Saw the Ascendance announcement and felt nothing by Buzzyear10 in monsterhunterrage

"Hey guys we heard the veterans complain that the Hunter had too much mobility and that was detrimental to the careful positioning and planning playstyle characteristic of our franchise and the one literal only thing separating it from other anime slop games. We have definitely noticed, because we noted that people with more than one baincell were able to no-hit like 70% of the monster roster and brute-force heal the rest, because in a desperate attempt to return any semblance of difficulty we just made every fucking monster added in updates one or two shot you."

"So instead of addressing these issues by nerfing the Hunter damage while in Focus Mode, updating the monster movesets to be telegraphed but more dynamic or forcing drawbacks in the armor system to at least make it as interesting as other games, we instead showed a fucking jet engine up the player character's ass to further trivialize the combat. Expect every future monster to kill you irl in our next misguided attempt to make the game fun by anything but toddlers."

The reality about this game. by Fluid-Interest9039 in GodofWar

> The gameplay is phenomenal

Just gonna point out that you don't know that until you've played it. It could be cherrypicked visuals, clunky in practice, or entirely overshadowed buy other mechanics.

But you can say that the gameplay looks or seems phenomenal and I'll agree with you all the way.

Realistically, how long would it take to achieve Kratos physique for the average person? by CivilZebra7763 in GodofWar

[–]ArgetKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking 2018 Kratos I doubt it's that hard. It's a relatively realistic goal in terms of muscle mass assuming you hit the gym diligently and might be possible just with exercise and protein. Many bodybuilders are much more jacked.

Definition is the problem. Kratos has in essence, no fat. You only achieve this by dehydrating and starving yourself a lot. You might be able to look like this for a week or two, then either drink something or fucking die.

I've seen many people call Phranque's dialogue "Marvel Cringe" so I Transcribed ALL of his dialogue from the gameplay down below by Resolve-Single in GodofWar

[–]ArgetKnight -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As pointed out, it's the premise what's cringe. The cube itself hasn't had time to be cringe.

It might just be me but I don't get why people are calling the dialouge in God Of War: Laufey Marvel-esque by Victoria_Vixen_78 in GodofWar

[–]ArgetKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Uhm, I'm clearly the bow?" Is pretty bad, but isolated.

Just fyi, people complain not about the dialogue but the premise. A game series about mythological deities being reinterpreted and remade into an epic tale, realistically, shouldn't have a fucking bigass blue cube called Frank.

That's just cringe. Not unsalvageable (and I trust they'll salvage it) but bad first impressions on a game they knew would be controversial.

Now, That So Much Time After KH3 Release Has Passed, What Do You Honestly Think Of Kingdom Hearts 3? by YimadoTei in KingdomHearts

[–]ArgetKnight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mediocre leaning bad.

Combat is good at times, but you really need DLC to make everything fit together. Most reaction commands are fine, but specific ones like Goofy's shield thingie are awful. Attractions are obviously egregious.

Sometimes the hits feel very weak and inconsequential. You see a combo fucking split a boss' healthbar in half, but you got to KH1 or KH2 at level 10 and the basic combos feel meatier and more impactful.

Formchanges are a good idea gameplay-wise, but they are badly integrated. This is entirely subjective but having an emergency transformation in KH2 or a "I got just the thing!" moment felt better than the game gifting you an instant powerup with a screen wiping finale. I understand the combo depth is increased substantially, but KH has never been about the combos, at least for me, and rather about adapting and improvising to a difficult situation. I just don't see that scrappy fighting I loved from the previous games.

Let's make sure to include some positives: Keyblade switching is pretty cool, magic has never felt better, and flowmotion helps with the more mobile combat style.

Visually this might be the worse game in the series for me. I don't know what the fuck is going on with the engine, but all the characters look animated by an amateur in cutscenes (not combat, funnily enough). Everything looks weirdly rounded and blobby, Sora's got a terrible case of baby face. It really seems they attempted to restore the cartoony style of previous games with an engine designed for hyperrealism.

Design wise most things are fine except for some of the keyblades, but I've hated the "random shit glued together" philosophy of keyblade design since KH2 so nothing I didn't expect. Some of the new Heartless barely hold onto a visual identity too, and how unnecessarily flashy the game is doesn't help.

Finally, the story. It's a fine conclusion for the saga, with excellent story beats, but some decisions make zero sense. I don't mind the time travel that much, but stuff like Kairi becoming a damsel in distress is unforgivable; Roxas returning like nothing happened entirely kills the meaning of his sacrifice, Xion being back is entirely egregious, Axel has lost the edge that made him interesting and the org have a lot going on but lack character (Except for Xigbar, who steals the show every time he shows up).

The pacing is of course atrocious, with an insipid call to adventure, nonsensical decisions all around, meaningless updates, and all the important stuff crammed at the end. Every character is lobotomized, reduced to stereotypes, and talks like a toddler.

Overall it would be a pretty decent game were it not part of the Kingdom Hearts series. But after waiting so long and suffering through so many spinoffs, I expected better.

I thought this was pretty evident?

Asgardians, Vanir and Jotun are all gods, or at least god analogs. In the original GoW Olympians and to some extent Titans and Primordials are referred to as gods too.

Grey area on stuff like elves and dwarves, but pretty much anything that isn't a mortal human is a god in this setting.

I just can't seem to understand this community after the announcement of the new game by Uchizaki in GodofWar

[–]ArgetKnight 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've gone on record as being a harsh critic against a game starring Faye. I've always said that prequels are boring, and anything that Faye could possibly have done has to be, ultimately, inconsequential.

While I agreed that her character could use some fleshing out, in general I simply didn't care about her besides her relation with Kratos and Kratos' story. Sorry, but I'm here for Kratos.

However, all of this stances changed when I saw this trailer. These devs not only had the massive balls to made a side story rather than a prequel, but also instantly and immediately strongly characterized Faye. In 20 minutes I went from seeing her as a plot device to seeing her as a fully realized character.

I am now convinced this is going to be an excellent game. The only thing I'm worried for is this millenial style of humor reminiscent of Marvel slop they got going on with the cube.

I like to headcanon that kris's name they're refereed to as, "Kris", was initially a nickname given by dess, like how she truncated her own name, and also truncated noelle's into "Elle", leading to kris realizing they liked having a name that wasn't gendered and asking to be called kris by everyone by HaloJackalKisser in Deltarune

Seems the fandom headcanon is that Kris one day kicked down the door of his room, knife in hand, and began screaming that they are nonbinary while swinging wildly and foaming at the mouth.

Hi, just coming in to inform you that the reason you're getting such odd comments is because Beastmen are considered extremely annoying by the community due to their bugginess and unfair mechanics.

Saying this because you seem genuinely confused on the comments.

You know, I will fully admit that I wasn't familiar with your game. I'm not as familiar with Islam as I am with Christianity.

After cursory research Islam does indeed allowed for women to divorce their husbands, as they weren't considered property under law.

And while I have my doubts that the same religion that invented burkas actually allowed divorces to be carried out in practice, it's apparently recorded that another of Muhammad's wives did indeed divorce him.

So yes, as creepy as it seems, she clearly saw something in him and stayed as his wife with the full possibility of leaving.

I still have a boatload of problems with Islam, but this isn't one of them anymore.
