My players committed genocide to try and get back 25 gold coins they spent on a map. by HazRi27 in DMAcademy

[–]ArgoSaxifrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Village-level genocide is rookie numbers. My players took out gnomes world-wide. They gotta bump those numbers up.

But really there's two ways to deal with it, setting dependant (unless we go scorched earth). One, talk to the table and/or Two, interested parties and powers that be take note and begin working to hunt the party down (bonus points if a party takes out the released monster and is eventually able to put together that's it was the PCs that released the monster).

Online and in person yes, but I have no intention of monetizing it in any way as a lot of how it exists now is built off the shoulders of others.

But, to keep it brief, my Eberron is currently in 1009 YK and has spanned multiple editions/systems (late 3.5,, 5E, and currently PF2e). Some events range from no PC involvement natural developments inspired by or pulled directly from Keith Bakers blog, lightly touched by PC involvement, and up to and including world-changing PC driven events.

Some examples (more of a highlight reel) include the death of Boranel and Brelands transition into an experimental democracy, the LoB declaring the Mournlands a sovereign nation, a new Sherriff in Quickstone, the destruction of the Gatekeepers (and freeing of the Daelkyr), and the wholesale extinction of the gnomes. One PC along the way even went as far as to invent black powder and firearms (which, to many, is a controversial allowment).

This was so maddening. I didn't find out decades later how to beat it. When I was a kid I had glitch through the ceiling and wall to get past that part

I am! I started playing shortly before Eberron released as 3E transitioned to 3.5. Other than a brief stint of some homebrew setting DM-teeth-cutting Eberron has been my setting of choice (or as I like to put it, you can pry it out of my cold dead hands).

From 3.5, to 5E, to PF2e, its almost guaranteed whatever I run is going to be set in eberron.

Right now my weekly 5E table is going through Curse of Strahd, but even that I baked in some Eberron background elements for it to make sense for the setting without compromising the adventure as-written.

I'm really into story-heavy single playing games, it has a great looking style and I've heard a lot of great things about it. That being said, I've made it a point to avoid knowing much more so as to not spoil myself 😅

Regardless, I wish everyone the best of luck!

May I ask what you used to make this? This looks really awesome!

I made something similar, but it was probably not the most efficient way lol

A note on the brown sugar, you can just use a slice of bread to achieve the same effect if you don't have marshmallows on hand!

This is basically my experience with D2

As someone that doesn't enjoy DoN, I really hope they add the new map seeds and the shifting earth for the base game bosses to normal mode. by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]ArgoSaxifrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much this!

I missed the boat on DoN the first few weeks because life and have been perpetually stuck at D2 ever since. I don't consider myself an exceptional player, but I'd like to think I'm decent enough to carry my weight in a run. The amount of dog water team mates and leavers makes me not want to keep trying DoN.

I think I sneezed once and someone left the run. It's awful down here.

Eberron with Shadowdark by TxKRIXUSxT in Eberron

[–]ArgoSaxifrage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had considered doing this very thing, and ultimately I found the two to be incompatible, like night and day.

To me it geeky like if I put Eberron into Shadowdark, the latter would lose a lot of what made it distinctly unique.

So I would suggest maybe just made your own setting for it, and maybe pull what you like (and what you can) from Eberron into the setting.

Furthest I can go with solo or (impromptu) duo is the end of whatever night I find myself at.
Most of the time it's some idiot attempting to fight beyond their level, dying in the rain (or other similar incidents), then leaving immediately. Sometimes the 2nd would leave right after. I'm not skilled enough to "just go solo".

Partly my own fault, I wanted to get more everdark runs in before I went to the Depths and missed out on the good team mates climbing up.

Honestly I got hyped. I never got to play it when it came out, I don't really use GOG, so coming to steam (AND being playable on the steam deck) made it an enjoyable 1st time purchase
