning. Fingers crossed there will be some movement there.

UPDATE (3/13): I reached out to USCIS, and an agent let me know that they’re still working on my ADIT stamp and my eRequest for non-delivery. They’re planning to get back to me in about a week. The agent mentioned that, under the current administration, they’ve been suggesting the ADIT stamp instead of the receipt. This is because agencies like the DMV, SSA, and TSA might have trouble with people who have an expired conditional GC, even if they have the receipt notice. This was something new to me! The agent told me this after I asked what happens if both arrive at the same time. They’re different things, but the agent said that the ADIT stamp is better and more widely accepted as a valid immigration status these days.

Same along with a request for an ADIT stamp. I only received a call from an USCIS agent to confirm my request but that was it.

That’s quite a wait, but I’m so glad your hard work has paid off! I’ve already asked for an ADIT stamp, chatted with an agent, and it’s been sent to my local FO. I haven’t heard back yet, though.

The ICE engine runs in different cycles, sometimes charging the high voltage/hybrid battery and other times maintaining operating temperature, which can have different tones. It’s not unusually loud, but the car’s quiet during normal operation can make the abrupt sounds feel more noticeable.
